Monday Message ~ Repost

Good Monday Morning! And happy start to a new year and a new week. I have alot to write about for this new beginning, but for this morning, I have a repost that will hopefully help us begin to focus on what is going to help get us through this tough and confusing time. After our mid-week funnies, I will have new posts that, I hope, will help…so look for them later in the week. Today…and one day at a time…Be You and Shine! Blessings!

M7.jpg

I turn to the Rune’s today for the nugget of wisdom we will take with us into the week. As I draw “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum to me and plunge into the bag of stones, the Rune that comes to hand is:

M1.png

Mannaz: “The Self”

Message (paraphrased): “The starting point is always with the Self. The essence is water. Only clarity, willingness to change, is effective now. A correct relationship to yourself is primary, for from it flows all possible correct relationships with others and with the Divine.

Remain modest – that is the Rune’s counsel. Regardless of how great may be your merit, be yielding, devoted and moderate, for then you have true direction for your way of life.

Be in the world but not of it. That is implicit here. And yet, do not be closed, narrow or judging. Remain receptive to impulses flowing from the Divine within and without. Strive to live the ordinary life in a non-ordinary way. Remember at all times what is coming to be and passing away, and focus on that which abides. This is the time of major growth and rectification and, as a rule, rectification must come before progress.

This is not a time to seek credit for accomplishments or to focus on results. Rather, be content to do your task for the tasks sake. This is more of a problem for those whose eyes are always on the goal than it is for those who have not forgotten how to play and can more easily lose themselves in doing the work, for its own sake. Herein lies the secret of experiencing a true present.

Balancing is called for now – the Self is required to balance the Self. Nothing in excess. Know thyself.”

M2.jpg

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Of all the struggles we have in life, the greatest struggle is always with the Self. We have so many aspects of life that influence our thoughts and behavior, that we are constantly dialoguing with ourselves about what, when, who, how, and why. What Mannaz is telling us today is…that all of that “stuff” is not as important as the cultivating of the relationship of the Self to the Self. That should be our primary focus…because if our relationship to our Self is healthy and in Balance…then all else flows from that relationship, and flows “rightly”.

We are conditioned to think that if we just had “this”, or if “that’ would just happen, we would be content. With that as our focus, we are always looking outside and ahead of ourselves for something to make everything “right”. But that is a fallacy…for nothing can make us happy, content, and balanced…but ourselves and our relationship with our Self.

M4.jpg

Mannaz says, “Be in the world, but not of it”…meaning…seek to know thyself with clarity and willingness to change and progress. Learn from the world around us, but do not become embedded in its confusion. Rise above the mundane and nurture the relationship with the Divine…whatever that means to us. Because it is there that we will find the answers we seek and the contentment too. And most importantly…the Balance. (Take on the task to connect or reconnect with our Spiritual exploration and work to aid us).

M3.jpg

And finally…take on this task, and any task in life, for the tasks sake and not for the goal. It is in the doing the task that enlightenment and accomplishment comes…the goal is the reward. It is in focusing and being in the moment with our tasks that we experience the true feeling of being present in our lives…and we will not miss important clues and messages.

M5.jpg

So the message today is…be present in every moment of every day, take life tasks on for the sake of the task and what we learn from it and how we accomplish it, and most of all…seek to cultivate, clarify, and focus on our relationship to the Self, which leads us to the Divine and Balance so that we can live our best life. Which is what we, ultimately, all seek.

Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush and Go With The Flow

Flow 1

Hello My Darling Readers! Once again, I must apologize for being away for so long, especially when I thought I would be back in some form of frequency. But, alas, complications have risen and I am now “going round the mulberry bush” of endless doctors appointments and tests and more tests that lead, still, to another surgery I had hoped would be sooner than later. But…I am clinging to the bush and pushing through the brambles…determined that there is a path hiding there somewhere that leads out of this forest. I know there is…and I shall come upon it soon.

So, for inspiration today, I pulled my bag of Runes to my warm hands and plunged in in search of a message to take with us this week. Of course, the Runes in their brilliance, cast the message just as needed.

