BLESSINGS AND LOVE TO YOU ALL!
“I mean to live my true life, and I embrace the means by which that will happen.” ~ MarDrag
“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.” ~ Goethe
“We have all a better guide in ourselves, if we would attend to it, than any other person can be.” ~ Jane Austin
“Self-trust is the first secret of success.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
“When I’m trusting and being myself… everything in my life reflects this by falling into place easily, often miraculously.” ~ Shakti Gawain
“Trust that little voice in your head that says “Wouldn’t it be interesting if..”; And then do it.” ~ Duane Michals
from the Desk of MarDrag:
To trust oneself, especially amid the pressures, obligations and stresses of today’s world…is often difficult. Reading over the quotes above, it sounds so easy, simple really. Doesn’t it? So, why do we struggle so with self-doubt, questioning ourselves and the voice of wisdom that comes from within. There are so many voices, internal and external, telling us what to do, how to do it, how to think or feel, or judging us for how we think and feel. It all gets so muddled, and our true self gets lost in the middle of it somewhere.
When we are faced with these daily challenges, the first thing we tend to do is doubt or question ourselves and our abilities, actions or understandings. Sometimes, it seems the difficulties win out, and we succumb to the overbearing negative voice that can boom so loudly telling us we should not trust ourselves to “get it right”.
I love Jane Austin’s quote above that says we have an inner guide that is far better for us than any other person, place or thing that we may seek to guide us. In other words, looking within for guidance is the best choice. We have an innate wisdom, an inner wise voice that speaks to us all the time, if we but listen and “attend” to it. If we can take a moment to be quiet, and let that voice surface above all the other static….and give it attention……we can meet our inner guide and get to know them, become friends with that part of ourselves, take them with us as a companion throughout our day, trusting that they will always guide us in the right direction because we know they have our best interests in their heart. They/we want the best for us.
The greatest gift we can give ourselves is self-trust. To give ourselves the benefit of the doubt and let go of the fear of error. We will make mistakes and wrong choices, but we will succeed if we learn from them, and therefore, build more self-trust. Believe in the value of your thread in the great tapestry, and the reason it is there. There is a reason (I believe) for everything happening in the way that it does, believe in the benefit of the Divine plan. If you believe in that, then you believe in yourself, because we are all an important and critical thread in the Divine tapestry.
If things are not going “as planned”, look within for your inner guide and let them come forward to show you the way and trust yourself that you will bring yourself through it and triumph. How often in life do we say, Oh, years ago I went through a tough time, but I came out of it a stronger person. Reach out to the inner guide that brought you through it, they will be there again. When we believe in ourselves, when we trust ourselves….no matter what any circumstances around us look like…..we can’t help but do the right thing, and then, everything falls into place naturally. Trust that!
“You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” ~ Marcus Aurelius
“Courage isn’t having the strength to go on – it is going on when you don’t have strength.” ~ Napoleon
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” ~ Corrie Boom
“Don’t be afraid of your fears. They’re not there to scare you. They’re there to let you know that something is worth it.” ~ C. JoyBell C.
“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
This is a very unsettled and tough time we are going through. There is much in our own lives to handle, and the view of world events is troubling. We are all trying to carve out a corner of this world for ourselves, to follow our dreams and passions, and to find happiness and peace. It has not been easy, and I am hearing a great deal about how tired and discouraged many of us are. So, today’s post speaks to this…and it is the deepest desire of my heart and soul that these words will help in some small way.
I titled the blog “The Core Of Our Strength” because I want to talk about where Strength comes from. We hear that word bandied about a lot. It is written about, and told to us with good intentions, to help us remember how Strong we are and that we can get through anything, if we just believe in our Strength. But, when we feel discouraged, we may wonder where to gather that Strength, as it seems we may run out of it.
But…you see…we never will run out of it.
Why? Because Strength comes from our Core, our most inner Self. That Core place, that Center, that houses all the things we need to manage our life.
And at our Core…is our Spiritual Warrior…our Warrior Energy (that yesterday’s blog spoke of). This is that Core, that place so deep down inside us that there is no end to it. Our Core is like the Core of the Earth…forever burning bright, hot, and full of Power and Energy. It is the layers of worry, doubt, and fear that we throw on top of our Core Strength that dampens the flame.
