Do You Believe In Magic? ~ Repost

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.”  ~ Ronald Dahl

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”  ~ W.B. Yeats

“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”  ~ Laini Taylor

“Magic exists. Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live.”  ~ Nora Roberts

“Magic is believing in yourself, if you can do that, you can make anything happen.” ~ Goethe

“I do believe in an everyday sort of magic — the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we’re alone.”  ~ Charles de Lint

from the Desk of MarDrag:

Do you believe in Magic? Do you believe there is energy around us, pulsing and moving and creating? Do you believe in the Magic of Belief? Or the Magic of Love…or the Magic of the Heart and the Mind?

I think, that in this chaotic and sometimes distressing world, we can lose sight of the Magic that exists, that Magic we believed in and saw in the world around us, as a child. That Magic that we created our dreams with. A child sees with unclouded eyes, with innocence that what it sees is undoubtedly true and real, even in their imagination. That is how dreams are born and manifest.  As we grow and experience more of the world, and its harshness, we lose so much of that innocence and ability to believe that there IS Magic all around us and that we can have it in our lives. If we just recognize it as we look at the Magic of Nature. Or listen to the Magic of Music. Or feel the Magic of falling in love.

M6.jpg

But, there is also the Magic of Will, of Belief, of the Heart and of the Glowing Light within us that helps us create the life that we so desire. Or Will a solution to a problem to manifest. Or have the conviction that something we desire will come to us. Or even just the Magic of a Smile, to lighten someone’s day.

M1.jpg

Today, if even just for a moment, look around you and see if you can spot a bit of Magic and focus on that, draw it to you, feel the tingle of that something that is outside all practical thought. Just for a bit, open that part of yourself that dares to see past the severity of life to the enchantment and charm of possibilities when you tap into the Magic of Life. It is there. That glittering sense that there is so much more to what we see than what we see.

M3.jpg

Magic is everywhere…don’t forget to look. And when you look…Believe in what you see. And when you Believe…amazing things will happen.

“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.”  ~ Martin Buber

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

On our Journey, our Life Path, there are Destinations we see, aspire to, and reach. Destination is what keeps us going, with the desire, hope, and success of reaching them. BUT…we cannot always know every Destination life has planned for us. Some Destinations are secret…because they either hold a tremendous reward, or a profound lesson. Those Destinations are a combination of our efforts on our Path and the forces of the Higher Powers, Destiny if you will, that guide us on our Path. If we knew every detail or every end point, than would we see a need to even make the effort? Life’s little tricks! In addition, our Paths and Destinations change all the time, depending on our Choices and Decisions.

Experiencing Life is our Purpose, the Destination is the cherry on top. And isn’t Destiny a form of the word Destination to begin with? So, it is our Destiny to reach our Destinations. That may help us worry less about how we get there and enjoy our Path more fully along the way.

“Even the smallest changes in our daily routine can create incredible ripple effects that expand our vision of what is possible.”   ~ Charles F. Glassman

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

Sometimes, we can get in rut. We repeat the days, over and over, focusing on our obligations, work, and families, etc…and we can forget about the Magic of Life. That Magic that swirls and hangs outside our normal routine. That routine creates a circle around us, and very little gets in that is new. So, to bring Magic back into the circle, back into our lives…all we need to do…is make a small, simple change. Just start with one. Walk a different way today. Take a different route to work. Go to a different grocery store. Take up a new hobby. Reach out to someone you have not heard from in a long time. Something. One thing…Different. It is amazing how that can Create Change…and can open our vision to so many new possibilities. Get Creative. Go ahead…try it. Just to see.

