A Bit About Transition ~ Repost

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Transitions. Everyone seems to be going through them on any number of different levels, so I wanted to expound a bit on the subject and the Weekend Post. Transitions seem to be the most difficult part of change and evolving. When we are in Transition, we are smack in the middle of a Change…we have left what is changing behind and we have moved into the tunnel, the middle of the movement, we are “in transit”, and we can no longer see nor are we attached to what we left behind…but we also can not yet see where we are headed, or what the outcome will be. But as one of the quotes from Sunday’s blog says…” all Transitions are composed of an ending, a neutral zone, and a new beginning.” (Walter Bridges). It is the new beginning we sometimes forget is waiting for us.

T2.jpg

Transitions are that time when we hold our breath in anticipation of what will come. Would we spend that time in Fear…or in our Truth and Power as we cultivate the energy that will take us where we want to go. It is in Transition that we have the most Power…because it is that moment, that space between what was created and what is to be created…so it is a chance to find clarity on what we really want to create. It can be a useful time.

T4.jpg

And while we may not be certain something good is going to come, we are equally not certain that something bad is going to come either. We Fear what will happen, yet it has not happened yet, so what use is that Fear? If it happens, we already know we will deal with it. Because we always do. If something wonderful happens, then we have wasted that time spent in Fear of the unknown, when the unkown held something great for us all along.

T5.jpg

In addition, we are contributors to our Destiny, so while outside forces play a part in what occurs in our lives, we too have our inner force, our Power, Choices, and Decisions that can be the factors that sway the direction in which the Transition takes us.

The Oxford American Dictionary tells us the definition of Transition is:

the process of changing from one state or style to another; passage from one form, state, style, or place to another; movement, development, or evolution from one form, stage, or style to another

I like the part that states Transition is a Passage, so that tells us it is not a place we stay. The very root of Transition is Transit…in movement. And a Passage, a Movement, always takes us to somewhere else. It is as if being on a train ride. So, are we riding that train in Fear and Apprehension…or would we spend that time on the train reading, studying, praying, creating, dreaming, and sending our Energy and Power out to be counted in the forming of our destination. It really is all in our Perception of how we see Transition.

T9.jpg

If we are in Transition, then movement has begun and we cannot stop it. But, we can certainly have Power in directing where we are going and what we choose along the way. AND…most importantly…we have a choice about how we spend our time in Transition. Which can be…taking care of ourselves, gaining clarity on where we are going, and focusing our energy in a positive direction.

T6.jpg

Transitions can be a bumpy ride…but they can also be full of useful and empowering action, even if that action is to sit back and wait for the train to arrive at the next station. We do not have to dread Transition, it can be exciting and thrilling if we see it as the time of the caterpillar in its cocoon, just before it breaks free and morphs into a beautiful Butterfly…and begins a whole new life.

The Core of Our Strength ~ Repost

I posted this blog two years ago and then ran across it again today. It seems very fitting for this time, this weekend…so I leave it for you…to remember what lives inside each of us…ready to be tapped…no matter what is going on around us. May these words offer some comfort and inspiration. Blessings!

“You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” ~ Marcus Aurelius

“Courage isn’t having the strength to go on – it is going on when you don’t have strength.”  ~ Napoleon

“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”  ~ Corrie Boom

“Don’t be afraid of your fears. They’re not there to scare you. They’re there to let you know that something is worth it.”  ~ C. JoyBell C.

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”  ~ Mahatma Gandhi

from The Desk of MarDrag:

This is a very unsettled and tough time we are going through. There is much in our own lives to handle, and the view of world events is troubling. We are all trying to carve out a corner of this world for ourselves, to follow our dreams and passions, and to find happiness and peace. It has not been easy, and I am hearing a great deal about how tired and discouraged many of us are. So, today’s post speaks to this…and it is the deepest desire of my heart and soul that these words will help in some small way.

I titled the blog “The Core Of Our Strength” because I want to talk about where Strength comes from. We hear that word bandied about a lot. It is written about, and told to us with good intentions, to help us remember how Strong we are and that we can get through anything, if we just believe in our Strength. But, when we feel discouraged, we may wonder where to gather that Strength, as it seems we may run out of it.

But…you see…we never will run out of it.

Why? Because Strength comes from our Core, our most inner Self. That Core place, that Center, that houses all the things we need to manage our life.

c3

And at our Core…is our Spiritual Warrior…our Warrior Energy. This is that Core, that place so deep down inside us that there is no end to it. Our Core is like the Core of the Earth…forever burning bright, hot, and full of Power and Energy. It is the layers of worry, doubt, and fear that we throw on top of our Core Strength that dampens the flame.

The one thing that is always steady, always there, and always exactly what it is…is our Core Self, our True Self, our Inner Warrior…that never changes and never gives up. Even as circumstances can change around us…and we can change our minds, or our thoughts, or our behavior…our Core Self stays steadfast. And that is to be celebrated.