The one thing that is always steady, always there, and always exactly what it is…is our Core Self, our True Self, our Inner Warrior…that never changes and never gives up. Even as circumstances can change around us…and we can change our minds, or our thoughts, or our behavior…our Core Self stays steadfast. And that is to be celebrated.
This is why it is so important, especially now, to get in touch with our True Self, our Core Self…and cultivate it. Acknowledge it, and hear the truth that Self has to tell us. It is THE ONE thing we can ALWAYS count on…the steady heartbeat of our Core Self, our Core Strength. It never leaves us. Our Core Self will never abandon us, or run out of Strength. It is built in to us, for the purpose of holding us steady. That is what a Core does…it holds what is around it steady. It is the foundation, the rock solid axis on which we spin. So…our Core Strength can never forsake us…and we should trust it and rely on it. Believe in it…and believe in ourselves.
In the Core of an apple are the seeds from which it grows. So too, the seeds of what we want to grow in our lives are within us, at our Core…where the soil of Strength keeps them protected and nurtured. Reach in, reach down deep and find those seeds. Find the flame of that Core Self, that Core Strength, and bring it to the surface. Look at these illustrations of the apple and the Earth and see yourself in the reflection. You are whole, like the globe and the fruit, with a Core inside that holds you stable and secure. Know that. Believe it. See it. And let your Strength flow through, replenishing and sparking your motivation.
The Wheel IS turning. Have Hope and Faith. Love and Be Loved. And strike your best Warrior pose in Strength.
“Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” ~ Pope John XXIII
What we focus on grows. If we can remember that daily, we can guide our thoughts from what we fear or lack and focus them on our hopes and dreams and the potential that we have…every day…to make a new start or to finish a dream long desired. Do not give up! If we have failed at something, it just means it was not the right thing and the space needs to be cleared so we can begin again, on another dream, and make that happen. The potential to succeed is always there. And if we make that our intent, then the rest will fall away, and we can fulfill those hopes and dreams we so resolutely desire. Let us focus on the possibilities of what can still happen rather than on what has not happened.
“Intuition is a sense of knowing how to act spontaneously, without needing to know why.” ~ Sylvia Clare
Why? It is a question so frequently asked. Sometimes we receive and answer…and sometimes we are called to move forward without answers or knowledge about why, how, when, or where. It is at these times that we are acting on Intuition and Instinct. Intuition does not need a reason to act…it already knows the reason and the answer. Listen to that Intuitive voice and follow its message. We will likely find the answer to Why on the road to Where.
“Travelers, there is no path, paths are made by walking.” ~ Antonio Machado
This quote caught my attention and made me stop and think. It begs the age old question…”Which came first, the path or the traveler?” There are many who came before us that blazed trails for us to follow, and many to come after us who will walk in our steps, if we are to leave an imprint. But the truth is…if we are to forge our own True Path and live our True Life, then we must create a new path, a path that our own unique and individual steps fit to, for no one can shape a path for us. We can learn from others, watch their steps and emulate them, or study many different paths…but when the time comes, we must walk in our own power and strength and clear the debris around us, shine our Light, and illuminate the path before us to show us the way. There is no other way to find our True Path. So, we must start walking.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
With every difficulty, with every challenge, with every hardship, we learn more about how strong we are and how deep we can dip into our own resources within to manage those difficulties. Acknowledge that strength and courage, make it important that you focus on those abilities. Realize your power. Where you focus, is what grows.
Take a moment to reflect on yourself and all the qualities that make you who you are. And accept them. If there are things you want to change, then set about changing them. But the essence of who you are is your life blood. Learn to be comfortable with your essence, accepting your limitations while honoring your strengths. Put your attention on those strengths and they will grow. Just as putting attention on your weaknesses will make them grow. When you feel your mind stray to the chatter that keeps negative energy alive, consciously switch your mind to focus on one of your strengths and remind yourself of your genius in that strength. Remember, no one does it like you do! Celebrate all that you are. Be grateful for what you are blessed with in life, focus on what does work, and build on that.
And then take that moment, and accept who you are, right then and there, and if just for that moment, be good enough, know that you are the greatest you, and that you are growing all the while. Be grateful for all that you have, and for the challenges that make you more than who you thought you could be.
There is a Divine and Infinite potential within every soul, an intimate access to the mind and the passion of the Universe. ~ K. Allen Kay
The possibilities are endless. Only our “vision” can be limited. The truth is, potential has no bounds…it goes on forever….budding with possibilities. If the potential of our soul is limitless, then we have the power to make a different choice and see it succeed at any given moment of our lives. And the Universe supports that whole-heartedly.