“Challenge is a dragon with a gift in its mouth. Tame the dragon and the gift is yours.”  ~ Noela Evans

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

We have all heard the phrase about “taming our dragons”…meaning overcoming our challenges to reap the rewards. It is one of my favorite quotes…because of the Dragons. I have made friends with mine, and they are now my companions and guides rather than a symbol of negativity or difficulty. Both the words Challenge and Dragon conjure apprehension, fear, and “battle” in most people. But, as the quote says, both words also hold a great gift…if we can look past the fear and face them. Dragons are formidable creatures, but are lovers of treasure, and hoard it, saving it for special gifts. If you are friends with a Dragon, it will share its treasures with you. But, it also wants to know you will cherish the gift and use it well. Challenges are much the same. They hold a gift, buried within its lesson, and if we “tame” it…that is face it straight on and, through right action, come to its resolution…then there is a sparkly, rich gem of wisdom there for our taking, to treasure and use through our life.

Wouldn’t we rather have the jewels…than a dusty path with no pebbles or hurdles at all? And it is those pebbles that buff our Spirit into the Warrior that it is. So tame and make friends with those Dragons. All that glitters…is yours.

MarDrags’ Thoughts:

Look…I think we can all agree things are crazy out there right now. But, there are many sides to everything…and one we cannot forget or give up on, is that Magic still exists. Much may be “trying” to cover it up…and certainly, our outlook and perceptions can be missing it, not seeing it because so much chaos is interrupting our vision.  We may have lost hope or forgotten to listen to and cultivate our Intuition…and we forget that there is still Magic all around us.

M10.jpg

Some days it does not look or feel like it. But…if we take the time to look closely, and notice that someone smiled, or a flower blooms in the snow, or we close our eyes to listen to the strains of a melody that take us away for a moment…these are all Moments of Magic. And they are so important to the quality of our lives. So let us take a moment today…or several…and look around us, glimpse the Magic that happens that we forget to notice. Focus there…and bring that shining moment of Light and Possibility into our life. Remember what it feels like to Believe that something Magical can happen…at any moment…in surprising ways…that we least expect. Feel the fizzure of energy that bubbles up from a Magical moment and let it dash around you and make you smile. Wave your inner Magic Wand…and create your day to be exactly what you want it to be. You are the Magician of your life!

“Come from the heart, the true heart, not the head. When in doubt, choose the heart. This does not mean to deny your own experiences and that which you have learned through the years. It means to trust your self to integrate intuition and experience. There is a balance, a harmony to be nurtured, between the head and the heart. When the intuition rings clear and true, loving impulses are favored.”  ~ Brian L. Weiss

MarDrags’ Thoughts:

I love the last line of this quote. I speak a great deal about love here on this blog because I think it has been lost in the hearts of many. Somehow, we have morphed into a materialistic world that lives too much in their heads…always on the phone, computer or television. Our days are filled with moving from one tech device to another…with no time in between to just sit and think, star gaze at night, or daydream. The latter of which comes from our heart and cultivates intuition. The new intuition is Google! So, consider striving to find a balance…and as the quote says…integrate the head and the heart. It is from our feelings, and love, that intuition springs. And that is what we need to heal and make things right…with our own world and the world in general. Listen…to your heart and your head will have the right answer.

“How would your life be different if…You stopped allowing other people to dilute or poison your day with their words or opinions? Let today be the day…You stand strong in the truth of your beauty and journey through your day without attachment to the validation of others.”  ~ Steve Maraboli

MarDrags’ Thoughts:

How many times a day do we chastise and judge ourselves because of something someone said to us or about us? How often do we adopt an attitude or make a choice because of what we think people think of us, or will think of us? How much of our energy and thought process is taken up with worrying over this dilemma? And what do you think would happen if we stopped worrying and spending valuable energy on being concerned about what others think? Freedom…is what would happen. Ultimately, what others think of us is not our business, it is theirs and belongs to them…not us. The only validation we should need comes from within, our Higher Self, and our God or Higher Power. The rest is all changeable and therefore should have no impact on who we truly are within. Give it a try one day. Just for that day, don’t be concerned with anyone elses opinion of you. And see what happens to your Self Esteem!

I have wanted to repost this post for awhile now, as I have seen in my stats that so many people are searching it out and reading it daily. It is a tough world out there…especially now…and we cannot let go of or forget that there is still Magic to be had…mystical things that light up life and guide us…things beyond what we see right before our eyes. It must be, for the alternative is bleak. So, keep that Magic alive within you and in your world. And let it spread to light your life and the lives of others. Blessings!