Take it with you, in your hearts, minds, and souls…and no matter what is dragging you round the mulberry bush this week...trick it…and go with the Flow instead! Wink!

Blessings and Love to you all…and See you Soon!

Flow 3

Laguz: Flow, Water, That Which Conducts (original post 4/21/14)

Message (paraphrased): Unseen powers are active here, creative and fertile powers of Nature. The attributes of this Rune are water, fluidity, the ebb and flow of tides and emotions, of careers and relationships. Laguz fulfills our need to immerse ourselves in the experience of living without having to evaluate or understand. It speaks to the desire for comfort and the satisfaction of emotional needs, to the lunar side of our nature. For, while the sun strives for differentiation, the moon draws us toward unity and merging.

This Rune often signals a time for cleansing: for revaluing, reorganizing, realigning. A Rune of deep knowing, Laguz may call you to study spiritual matters in readiness for self-transformation. Success now lies in contacting your intuitive knowing, in attuning to your own rhythms. A Rune of the Self relating rightly to the Self, Laguz signifies what alchemists called the conjunctio, or sacred marriage. In fairy tales, it is the end where the hero and heroine live happily ever after”.

Flow 2

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Go with the Flow. We have all heard that phrase, often! And sometimes it is not as easy as others to follow its advice. But Laguz is telling us today that, no matter what circumstances may look like, go with the Flow of what is happening. There are unseen powers and energies at work around us that help contribute to where our paths take us. It is these forces that are active when we are creating, or working to create something in our lives…a new job, a projects success, manifesting a relationship, maintaining our current path. Our job is to keep to our spiritual work on ourselves, evaluate what we think we really want from life, and stay in touch with our intuition and our own rhythms to help guide us to self-transformation.

The Flow of life is much like the flow of a river…there is a current our lives ride along on our path. The river twists and turns, and sometimes has to find a way over rocks and pebbles and obstacles…but it always trickles through and polishes those rocks until they are smooth and the Flow can resume its natural path.

So, if there are obstacles in the way, go with the Flow, and it will work itself out, naturally. We cannot push the river. It Flows at its own pace, as our lives have their pace too, and we must trust our paths, our rivers, the nature of our Flow, to instinctively know its direction. Sometimes we understand the direction, but sometimes it is not as clear until we reach the bend that takes us in that direction. It is not always possible to understand why things happen the way they do. So, we must Trust our Self and our path…and go with the Flow.

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ New Beginnings

Good Morning! It is the start of a new week, and time for our Monday Message. I turn to the Runes this morning for what wisdom they shall give and, as I draw a stone from its velvet perch, I seek the message from “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum. Here is what they say:

Inguz 1

Inguz: “Fertility, New Beginnings”

Message (paraphrased): “This Rune is akin to the moon, the intuitive part of our nature, with its urge toward harmonizing and adjusting in the sphere of personal relationships, with others as well as ourselves.

The completion of beginnings is what Inguz requires. It may mark a time of joyous deliverance, a new life, a new path. A Rune of great power, drawing it means you now have the strength to achieve completion, resolution, from which comes a new beginning. Above all, completion is crucial here. It may be timely that you complete a project now…and if so, make that your first priority. Perhaps a difficult state of mind can be resolved, clarified, turned around. The appearance of this Rune indicates that you must fertilize the ground for your own deliverance.

Inguz signals your emergence from a closed, chrysalis state. All things change and we cannot live permanently amid obstructions. As you resolve and clear away the old, you will experience release from tension and uncertainty. You may be required to free yourself from a rut, habit, or relationship that was proper to the self you are leaving behind.

Inguz counsels preparation. Be centered and grounded, free yourself from all unwanted influences, and be prepared to open yourself to a new beginning with calm certainty.”

Inguz 5

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Life is a cycle of New Beginnings, Experiences, Completions, and New Beginnings again. We follow this pattern over and over. And today…Inguz is telling us we are ready for the completion of a beginning so that we may have another new beginning. That might make our heads spin…but there is great truth in it.

