Have Patience

EGBOK ~ Really! ~ Repost

Did reading that make you giggle just a little bit and say whaaa…? It has a good sound, like something you want to repeat a couple of times because it rolls off your tongue in a cheeky kind of way. (See what I did there?) Anyway, I learned this at a self-help seminar many years ago, when they were all the rage, but it stuck with me and I have used it many times over the years. I do not know if there is an “author” or inventor of this little gem to give credit to, I do not know the origin of it, but if there is, consider yourself credited and thanked for this little quip that may sound funny but carries a potent message. It seemed a good thing to say today.

Repeat this affirmation as many times as you need to today…and pass it on. It is easy to say when you can’t get all the words out yourself. And, it can make a difference.

Closer Than Farther

W2.jpg

We all have “things” we are waiting for…events, plans, holidays, vacations, dreams to come true…etc. We even have negative situations that might loom or we know we are looking to come. I do, in fact, have one such very positive situation I am waiting for its conclusion to take place.  And then I can begin another wonderful adventure. And sometimes…shock!…I can get impatient.

W6.jpg

But, something occurred to me over the weekend that caused me to look at it this way:

Every day, every moment, every thought…brings me one day, moment, or thought closer to what I am waiting for.

W3.jpg

No matter what we are waiting for or looking forward to…impatience only makes it seem longer in coming. When we focus on the anxiety of waiting, and hoping for swiftness, and frustration that it is not happening in the time we wish it to…we are just adding to the anxiety and exasperation, making us edgy and cranky and cuts into our desire for daily inner peace.

W5.jpg

If we can accept that everything comes in its own time when it is meant to, do our spiritual work for its conclusion, and relax into its inevitability…than we can retain that daily peace, let go of impatience and frustration, and stay balanced and focused on all the other things that need our attention.

Keeping the focus and belief on the outcome, goal, destination, or completion keeps us from getting entangled in impatience and wasting that energy…because what is coming will come whether we spend that time in irritation or peaceful belief.

W7.jpg

So this is it: Every day, moment, breath…brings us ever closer to what we desire, dream, plan, or wait for. Spend that time in the belief and peace that it comes. And our quality of life gets ever richer.

Monday Message ~ Fertile Season

Good Monday Morning! Today’s post brings us our regular Monday Message to take into the week with a bit of wisdom to help us along. This week, we consult the Runes for that message. And so, with my well-used, tattered and worn “Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum before me, I tumble the stones in their bag until one finds its way to my palm. The Rune that shows itself for us today is:

Jera 1

Jera: “Harvest, Fertile Season, One Year

Message (paraphrased): “A Rune of beneficial outcomes, Jera applies to any activity or endeavor to which you are committed. Receiving this Rune encourages you to keep your spirits up. Be aware, however, that no quick results can be expected. A span of time always is involved, a full cycle of time before the reaping, the Harvest or deliverance.

You have prepared the ground and planted the seed. Now you must cultivate with care. To those whose labor has a long season, Jera offers encouragement of success. Know that the outcome is in the keeping of Providence and continue to persevere.

Remember the farmer who was so eager to assist his crops that he went out at night and tugged on the new shoots. There is no way to push the river; equally you cannot hasten the Harvest. Be mindful that patience is essential for the recognition of your own process which, in its season, leads to the Harvest of the Self.”

Golden field

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Well, there is a little of the good, and a little of the frustrating in this message today. On one hand, Jera is telling us that much of our hard work, planning, and planting of seeds is coming to fruition…or to harvest. It encourages us to stay our course and stay positive…and to cultivate those seeds and take care with our plans as we wait for them to unfold. And there brings the frustrating aspect…

…the wait. Sometimes, plans, goals, and moving forward take a bit of time to fall into place. We, then, are called upon to be patient, and that is not always easy in this fast-paced, instant access world we live in. We need or want things to happen now…and while some do…some take more time to ripen and come to full bloom and we cannot rush that process to be done before its time. As Jera says, we cannot push the river, or pull the shoots from the soil before they are fully grown and ready for the picking. If we move too soon or too quickly, we lose the benefit of our growth maturing to its fullest and we then cannot reap its full benefits.

Jera 3

With a little patience, we can gain the best of what we are gestating. But, while we wait, it is important to keep working at our endeavor and cultivating it until it is the best we can create, and we will be that much happier with the results for the wait. Because it is then that we get what we ask for.

Jera 5

So, we must be as clear as possible on what we want, and what we do to cultivate it. We must Persevere…and not lose hope or belief in what we are doing. If we recognize our process as necessary to the success of the outcome, then we can let the process flow and let go of the stress and worry of how it will turn out. This takes Trust, in ourselves and our path. Nurture that trust as we cultivate what we have planted…and we will see the shoots and blossoms from our efforts grow strong, beautiful, and fulfilling.