Dare To Dream A Different Life~Repost

D1.jpg

As people say we are in for a difficult time, and we are, I want to say…Dare To Dream it can be Different. Now, more than ever, we need to hold those dreams high, and loud, and proud and have the courage to say… this is not how we want things to go. Out of Dreams come Miracles, Inventions, and Unexpected Blessings. Let us bring that to the forefront of our thoughts rather than the confusion and fear they expect from us. Dare to think Otherwise. And Dare to make it happen! Blessings!

Dare To Dream of a Different Life…

The greatest changes, accomplishments, and successes in our lives all begin with our dreams and desires that our life can be different. And that comes from daring to look outside the perimeter of our current existence and believing that there is something more, that our lives can be richer, fuller, and we can live more in tune to our true self, our true purpose.

D9.jpg

We can get stuck on the hamster wheel of life, scurrying every day to get through. And, with the world events and concerns we are now faced with, it may be difficult to look “out there” and see that the positive and possibilities are still available. And there is some fear too, about how things may turn out.

D2.jpg

This is why it is so important now, to…

Dare To Dream of a Different Life…

Dare to imagine that our life and the life of this planet…can be different than where it looks like it is going.

D3.jpg

Great change will grow from those dreams…and those who Dare to Imagine the world a different, better place. We must not get mired in the negative energy and forget to DayDream…to keep our Imaginations full of the ideas, dreams, notions, and concepts that make our own individual worlds, and the greater world, a better place. From our Imaginations and Dreams are born the ways and means to make them happen.

D6.png

And the more we exercise our Imaginations, the greater the potential for amazing ideas to grow and manifest. And every thought and action that flows from that creates a stream of energy that pushes back the negative forces. It makes a difference. Believe that.

D8.jpg

Let us fill our worlds, and the greater world, with the amazing, technicolor, spectacular, magical burst of our Imaginations to…

Weekend Inspiration ~ Flit of Fantasy

F 20

As children, we live in fantastic worlds of our imagination. Everything real has a film of fantasy and wonder laid over it, so that everything we experience is new, fresh, and magical. As we grow up, we are told and taught not to live in those fantasy worlds and to adapt to the reality of life, and the harshness of it. As adults, we forget to play in our imaginations and to take a break from that harsh real world. But…we should not forget that there are other worlds, other places to visit, other “realities” to enjoy. And…it is by way of these imaginations that great and healing things come to manifest in this real world.

So, do not forget to carve out a time for Fantasy…to daydream…to inhabit those peripheral worlds that are full of Magic and Wonder…to create fantastic dreams and make believe. For, it is in those places that we find the strength to carry on, rejuvenate, and where our tortured souls break free. And, it is also in those places…if we bring that energy back to the real world…will nurture and heal us and this damaged place we live.

Today…let it be ok to spend it in your Fantasy world. Spend it in the joy of creating and imagining…and give yourself that time to wander down the pathways of another land. Be refreshed…and giggle! Blessings!

Monday Message ~ Magic Comes

Good Morning! It is the start of another week, and for some, a start after a long holiday weekend. So here we are, looking for our Monday Message of Wisdom to carry us through the week and help us along. For today’s message, I turn to the animal kingdom and pull out my medicine cards, “The Discovery Of Power Through The Ways of Animals” by Jamie Sams and David Carson. It is a wonderful message that comes this morning through the card that came to hand:

R 1

Raven: Magic! Open yourself to miracles. Use new eyes. Believe in Magic. Embrace life’s wonders.

Message (paraphrased): “Throughout time, Raven has carried the medicine of Magic. This has been true in many cultures across the planet. It is sacred to honor Raven as the bringer of Magic.

Raven is a powerful medicine that can give you the courage to enter the darkness of the void, which is the home of all that is not yet in form. The void is called The Great Mystery.