The main message here from Inguz is that, in order to move forward with clean, clear energy…we must complete what we have already begun to make way for that new part of life, the new path. It is always best, when moving on to new things, to finish, what we had started before, so that we can complete that cycle and leave nothing in the way of a fresh start. We do not want to bring with us into a New Beginning anything that belongs in the past, or is not resolved. It will muddle and confuse us in the Light of a New Chapter. If you think about it…each chapter of a book is, in itself, a complete work…with the end of each chapter having its “last word” which leads us to the beginning of a new chapter, a new work on its own. And those chapters link together to make an entire book, and entire life. If we stand back and observe the book as a whole, much like our lives, we will see that each chapter flows with a new page through to the end, and then begins again anew.

Inguz 6

The other message today from Inguz is one of Strength. It signals the end of a “frozen state”. Leaving this “closed” state, breaking through it, gives us Strength and Energy. There is so much truth to the statement that we cannot live permanently amid obstructions. The good times may pass…but so do the difficult times. There is always passage beyond obstructions. What we need to be aware of is…how do we pass through them? Inguz suggests that we pass through them by releasing the old, letting go of what created them, and cleansing and grounding ourselves in preparation for a new path. When we clear away the old, we relieve ourselves of the stress of holding on to something that belongs to the past, and we free the space for something new to replace it.

Inguz 3

So, we prepare ourselves for a New Beginning. Put our focus on clearing out anything that no longer serves us…an attitude, thoughts, a job, people, old ideas of self…anything that belongs to the old self. In the act of clearing, tension releases, we feel better, and the New Beginning can take root in new and clean energy.

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ A Journey, Communication

Good Morning! It is time to begin another week and seek our message to take with us and guide us. For that message, the Runes spoke strongly this morning, and so I take the stones in hand, draw close “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum…and seek their words of wisdom. The stone that presented itself for today is:

R 1

Raido: “A Journey, Communication, Union”

Message (paraphrased): “Raido is another Rune in the cycle of Self-Transformation. This Rune is concerned with communication, with the attunement of something that has two sides, two elements, and with the ultimate reunion that comes at the end of a journey, when what is above and what is below are united and of one mind. Moreover, this union is realized from within rather than through the force of circumstances.

Inner worth mounts here, and at such a time, we must remember that we are not intended to rely entirely upon our own power, but rather to ask what constitutes right action. Ask the teacher within. Once you are clear, you can neutralize your refusal to let right action flow through you. Not intent on movement, be content to wait, and keep removing all resistance, As the obstructions give way, all remorse arising from “trying to make it happen” disappears.

As always, the journey is toward Self-Healing, Self-Change, and Union. But the perfect union of Heaven and Earth, above and below, cannot be forced. Trust your own process – that is the essence of this Rune. Keep on cutting away illusions. Innermost feeling, spontaneously expressed is what is called for now. Raido urges you to undertake your Journey, your Quest – and if you have already begun…to continue.”

R 2

from The Desk of MarDrag:

And so, steadfastly on our journeys, Raido tells us to continue…to not give up now…that the union within, of above and below, is imminent. That is, our spiritual self and our mundane physical self are within reach of union. And is that not what we strive for? To combine our spiritual life with our everyday life, and make them one, as a perfect union, so that we may live and enjoy our lives, fulfill our life’s purpose and realize our dreams, and assist the world in its healing. Stay with that!

Though we may look for answers or validation of this union from circumstances around us, Raido tells us that the realization comes from within, and not forced through what happens to us. It also tells us that we are not alone in this, that forces are at work around us, and so we must wait at times for those forces to complete their task before we can resume ours. BUT…in that waiting period, we are not idle. This is the time to work on ourselves and clear away all obstructions and resistance, to open the channel, and then ask our inner Wiser Self what is the “right action”. As we listen and continue to clear away resistance to the circumstances we are faced with, then right action can flow through us and we can let go of “trying to make it happen” and allow it to happen as it is meant to be. As it is right, for us.

R 3

So too, communication is of utmost importance here. Communication with the Self, but also in relationships and all matters. We must be conscious and aware of how we communicate with ourselves, those around us, and out in the world. Are we communicating to the best of our ability, and with care? And, what we communicate has power, so we must be clear about what we “put out there”…because it does have impact on our lives, and also on the lives around us.