Monday Message ~ Patience

Good Monday Morning! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day. I woke seeking our message of wisdom to take us into the week, and the Runes spoke up today, wishing to send their message. As I pulled “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum to me and plunged my hand into the velvet bag that holds the stones…the one that came to hand is:

Eihwaz 1

Eihwaz: Patience, Avertive Powers

Message (paraphrased): “As we are tested we fund the power to avert blockage and defeat. At the same time, we develop in ourselves an aversion to the conduct that creates stressful situations in our lives. There appears to be blockage in your path, but even a delay may prove beneficial. Do not be overly eager to press forward. This is not a time or situation in which you can make your influence felt. Patience is the counsel Eiwahz offers.

Perseverance and foresight are called for here. The ability to foresee consequences before you act is the mark of a profound person. Avert anticipated difficulties through right action. Even more than doers, we are deciders. Once our decision is clear, the doing becomes effortless, for then the universe supports and empowers our action.

Through discomfort, growth is promoted. This may well be a trying time, certainly it is a meaningful one. Be clear, be patient, and all that is right for you will come.”

Eihwaz 4

from The Desk of MarDrag:

We are creators. And when we have a passion or a goal, we are taught to go after it with all our will and might. And, rightly so. If we want something bad enough, we have to give it our all to create or manifest it. And this is as it should be.

But, too, on that path to creation and manifestation, there is a time to allow the effort and energy we have put into play to work for us, along with the forces and powers around us that aid in our creation as well. Or…simply to allow the right place and the right time to occur so we get our maximum benefit of our creation.

Eihwaz 2

In other words…there is a time to act…and a time to be patient and wait. Not everything works in our preferred time frame or exactly as we may want it too. Most of the time when it doesn’t, there is a reason, or something even better than what we wanted waiting for us…and we may see blockage or obstacles in our path. There are times to break through those obstacles, and there are times when it is necessary to have faith and patiently wait for them to be removed by forces other than our own. We may see this as defeat…but surely it is not…as it will always lead us to another destination, perhaps more right than where we were headed.

So…we must, more than ever, listen to that inner wise voice that tells us when to act and when to have patience. When we listen to that voice, to that gut instinct, and follow it…that is called Right Action. And sometimes Right Action means to wait. We can stop ourselves from stumbling into or through something we did not have to if we had listened and waited.

If you are experiencing what appears to be blockage, defeat, or discomfort…ask yourself if action is the right move at the moment, or if Right Action would be to pause, and get a clearer picture on what is going on before you make any decisions. Because once a decision is made, movement happens. We just want that movement to be that of Right Action…which leads us to the right and best things for us.

Eihwaz 3

As the Rune says…this may be a trying time…but is surely a meaningful one too. Through adversity we grow. So take a deep breath, listen to your instinctive voice, and follow it. Consider that waiting is a type of action too. And recognize that, by averting unnecessary consequences, we reduce stress in our lives. And from this…good things will come.

Blessings!

Weekend Inspiration ~ Patience

P 10

Patience…can be one of the most difficult aspects of life to manage. Especially in this day and age of instant gratification. There are too many ways to “get things now”. But, in the true energy grid of life, where growth and movement happen by nature’s way, the natural way…sometimes we have to be Patient for the river to flow, for things to work out, or for solutions and resolutions to manifest. Consider that…everything has a path. We do, but so do the events and circumstances we face. They have a path to follow as well…to get to completion. This is to our benefit, for if some things move too fast or before their time, then we may miss out on something wonderful that could have occurred.  I have had moments of sheer panic wanting, needing something to happen…thinking I could not go another minute but for it to manifest…and then another minute came…and I had to move on…and I did, and survived that moment. I replaced the panic with Patience. And with it came Calm and Peace, as I realized all would work out as it was meant to.

So…Practice Patience today. You don’t have to master it, just practice. it. If there is something you are waiting for, apply Patience to the emotions you are feeling. Take a deep breath and trust your Path…and the path of what it is that waits. You, and your circumstances, will find the way. All in good time. Blessings!

Weekend Inspiration ~ Patience

P 13I wrote a great deal this week about Change and Trust. There is another component that goes with those two, and that is Patience. And…it is not an easy one. We do not like to wait. We have our own time lines in our heads and, in this fast-paced environment we live in, we want to see things happen swiftly. But…that is not always how it works…and some of the best things in life come through the Patience of waiting for them to take the form they are meant to take. If we try to pluck a blossom before it is ready, it will never fully flower into the bloom it is meant to be. So, it is necessary to cultivate Patience, and to remind ourselves that all good things come in their good time.

Monday Message ~ Harvest

I have enjoyed these past few weeks beginning the week with a message from the tools I seek inspiration and guidance from…so I am turning to them again today and calling on the Rune’s for a bit of wisdom to begin our Monday. With my well-used, tattered and worn “Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum before me, I tumble the stones in their bag until one finds its way to my palm. The Rune that shows itself for us today is:

Jera 1

Rune:   Jera ~ “Harvest, Fertile Season, One Year

Jera 2

from The Desk of MarDrag:

This is a very telling Rune to choose today since we have entered the season of the Harvest. A few weeks ago, the Rune for that week told of a change in energy, that the wheel of the season had turned from the weeks of negative energy into a brighter, more positive time. Now, we find ourselves in a position to Harvest that energy, which we have been cultivating.