This is why it is so important, especially now, to get in touch with our True Self, our Core Self…and cultivate it. Acknowledge it, and hear the truth that Self has to tell us. It is THE ONE thing we can ALWAYS count on…the steady heartbeat of our Core Self, our Core Strength. It never leaves us. Our Core Self will never abandon us, or run out of Strength. It is built in to us, for the purpose of holding us steady. That is what a Core does…it holds what is around it steady. It is the foundation, the rock solid axis on which we spin. So…our Core Strength can never forsake us…and we should trust it and rely on it. Believe in it…and believe in ourselves.

c5

In the Core of an apple are the seeds from which it grows. So too, the seeds of what we want to grow in our lives are within us, at our Core…where the soil of Strength keeps them protected and nurtured. Reach in, reach down deep and find those seeds. Find the flame of that Core Self, that Core Strength, and bring it to the surface. Look at these illustrations of the apple and the Earth and see yourself in the reflection. You are whole, like the globe and the fruit, with a Core inside that holds you stable and secure. Know that. Believe it. See it. And let your Strength flow through, replenishing and sparking your motivation.

The Wheel IS turning.

Have Hope and Faith. Love and Be Loved. And strike your best Warrior pose in Strength.

YOU Are Important ~ Don’t Forget That

M1.jpg

In this swirling pool of negativity and waves of uncertainty, confusion, and vitriol…it is very easy to be swept away from ourselves. It pulls on our focus and emotions…and soon we are swimming away from that which is and should be important in our own lives, our own worlds. And we begin to feel helpless and ineffectual and unimportant. But that is not the truth. Never forget…

M2.jpg

EVERYONE matters and is an important and essential cog in the wheel of life and the world. No matter what you might hear “out there”.

Thoughts For The Day ~ Repost

T2.jpg

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.”  ~ Viktor Frankl

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

Something happens to us…then there is a heartbeat…and then we respond. Within that heartbeat, that minute space, there is a vast reservoir of freedom and power because, in that instant, lives our gift of choice. We pass over that moment in a rush to respond…but if we can strengthen our awareness to expand our focus of this moment, it opens up a great potential for growth. As the quote says, there is freedom in knowing we have that choice of how to respond…and that can change everything. Because it is in how we respond that sets the tone of how what happens to us plays out. And that gives us so much more command over our lives, rightly so. It also gives us more responsibility for our lives…but what is responsibility…but the ability to respond.

T3.png

“We tend to be held back from our goals by the simplicity of our comfort zones…but just how comfortable are we? Wouldn’t we be more content living in our dreams?”  ~ Michelle C. Ustaszeski

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

“The simplicity of our comfort zones”…This really caught my attention. Because I never thought of comfort zones as simplistic…but it makes sense. It may be “simpler” to stay in our comfort zones than it is to take the risk to break out of them. But as the quote says, how comfortable are we really within those zones? We create them because we are uncomfortable with something in our lives, but we are either afraid or unmotivated to make a change. So really, they do not offer us as much comfort as we would think. The question is ~ comfort vs. content. Should we settle for a comfort zone or aspire to be content by living in and following our dreams?

T4.jpg

“Understand that the right to choose your own path is a sacred privilege. Use it. Dwell in possibility.”  ~ Oprah Winfrey

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

We are fortunate in that we do have the ability and the right to choose our own path. We might think that circumstances force our path, and indeed, they do influence our progress. But…we are always at choice about what path we decide to follow. If we can remember that…even when it does not appear so…there are unlimited possibilities at our fingertips, then we will see that those paths are fluid and we can choose how and where those paths flow. Acknowledge this privilege, and honor your path by knowing it is a sacred gift and following its truth.

Trust In The Self

T6.jpg

“I mean to live my true life, and I embrace the means by which that will happen.” ~ MarDrag

“As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.”  ~ Goethe

“We have all a better guide in ourselves, if we would attend to it, than any other person can be.”  ~ Jane Austin

“Self-trust is the first secret of success.”  ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“When I’m trusting and being myself… everything in my life reflects this by falling into place easily, often miraculously.” ~ Shakti Gawain

“Trust that little voice in your head that says “Wouldn’t it be interesting if..”; And then do it.” ~ Duane Michals

T5.jpg

from the Desk of MarDrag:

To trust oneself, especially amid the pressures, obligations and stresses of today’s world…is often difficult. Reading over the quotes above, it sounds so easy, simple really. Doesn’t it? So, why do we struggle so with self-doubt, questioning ourselves and the voice of wisdom that comes from within. There are so many voices, internal and external, telling us what to do, how to do it, how to think or feel, or judging us for how we think and feel. It all gets so muddled, and our true self gets lost in the middle of it somewhere.