R 4

Our life’s Journey is always toward the Self and the perfect union of above and below within. Trust that Journey, that process. If you are not sure where that Journey is taking you, stand firm and be patient, remove obstructions and resistance to it, and allow the forces without and within, above and below, to merge into a perfect flow of Power and Rightness to guide you on your Quest. And do not ever give up on that Journey. You are needed, honored, cherished, and loved.

R 5

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ Flow of The True Self

Good Monday Morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I am up early, seeking our message to begin our week and take with us through it with wisdom. The Runes are speaking this morning, so I pulled “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum close, and the Rune that fell into my palm was:

L 1

Laguz: Flow, Water, That Which Conducts

L 2

from The Desk of MarDrag:

I have written a great deal lately about the importance of living our True Life and being our True Self. Now, it is more important than ever, as we see the turbulence in the world ramp up and become disheartening and frightening. Laguz, the Rune of deep knowing, calls on us to do that very thing…to reach deeply into our Spiritual Self and align with our intuition, which leads to our True Self. Now is the time to lay aside the lies we tell ourselves, the pain of the past, and the self-incriminating ideas that we are not enough. Our True Self is always enough because that is where our True Nature lies. And, whenever we live in our truth, positive energy thrives.

L 3

Laguz once again reminds us that unseen powers are at work. Those forces around us that we cannot see, but are present and moving and creating around us. Some of that creation looks hazardous…but we cannot succumb, we must dig deep and find that Spiritual Warrior and make ready for self-transformation…which will aid the world in its transformation. If each of us do this, the Light we create will link, and balance will be restored. Just by being our True Self, and living by our own True Nature, we help the balance of the tides that are ebbing.

L 4

Some of this we can understand…but there are many things we do not or cannot understand at the moment, but that should not stop us from moving forward and doing what we know we need to do. Often…the understanding comes after we have been brave enough to keep moving, even when we are not sure where we are going.

Right now, we may not be sure of “where”…but we can be sure of “how”…by accessing our intuition, tapping into our own individual rhythm, and aligning with our True Self. And going with the Flow that comes from living our True Life.

L 5

We must Flow with the tides, not against them, as we align and link. This is important…if we are to have our fairy tale happy ending. Which…I believe…is still possible.

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ The Self

Good Monday Morning! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend enjoying the summer. For our Monday Message , I turn to the Rune’s today for the nugget of wisdom we will take with us into the week. As I draw “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum to me and plunge into the bag of stones, the Rune that comes to hand is:

That should be our primary focus…because if our relationship to our Self is healthy and in Balance…then all else flows from that relationship, and flows “rightly”.

Monday Message ~ Warrior Energy ~ Re-Post

Good Monday Morning! For our weekly message today, I am re-posting a blog I wrote about 6 months ago…but it is timely to post it again as it appears everyone is having a rough time and needing some encouragement and a reminder of their “Warrior Energy”. We all have it, but we get tired sometimes, worn out and worn down with all that we deal with in our lives, and seeing what is happening in the world around us too.  It can get discouraging…and My Heart goes out to each and every one of you who are feeling this. Stay steady on your course. This is a time of  difficult things, but the wheel is turning and nothing stays the same…so we can count on change to come.

I hope this post helps you get through it…and reminds you of the strong, clever, capable Warrior that you are, the courage you have, and the will to keep going.  I believe in you! Take it one day at a time…one minute if you have to…and know that better days are ahead. Have Faith…and Trust in yourself and your Path. Deep breaths now…

_______

SW 1

From “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum:

Teiwaz: “Warrior Energy”

Message (paraphrased): “This is the Rune of the Spiritual Warrior. Always the battle of the Spiritual Warrior is with the Self. Funding a will through action, yet unattached to outcomes, remaining mindful that all you can really do is stay out of your own way and let the Will of Heaven flow through you – these are the hallmarks of the Spiritual Warrior.

Embodied in this Rune is the energy of discrimination, the sword-like quality that enables us to cut away the old, the dead, the extraneous. Patience is the virtue of this Rune, and the molding of character.