For the past year…all the effort, energy, work, and seeds planted that have been fed, nurtured, watered, and tended are now ready to bear fruit and be Harvested to sustain us through the coming months. Jera encourages us to stay focused and positive about the outcome, knowing success is close at hand. Providence is at work.

Even so, we cannot “push the river” and expect results before their time. A matter of patience is called for. But, since this is the season of the Harvest, we can be encouraged that the patience and fortitude we have endured these months will carry us through until our Harvest is complete. Be mindful…and know that the greatest crop we can reap from our Harvest is…the Self.

BE ENCOURAGED!

Rune Message For A Saturday

Well…my blog friends…this has been quite a week! I have heard from so many people that had so much going on…and it was a difficult week to navigate. Change, in its purest form, is upon us. Movement is happening in people’s lives, whether they want it or not. Some of it is joyous, some of it tedious and unnerving. So…I wanted to seek a good message to help you handle and understand it all. I was drawn to my Runes for this one…and picked up my bag and “The Book of Runes” by Ralph Blum to see what they had to say. The one that came into my hand was:

Teiwaz

Teiwaz: “Warrior Energy”

Message (paraphrased): “This is the Rune of the Spiritual Warrior. Always the battle of the Spiritual Warrior is with the Self. Funding a will through action, yet unattached to outcomes, remaining mindful that all you can really do is stay out of your own way and let the Will of Heaven flow through you – these are the hallmarks of the Spiritual Warrior.

Embodied in this Rune is the energy of discrimination, the swordlike quality that enables us to cut away the old, the dead, the extraneous. Patience is the virtue of this Rune, and the molding of character.

Here you are asked to look within, to delve down to the foundations of your life itself. Only in so doing can you hope to deal with the deepest needs of your nature and to tap into your most profound resources. Associated with the Rune are the sun, masculine energy, the active principle. The urge toward conquest is prominent here, especially self-conquest, which is a life-long pursuit and calls for awareness, single-mindedness and the willingness to undergo your passage without anxiety and in total trust.

This Warrior Rune counsels perseverance, although at times, the kind of perseverance called for is patience. What are your priorities? How are you using your energy? Teiwaz is a Rune of courage and dedication and strengthens your resolve in the struggle of the Self with the Self.”

from the Desk of MarDrag:

It is interesting to me (of course!) that this Rune came up because I spoke frequently to people and clients this week about seeing themselves as a Spiritual Warrior. Life movement is upon us and the energy is accelerating. As the Rune says…we are being called to look within and delve down to the deepest depth of our nature, our souls, seeking the truth of who we really are…our True Self. It is when our Surface Self is in battle with our True Self that we become confused and are unable to make things happen, or they do not happen as we wish. OR, think we wish!

Only in going deep within to get to know our True Nature can we know what we truly need…and also…tap into the unlimited and profound resources within to create and/or draw to us the fulfillment of those needs and desires. We must be absolutely honest with ourselves about our deepest nature.

Teiwaz Sword

A Spiritual Warrior has the magic swordlike quality to cut through the cr*p…to cut away the old, stale layers to get to that True Nature. It is time to wield that sword and strike through the muck…cleanse it away…and allow the True You to emerge. Only then will you know your True Path. And when you do this with single-mindedness and awareness…then anxiety and stress will dissolve and you will find the gift of perseverance comes to you to aid you in walking your path in Total Trust.

Teiwaz SW 1Seek your Source, Spiritual Warrior! (read the post “Our Source For This Life, July 13th). Draw your Source to you, let it flow into you, and fill you with its Power, your Power.

And then persevere…which sometimes means…be patient. When I traveled through the “dark night of the soul” journey in my life, there were moments when I raised my voice to the universe and wailed, “I can not take it one more moment! I can wait no more!” And then the moment passed…and I dug even deeper…and I found more patience, and went on. And…I came out of the tunnel into the Light and I am a better person for it. A stronger Warrior.

Teiwaz Patience

You have that in you too! I promise! So garb yourself in your Spiritual Warrior gear. Take up your sword and fight for your life…your True Life…and then step out of your own way and let your Source flow through you…guiding you always in the right direction.

Blessings!

Letting Go 8

A few days a go I wrote a blog about Source…and that, not only is there the Greater Source…but we each of us, individually, have our own Source, just connected to us, and there to fill our lives with what we want, need, and desire. I saw this quote yesterday, and it furthers the idea that…in order to access that Source and open a space for it to flow toward us…and reach us…we must Let Go of anything that we are holding onto….from the past or that is not good for us…so that we can clear a space for that which our Source would give us. If our space is full of what we hold onto that no longer works for us…then there is no room for the amazing things our Source is waiting to send.

Letting Go 6

Do not resist anything! Embrace it all…from the difficulties to the joys…because there is truly something…some nugget of wisdom…in everything that crosses our Life Path. Don’t discard anything as inconsequential. It all has meaning…so if we resist something, it will have to keep repeating itself until we “get the message”. Then it can know it served its purpose and move on…as we let it go too.

Letting Go 4

Source wants to reach us…that is its Life Purpose. Open yourself to the flow. It will be better than OK. It will be magnificent!

Blessings
