It’s Time To Be…

…Just Me and We. The planet is in turmoil and there is a lot to be done to help and save her…but the most important thing we can do to contribute to the magnificent energy needed to sway us toward the Light and Positive Action is…To Be Our Authentic and True Selves. Don’t fall into the trap of following the “norm”…be You…Be…

Today’s Selfie

This post is a prelude to a blog I am posting for the weekend. For today…a reminder about how important and beautiful and worthy the Self is. Take these messages in today and make them part of you, for you are special just in being you. And then, if you are inclined, come back tomorrow for more inspiration. My Love and Blessings to you All!

Get Out Of The Way Self-Literally!

Wii6

I have a new routine for getting my mind, body, and spirit back to optimum health after these last few years of surgeries and unpleasant health issues. Part of that routine is exercising every morning to start the day. I am not crazy about “exercising” (jumping jacks, etc) but I do like to get moving. So…I bought a Wii Sports and Dance…and have been going to town bowling, playing tennis, boxing, baseball, and dancing up a storm. THIS is the kind of exercise I like. It is fun, slightly competitive, and an awesome work out. My “fitness age” when I started was 71!! Too funny…quite a few years older than I am. Buuuut…after just a month my “fitness age” has gone down to 50, ten years younger than I am…and I guess this means I am feeling better. Yeah!

Getting moving doing something I enjoy is great. My mind is clearer, body is loosened up but tightened up where it counts, and no matter what mood I wake up in, by the time I am done with the work out…my outlook has changed and I am ready for the day. (Most of the time!)

But, a funny thing happened on the way to the Wii Tennis Court…

Wii2.jpg

Now, I have written blogs before about The Self, trusting it, and especially getting out of our own way…the way of our True Self. But that concept has never been so distinct until it came bouncing in, crystal clear, in an entirely different way when I got on the Wii Tennis Court.

Wii1

You see…in the game there is your character on the screen, swaggering around the top of the court, tennis racket in hand, swinging it back and forth showing off dexterity and moves…back hand, forehand…watch me jump to smack the ball! A good time and good exercise indeed. However…at the inside of the court is none other than…another Self! Yes indeed, just what I need, another Self. In theory, it should be a positive…it should help having two of me to tackle one little ball…right?! Not so! That dang little character gets in my way, swings for the ball when it is clearly mine, or distracts me by running back and forth across the court when the serve is coming at me and I have to decide,,,forehand or backhand. My forehand is crap…I have no idea why. I am trying to figure out why I can’t seem to hit the ball INTO the court with my forehand…but my backhand is blistering! I can hit anything with my backhand and send it spiraling waaay across the court in the opponent’s other direction. So I am a fairly good player…

…until that other Self gets in my way. Poignant…isn’t it?

Wii5.jpg

That dang little character trips me up and I end up shouting at her to just move and get out of my way. Something I have said in my head…to myself…oh so many times. Now…here it is, right there before me, in living color. I am literally watching myself get in my way and telling myself to stop it. Oh the irony of life. What a jokester!

Wii4.jpg

So, while I am getting mind, body and spirit into shape…apparently I am getting a very literal lesson on getting out of my own way as I embark on another chapter of my life. It is so perfect. Ya gotta just love how it all works sometimes, right?

Many Blessings!

BE YOU

This post continues the message that…though adversity can do its best to change us and make us sad and bitter…it cannot change the inner core of who we are if we do not let it. ALWAYS be Yourself! Stand in the truth of who you really are deep within, and the adversity does not stand a chance.

Love Yourself, Trust Yourself, and Be Yourself. Nothing else matters or wins.

Blessings!

Tuesday Affirmation ~ Believe In Your Self ~ Re-Post

B 1

I have been writing about other things lately and have not done an “Affirmation Tuesday” post in a while. The cards called for me this morning…and so, as always, I answer the summons. The card that came to hand with today’s message is:

Affirmation of Perseverance: “I Believe In Myself Now, Always, And In All Ways”

Message: Use this gift when you feel like a failure or others seem to doubt your abilities. Your strengths and weaknesses are yours to experience and learn from in your own time. Accept yourself just as you are now, knowing that the mistakes you have made helped guide the direction of your personal growth. It is never too late to change.”

B 5

from The Desk of MarDrag:

It is always easier to accept ourselves and recognize our abilities when things are going well and working in our lives. We can see the benefit of our fine qualities and skills and feel some pride for having accomplished something good and worthy.

But, let us fail a time or two, and the story we tell ourselves is profoundly different. Often at these times, the story we hear from others is negative also, and we chastise and flog ourselves with disdain and disappointment for having failed, or for not being able to fix what is not working. And then…we doubt those same qualities we were once proud of.