Here you are asked to look within, to delve down to the foundations of your life itself. Only in so doing can you hope to deal with the deepest needs of your nature and to tap into your most profound resources. Associated with the Rune are the sun, masculine energy, the active principle. The urge toward conquest is prominent here, especially self-conquest, which is a life-long pursuit and calls for awareness, single-mindedness and the willingness to undergo your passage without anxiety and in total trust.

This Warrior Rune counsels perseverance, although at times, the kind of perseverance called for is patience. What are your priorities? How are you using your energy? Teiwaz is a Rune of courage and dedication and strengthens your resolve in the struggle of the Self with the Self.”

SW 2

from the Desk of MarDrag:

And so, the year of the Spiritual Warrior begins. The energy is accelerating, movement forward has begun, a new phase is at hand. And the Warrior within is being called to action. As the Rune says…we are being called to look within and delve down to the deepest depth of our nature, our souls, seeking the truth of who we really are…our True Self. It is when our Surface Self is in battle with our True Self that we become confused and clarity is clouded.

Only in going deep within to get to know our True Nature can we know what we truly need…and also…tap into the unlimited and profound resources within to create and/or draw to us the fulfillment of those needs and desires. We must be absolutely honest with ourselves about our deepest nature. And deep within that nature, is the Spiritual Warrior.

A Spiritual Warrior has the magic swordlike quality to cut through the cr*p…to cut away the old, stale layers to get to that True Nature. In this new year, it is time to wield that sword and strike through the muck…cleanse it away…and allow the True Self to emerge. To cut away the attachments from last year so that we can move freely into this one before us. Only then will we know our True Path. And when we do this with single-mindedness and awareness…then anxiety and stress will dissolve and we will find the gift of perseverance comes to us to aid us in walking our path in Total Trust.

Seek your Source, Spiritual Warrior! Draw your Source to you, let it flow into you, and fill you with its Power, your Power.

And then persevere…which sometimes means…be patient. The art of a Warrior is knowing when to be patient, to lie in wait, until it is time to strike…with success.

So garb yourself in your Spiritual Warrior cloak. Take up your sword and fight for your life…your True Life…and then step out of your own way and let your Source flow through you…guiding you always in the right direction.

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ Fertile Season

Good Monday Morning! Today’s post brings us our regular Monday Message to take into the week with a bit of wisdom to help us along. This week, we consult the Runes for that message. And so, with my well-used, tattered and worn “Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum before me, I tumble the stones in their bag until one finds its way to my palm. The Rune that shows itself for us today is:

Jera 1

Jera: “Harvest, Fertile Season, One Year

Message (paraphrased): “A Rune of beneficial outcomes, Jera applies to any activity or endeavor to which you are committed. Receiving this Rune encourages you to keep your spirits up. Be aware, however, that no quick results can be expected. A span of time always is involved, a full cycle of time before the reaping, the Harvest or deliverance.

You have prepared the ground and planted the seed. Now you must cultivate with care. To those whose labor has a long season, Jera offers encouragement of success. Know that the outcome is in the keeping of Providence and continue to persevere.

Remember the farmer who was so eager to assist his crops that he went out at night and tugged on the new shoots. There is no way to push the river; equally you cannot hasten the Harvest. Be mindful that patience is essential for the recognition of your own process which, in its season, leads to the Harvest of the Self.”

Golden field

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Well, there is a little of the good, and a little of the frustrating in this message today. On one hand, Jera is telling us that much of our hard work, planning, and planting of seeds is coming to fruition…or to harvest. It encourages us to stay our course and stay positive…and to cultivate those seeds and take care with our plans as we wait for them to unfold. And there brings the frustrating aspect…

…the wait. Sometimes, plans, goals, and moving forward take a bit of time to fall into place. We, then, are called upon to be patient, and that is not always easy in this fast-paced, instant access world we live in. We need or want things to happen now…and while some do…some take more time to ripen and come to full bloom and we cannot rush that process to be done before its time. As Jera says, we cannot push the river, or pull the shoots from the soil before they are fully grown and ready for the picking. If we move too soon or too quickly, we lose the benefit of our growth maturing to its fullest and we then cannot reap its full benefits.