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing that it is stupid.” ~ Albert Einstein
I love this quote…it is one of my favorites. If the fish cannot climb the tree, does that make it stupid? We should not judge ourselves for what we can not do, or what we are not, or what our limitations are….but embrace ourselves for all that we CAN do, and exactly what and who we are. Focusing on what we do not know makes us feel stupid….and takes away the courage to learn. We end up feeling inadequate, when there are so many things we DO know. Acknowledge that you do not know everything….but that you are a genius at what you do know!
I think we can all agree…there is a lot going on in the world, and our own worlds, and it has us thinking of how we will manage and get to “our future”. And what’s more…we are not sure what that future holds. Globally, it is not a time of peace and harmony. That makes us wary and unsure, because we have to live in these times and try to pull some happiness and success into our lives out of that lack. It can make our own lives off balance and…combined with our own individual issues…it can be discouraging.
These times take our courage and strength to get through. But consider this…if we allow all these things we worry about to weigh so heavily on us that we stop having Faith in our future…then we have lost that future right there, in that moment. The one thing that will make the future better…is if we have Faith in it now. If we Believe the future will rise up to meet us and be good…then we can Make It So. We can not give up now! For ourselves, or for the world.
We are all magnificent beings with so many gifts and skills and love and compassion. Who is going to tell us we can not have the future we want to have? And certainly…we should not let that be ourselves who tell us that. Let us Believe in ourselves…in our Future…and have Faith that, for the Belief, Effort, Love, and Strength that we spend now…those are the cornerstones of what the future will hold.
Be Inspired To Have Faith In The Future…
BLESSINGS TO ALL AND YOUR FUTURES!
FOR THEY SHALL BE GRAND AND BE-YOU-TIFUL,
IF WE JUST BELIEVE, WE CAN MAKE IT SO!
There was a quote on Thursday’s Thoughts Blog that caught my attention and stayed with me. It said that, at the time of greatest Risk is when we have the most energy to transform our lives. And I pondered on how true that is. For when we are faced with the precipice, the edge of an adventure, and we must make a choice or decision, we find that rush of energy to move forward and take action. And, if we become aware that this is THE moment when we can let our Power roar, and we listen closely to that inner wise and truthful voice, then we can take that Risk and transform our lives.
And the first and greatest Risk is…simply being who we are, our True self, no matter what anything or anyone outside of us thinks or says. Take the Risk today…to be Just You! And know, You are Magnificent! Blessings!
“When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid.” ~ Audre Lorde
from The Desk of MarDrag:
Day to day, we channel our Strength to accomplish what we need to accomplish…with family, work, obligations, responsibilities…but how much of that Strength do we channel into our own Life Vision. Out of necessity…and often Fear, we gauge it is less important to lend what Strength we have left to our Vision. Consider that, channeling Strength to our Purpose, our own Vision, makes it grow in Strength, and the more we give it, the more we vanquish the Fear that distracts us from following the Vision. Dare to be Powerful enough to say…I shall channel some Strength to my Vision daily, and watch it blossom and come to life. As, too, our Power will blossom from this use.
“It is at the perilous edge of risk itself that the energy comes to transform your life.” ~ Author Unknown
from The Desk of MarDrag:
Just as we are teetering on the edge of life, and we think we will fall or not make it to the other side…our instincts take over and feed us with energy, purpose, and answers when we thought we would not get them. It is at this moment, the moment of greatest Risk, that the most amazing things happen, and we see what we are really made of. We should not fear Risk…but use it to propel us forward.
“Dreams aren’t those you have when you sleep. Dreams are those you have that don’t let you sleep until they are fulfilled.” ~ Nishan Panwar
from The Desk of MarDrag:
We should take that thing that we daydream about when we are somewhere we do not want to be…and go make it happen. That Dream we give ourselves a few minutes to indulge in just before we fall asleep…go make it happen. That Dream that we close our waking eyes to so we can see it behind our lids…that gets us through a difficult day. Go make THAT happen. They will not leave us until we fulfill them…because Dreams are loyal…and they know where to take us. Let us make our Dreams come true…and if everyone is following their Bliss, their Dream, then the world will, indeed, be a happier place.