When we are faced with these daily challenges, the first thing we tend to do is doubt or question ourselves and our abilities, actions or understandings. Sometimes, it seems the difficulties win out, and we succumb to the overbearing negative voice that can boom so loudly telling us we should not trust ourselves to “get it right”.

T2.jpg

I love Jane Austin’s quote above that says we have an inner guide that is far better for us than any other person, place or thing that we may seek to guide us. In other words, looking within for guidance is the best choice. We have an innate wisdom, an inner wise voice that speaks to us all the time, if we but listen and “attend” to it. If we can take a moment to be quiet, and let that voice surface above all the other static….and give it attention……we can meet our inner guide and get to know them, become friends with that part of ourselves, take them with us as a companion throughout our day, trusting that they will always guide us in the right direction because we know they have our best interests in their heart. They/we want the best for us.

T4.jpg

The greatest gift we can give ourselves is self-trust. To give ourselves the benefit of the doubt and let go of the fear of error. We will make mistakes and wrong choices, but we will succeed if we learn from them, and therefore, build more self-trust. Believe in the value of your thread in the great tapestry, and the reason it is there. There is a reason (I believe) for everything happening in the way that it does, believe in the benefit of the Divine plan. If you believe in that, then you believe in yourself, because we are all an important and critical thread in the Divine tapestry.

T1.jpg

If things are not going “as planned”, look within for your inner guide and let them come forward to show you the way and trust yourself that you will bring yourself through it and triumph. How often in life do we say, Oh, years ago I went through a tough time, but I came out of it a stronger person. Reach out to the inner guide that brought you through it, they will be there again. When we believe in ourselves, when we trust ourselves….no matter what any circumstances around us look like…..we can’t help but do the right thing, and then, everything falls into place naturally. Trust that!

Do You Believe In Magic? ~ Repost

I have wanted to repost this post for awhile now, as I have seen in my stats that so many people are searching it out and reading it daily. It is a tough world out there…especially now…and we cannot let go of or forget that there is still Magic to be had…mystical things that light up life and guide us…things beyond what we see right before our eyes. It must be, for the alternative is bleak. So, keep that Magic alive within you and in your world. And let it spread to light your life and the lives of others. Blessings!

“I do believe in an everyday sort of magic — the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone.”  ~ Charles de Lint

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.”  ~ Ronald Dahl

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”  ~ W.B. Yeats

“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”  ~ Laini Taylor

“Magic exists. Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live.”  ~ Nora Roberts

“Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.” ~ Goethe

“That’s the thing about magic; you’ve got to know it’s still here, all around us, or it just stays invisible for you.”  ~ Charles de Lint

M1.jpg

from the Desk of MarDrag:

Do you believe in Magic? Do you believe there is energy around us, pulsing and moving and creating? Do you believe in the Magic of Belief? Or the Magic of Love…or the Magic of the Heart and the Mind?

I think, that in this chaotic and distressing world, we can lose sight of the Magic that exists, that Magic we believed in and saw in the world around us, as a child. That Magic that we created our dreams with. A child sees with unclouded eyes, with innocence that what it sees is undoubtedly true and real, even in their imagination. That is how dreams are born and manifest.  As we grow and experience more of the world, and its harshness, we lose so much of that innocence and ability to believe that there IS Magic all around us and that we can have it in our lives. If we just recognize it, as we look at the Magic of Nature. Or listen to the Magic of Music. Or feel the Magic of falling in love.

M3.jpg

But, there is also the Magic of Will, of Belief, of the Heart and of the Glowing Light within us that helps us create the life that we so desire. Or Will a solution to a problem to manifest. Or have the conviction that something we desire will come to us. Or even just the Magic of a Smile, to lighten someone’s day.

M2.jpg

Today, if even just for a moment, look around you and see if you can spot a bit of Magic and focus on that, draw it to you, feel the tingle of that something that is outside all practical thought. Just for a bit, open that part of yourself that dares to see past the severity of life to the enchantment and charm of possibilities when you tap into the Magic of Life. It is there. That glittering sense that there is so much more to what we see than what we see.

m4

Magic is everywhere…don’t forget to look. And when you look…Believe in what you see. And when you Believe…amazing things will happen.

Clarity in the Moment

C2.jpg

There is so much turmoil, confusion, and input designed to keep us confused and distracted that it is difficult to find Moments of Clarity within our days, let alone our Souls and Inner Selves. But…we must not forget that our Personal Power comes from these Moments of Clarity…and make that our daily focus.

c1

Simply this…to ask for Clarity in our daily search for who we are and what we are here to do. If we make Clarity the focus…rather than “how to get out of confusion”…then that moment of Clarity can shine through and find us.

C5.jpg

Today…just one day at a time…change the focus to asking for Clarity…and it will come.