Jera 3

With a little patience, we can gain the best of what we are gestating. But, while we wait, it is important to keep working at our endeavor and cultivating it until it is the best we can create, and we will be that much happier with the results for the wait. Because it is then that we get what we ask for.

Jera 5

So, we must be as clear as possible on what we want, and what we do to cultivate it. We must Persevere…and not lose hope or belief in what we are doing. If we recognize our process as necessary to the success of the outcome, then we can let the process flow and let go of the stress and worry of how it will turn out. This takes Trust, in ourselves and our path. Nurture that trust as we cultivate what we have planted…and we will see the shoots and blossoms from our efforts grow strong, beautiful, and fulfilling.

Jera 4

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ Patience

Good Monday Morning! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day. I woke seeking our message of wisdom to take us into the week, and the Runes spoke up today, wishing to send their message. As I pulled “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum to me and plunged my hand into the velvet bag that holds the stones…the one that came to hand is:

Eihwaz 1

Eihwaz: Patience, Avertive Powers

Message (paraphrased): “As we are tested we fund the power to avert blockage and defeat. At the same time, we develop in ourselves an aversion to the conduct that creates stressful situations in our lives. There appears to be blockage in your path, but even a delay may prove beneficial. Do not be overly eager to press forward. This is not a time or situation in which you can make your influence felt. Patience is the counsel Eiwahz offers.

Perseverance and foresight are called for here. The ability to foresee consequences before you act is the mark of a profound person. Avert anticipated difficulties through right action. Even more than doers, we are deciders. Once our decision is clear, the doing becomes effortless, for then the universe supports and empowers our action.

Through discomfort, growth is promoted. This may well be a trying time, certainly it is a meaningful one. Be clear, be patient, and all that is right for you will come.”

Eihwaz 4

from The Desk of MarDrag:

We are creators. And when we have a passion or a goal, we are taught to go after it with all our will and might. And, rightly so. If we want something bad enough, we have to give it our all to create or manifest it. And this is as it should be.

But, too, on that path to creation and manifestation, there is a time to allow the effort and energy we have put into play to work for us, along with the forces and powers around us that aid in our creation as well. Or…simply to allow the right place and the right time to occur so we get our maximum benefit of our creation.

Eihwaz 2

In other words…there is a time to act…and a time to be patient and wait. Not everything works in our preferred time frame or exactly as we may want it too. Most of the time when it doesn’t, there is a reason, or something even better than what we wanted waiting for us…and we may see blockage or obstacles in our path. There are times to break through those obstacles, and there are times when it is necessary to have faith and patiently wait for them to be removed by forces other than our own. We may see this as defeat…but surely it is not…as it will always lead us to another destination, perhaps more right than where we were headed.

So…we must, more than ever, listen to that inner wise voice that tells us when to act and when to have patience. When we listen to that voice, to that gut instinct, and follow it…that is called Right Action. And sometimes Right Action means to wait. We can stop ourselves from stumbling into or through something we did not have to if we had listened and waited.

If you are experiencing what appears to be blockage, defeat, or discomfort…ask yourself if action is the right move at the moment, or if Right Action would be to pause, and get a clearer picture on what is going on before you make any decisions. Because once a decision is made, movement happens. We just want that movement to be that of Right Action…which leads us to the right and best things for us.

As the Rune says…this may be a trying time…but is surely a meaningful one too. Through adversity we grow. So take a deep breath, listen to your instinctive voice, and follow it. Consider that waiting is a type of action too. And recognize that, by averting unnecessary consequences, we reduce stress in our lives. And from this…good things will come.

Monday Message ~ Go With The Flow

Good Monday Morning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the Spring weather and holiday. In preparing for today’s weekly message, the Runes called to me this time. So I held the velvet bag that contains the stones in my warm hands and asked what message they would impart for us to follow this week. As I pulled “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum close, the Rune that fell into my palm was:

Flow5

Laguz: Flow, Water, That Which Conducts

Flow 1

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Blessings!