But, if we could remember that we all, each and every one of us, have strengths as well as weaknesses, then we could know that success and failure are all just part of life…and if we live life to the fullest…we will all have a helping of both that fills our plate.

B 2

The affirmation is so true…mistakes help guide us to knowledge and personal growth. A mistake or misjudgment is what lets us know we need to learn more about ourselves and our circumstances. We always have the option to learn and grow…so we are never truly stuck in one state or another.

No matter what anyone else thinks…and in spite of what you may tell yourself…Believe in your Personal Power and the Power to Change. Nothing ever stays the same. It is the one fact we can count on…change.

So, accept yourself, in all your glorious imperfectness…embrace your strengths and weaknesses…and follow the direction that your inner voice of experience guides you to. And too, if something is not working, do not clog your self-worth with words of chastisement. Instead, tell yourself you Believe in the Gift of Perseverance…and coupled with the constant of change…you can be sure that you will, indeed, grow and move forward.

Weekend Inspiration ~ Life Force

LF 14

Life Force…that spark of fire and energy that lives at the Core of our being. From where Strength, Courage, Vitality, and Peace of Mind flows. Our Life Force can take many hits in a day, and it can become depleted when we face difficulties, or even just managing the negative energy that filters through the world right now. But…just like our Core Self, our Core Strength…our spark of Life Force never goes out. It is that thing that will always burn inside us…but is up to us to fan into a brilliant fire. Today, let us focus on replenishing our Life Force. Do what feeds our souls today, our Life Force. And know that, no matter how tough things get…the flame of our Life Force can never be vanquished. Let us Feel our Life Force, see it vibrate and grow, and flow through us, reminding us we are Empowered in our lives and we can rise above…anything.

Each of us has a Life Force that is Unique, Individual, and Special…there is no other like it…and it is an Important Force in the world. Without it, the Universal Fire would be missing a Valuable Flame.

Here is some inspiration to help us draw that Life Force up in full bloom. And may it be a wonderful weekend for all! Blessings!

Monday Message ~ Compassion

Good Morning! In keeping with our tradition here, to seek guidance and wisdom for a message to begin our week with…I turned to my set of “Angel Cards” by Kathy Taylor and Joy Drake to see what message they had for us today. As I closed my eyes and ran my hands through the cards, the one that surfaced and stuck to my fingers was:

Compassion

Compassion

I long ago lost the book that went with these cards, but it is not difficult to ascertain the message this one is sending us today. The world, and many of those in it, have turned hard. There are so many who judge, ridicule, and hate…too many…and it seems that Compassion and Kindness have been put in the background. So too, when we forget to have Compassion for others, we forget to have it for ourselves…and it creates a pattern that is not easy to change. We have to actively desire to change this pattern…and that begins with ourselves.

Compassion 4

Today, let us carry this word Compassion in our minds. Carry its meaning in our hearts. And let it work through us in action. Begin by looking in the mirror and letting our Self know we have Compassion for our own paths and the trials set forth on that path, the struggles we overcome to continue on that path, and then endeavor to show ourselves Kindness and Gentleness, nurture ourselves with Love and Understanding…for we are Warriors trying to make a difference and find some Happiness to live too. We deserve to show ourselves Compassion, rather than judgment, fear, or disappointment. Our paths are what they are for a reason.

Compassion 2

So too, are the paths of others. So we are called to take that Compassion out into the world and Shine it brightly. Look to our neighbor, co-worker, stranger…and know they have their story too, their road strewn with pebbles obstacles too. And as we share that Compassion with others, it grows within us, and spreads out like a great lovely mist, sprinkling sweet gentle energy over us and others to balance and transform those negative energies that would think they have the power.

Let us show them just how powerful Compassion can be…and change the world, our world, a bit today.

Compassion 3

My own heart reaches out to All of you, in deep Compassion as you manage your life and path. I know it is not always easy, and sometimes downright painful…but know you make a difference in this world…simply by being you. So I turn my heart toward you and let my Compassion flow to you. May it envelope you in a warm, loving embrace of nurturing and support.

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ Flow

Happy Monday my Good Readers! I hope you had a wonderful…and Comforting…weekend. It is the start of the week, so our Monday Message post is at hand. This time, we are seeking our message from the Runes…so I plunge my hand into the bag of stones and pull one for us. Pulling “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum to me…I set down the stone and see that it is…

Laguz 1

Laguz:   “Flow, Water, That Which Conducts”

Message (paraphrased): “Unseen powers are active here, creative and fertile powers of Nature. The attributes of this Rune are water, fluidity, the ebb and flow of tides and emotions, of careers and relationships. Laguz fulfills our need to immerse ourselves in the experience of living without having to evaluate or understand. It speaks to the desire for comfort and the satisfaction of emotional needs, to the lunar side of our nature. For, while the sun strives for differentiation, the moon draws us toward unity and merging.