If Raven has appeared in the cards, you are about to experience a change in consciousness. A signal brought by the Raven says, “You have earned the right to see and experience more of life’s Magic.” Raven’s color is the color of the void, the black hole in space that holds all the energy of the creative source. Black can mean the seeking of answers, the void, or the road of the spiritual or nonphysical. The blue-black of Raven contains an iridescence that speaks of the Magic of darkness, and a changeability of form, and shape that brings an awakening in the process.

If you have chosen Raven today, Magic is in the air. Do not try to figure it out; you cannot. It is the power of the unknown at work, and something special is about to happen. The deeper mystery, however, is how you will respond to the sparkling synchronicity of this alchemical moment. Will you recognize it and use it to further enhance your growth? Can you accept it as a gift from the Great Spirit? Or will you limit the power of the Great Mystery by explaining it away?

Remember, this Magic moment came from the void of darkness, and the challenge is to bring it to the Light. In doing so, you will have honored the Magician within.”

R 5

from The Desk of MarDrag:

What a message to start the week with! Magic is in the air! This is an unexpected message this morning, but a welcome one. I think we can all agree that lately, times have been a bit dark and full of struggles. When we experience a time like that, we often forget that there is another side to things, to life. We can forget that there are other forces at work around us, and that, by the universal Law of Polarity, there is the other side, the exact opposite of Darkness, the Light. We forget that miracles, or Magic, CAN happen, and so we close our eyes and hearts to them, and plod along.

The message from Raven tells us this morning that all of that “plodding along” and all the work we have done on ourselves to be our best Self, has accumulated and built into a force that brings the Light of Magic into our lives. It really DOES count, and now we may reap what we have sown. And now comes the Awakening.

Raven’s message speaks of the Void, where darkness contains the answers and creative energy we seek. You see…we are conditioned to believe that the darkness of the void means it is empty. But the truth is, the void is full of energy and power where change can take shape before it is brought into the Light.

This looks more like deep space

A Raven’s feathers, upon first look, appear to be just black. But if we look closer, there is an iridescent shimmer to those black feathers that belies the Light held within the darkness of those feathers. They gleam with shimmers of gloss and colors and brightness. So too, the Void may look all bleak and dark…but within is held the promise of the polarity of Light…and herein lies the Magic. Would we see it for what it truly is…or would we only scan the surface and turn away from what it “looks” like.

R 2

Hearken the message of the Raven…and know that Magic is afoot. Notice details, look deeper, look beyond what you think is before you. Know that from the Darkness comes Light, and the force of Change of Form. We have the Magic within us to change anything…for we are Magicians…and have the Power to change the form of our lives.

R 3

Know today that, out of the Darkness of the Great Mystery crackles the energy of Magic. Let us take that into our week, knowing that our hard work has come to fruition and brought the gift of Magic to us. Now…what WILL we do with it?

Blessings!

Weekend Inspiration ~ Imagination

I 3

When I wrote the previous post about Imagination…I realized I have written very little about it on this blog, and as I pondered on the subject, I realized just how important and necessary our Imaginations are…and how the current state of the world conditions us to forget about our Imagination and to be steeped in the harshness of reality. It occurred to me that reality becomes harsh…because we forget to use our Imagination to create that reality.

When we are children, we have no filter on our Imagination, and we see the world through that magical lens. As we grow up and face “life”, that lens gets mucked up with grime and we lose that spontaneity that keeps the Imagination alive. Or, we are told to be “realistic” about our lives and future and focus on accomplishments, money, success, and clamoring up “the ladder”. And we forget that it is within the Imagination that all of those things are born. We are taught that it is childish or unproductive to spend time in the Imagination, or daydreaming, but this is where we find our True Self…and conjure the ideas that become those successes. The Imagination sprinkles our minds with fantastic new thoughts, ideas, and positive energy and inspiration. It is where great deeds and inventions are born. And…it is where we can dream up the ideas that will help change the state our world is in right now.

So, I encourage everyone to use their Imagination. Today…in everything you do…use your Imagination. Think up great adventures while washing the dishes, ponder that next great invention, let your Imagination wander and wind through travels to places yet untouched…and let it change your life…and the world. Here are some quotes to get you started! Blessings!