This Rune often signals a time for cleansing: for revaluing, reorganizing, realigning. A Rune of deep knowing, Laguz may call you to study spiritual matters in readiness for self-transformation. Success now lies in contacting your intuitive knowing, in attuning to your own rhythms. A Rune of the Self relating rightly to the Self, Laguz signifies what alchemists called the conjunctio, or sacred marriage. In fairy tales, it is the end where the hero and heroine live happily ever after”.

Laguz 2

from The Desk of MarDrag:

So, the start of the message this week is to still “go with the flow”…a reminder that we all need to hear sometimes. It is often difficult to go with the flow, especially if it appears the flow is taking us other than where we think we want to go. We question, ponder, and seek answers…but at times, it is called for to keep moving whether we have all the answers or fully understand or not. There are times when understanding does not come until we have moved through the circumstance. Would we hold our flow back or stop it for this?

Laguz 3

The word “Comfort” also comes up here, and I have been feeling this for everyone. I wish I could hold all of you in my arms, stroke your hair, and whisper comforting words to you. I think we all need a great deal of Comfort in these difficult days, but mostly get precious little of it. That is why it is so important to remember we can give Comfort to ourselves. Yes, it is nice to get it from others, but if we can’t, then we should not let ourselves down by withholding it from ourselves. Seek Comfort!

Laguz 4

And finally…we will find a deeper understanding, or knowing, as we take time to reorganize any chaotic thoughts, or chaos in our surroundings. With cleansing comes clarity. Do deep breathing exercises, meditate, or do cleansing and grounding exercises. Make them part of our daily routine. In doing these, we access our intuitive side and find our own unique rhythm. Make the time! Because, with this, we form a deeper relationship with the Self…and in coming together with our True Self…magic happens…and fairy tales, dreams, and desires come true!

Blessings!

Commitment To Self

“The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred…unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Commit 1

from The Desk of MarDrag:

I posted this quote on last Thursday’s “Thoughts For The Day” blog, and since then, I have repeated it many times and expounded on its message. I have not been able to get it off my mind…and so…I am called to write about it again and further the message.

As I pondered the quote, meditated on it and asked for expansion on its message, several things came to me. The first was the concept of Commitment To Self to begin with. We spend a great deal of our energy making commitments to all other things around us…family, work, obligations, things we do not want to do but do anyway…but how often do we consciously make commitments to ourselves? Do we put the same time, effort and energy into obligations to ourselves…or to the choices and decisions that we make?

Commit Choice

The quote above says, “the moment one definitely commits to oneself, then Providence moves too”. Reading this over and over, the absolute truth of it came clear, and it occurred to me that, it is an important concept we might be leaving out of our life process.

It occurred to me that, when we make a choice, if we are not sure of it, or commit 100% to that choice, that we automatically leave a space open for it not to work. We pray for things, ask for things to happen, make choices, make decisions, but if we do not commit to believing in the possibility of them coming to us, or in the energy at work around them…then how can they possibly manifest?

Commit 3

If we would believe that the Higher Powers, the Universe, wants to give us what we want…if we are not sure of that, or committed to our choices, they cannot give it. If we are one day thinking “yes”, and the next thinking “no” or “not sure”…or worse, giving up on the choice before it has time to form…then those Higher Powers are looking at a virtual ping pong ball…and all they see is confusion…not certainty. And what is not certain cannot manifest. And then, we become disappointed and despondent and stop making choices altogether. Sending us into a whirlpool of confusion and misery.

Commit 2

Yesterday’s post was about using this holding pattern time to explore our deeper selves, our shadow sides, to look within and mend what is not right with our True Self. By doing this…we will clear away that which keeps us from KNOWING what we truly want to choose for ourselves, our true paths, and with that, we can then make a clear and concise commitment to our choices…because they will come from the depth of our souls and will be the best for us. And it is then that Providence begins to work…and all manner of things happen to support that choice. Once the commitment is there…the choice can be supported and unexpected things come about to make it happen.

Commit DecisionCommit to the search of your soul…Commit to working out whatever is holding you back…Commit to doing what is best for you…and Commit to the choices that result from that work. It is from that Commitment that what is right for you will manifest…and where Happiness and Fulfillment derive.

Blessings!
