Thoughts For The Day ~ Repost

“Come from the heart, the true heart, not the head. When in doubt, choose the heart. This does not mean to deny your own experiences and that which you have learned through the years. It means to trust your self to integrate intuition and experience. There is a balance, a harmony to be nurtured, between the head and the heart. When the intuition rings clear and true, loving impulses are favored.”  ~ Brian L. Weiss

MarDrags’ Thoughts:

I love the last line of this quote. I speak a great deal about love here on this blog because I think it has been lost in the hearts of many. Somehow, we have morphed into a materialistic world that lives too much in their heads…always on the phone, computer or television. Our days are filled with moving from one tech device to another…with no time in between to just sit and think, star gaze at night, or daydream. The latter of which comes from our heart and cultivates intuition. The new intuition is Google! So, consider striving to find a balance…and as the quote says…integrate the head and the heart. It is from our feelings, and love, that intuition springs. And that is what we need to heal and make things right…with our own world and the world in general. Listen…to your heart and your head will have the right answer.

“How would your life be different if…You stopped allowing other people to dilute or poison your day with their words or opinions? Let today be the day…You stand strong in the truth of your beauty and journey through your day without attachment to the validation of others.”  ~ Steve Maraboli

MarDrags’ Thoughts:

How many times a day do we chastise and judge ourselves because of something someone said to us or about us? How often do we adopt an attitude or make a choice because of what we think people think of us, or will think of us? How much of our energy and thought process is taken up with worrying over this dilemma? And what do you think would happen if we stopped worrying and spending valuable energy on being concerned about what others think? Freedom…is what would happen. Ultimately, what others think of us is not our business, it is theirs and belongs to them…not us. The only validation we should need comes from within, our Higher Self, and our God or Higher Power. The rest is all changeable and therefore should have no impact on who we truly are within. Give it a try one day. Just for that day, don’t be concerned with anyone elses opinion of you. And see what happens to your Self Esteem!

“Magic exists. Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live.”  ~ Nora Roberts

MarDrags’ Thoughts:

In this rushed and busy time we live in…not only have we forgotten to listen to and cultivate our intuition…but we forget that there is still Magic all around us. Some days it does not look or feel like it. But…if we take the time to look closely, and notice that someone smiled, or a flower blooms, or we close our eyes to listen to a song that takes us away for a moment…these are all Moments of Magic. And they are so important to the quality of our lives. Take a moment today…or several…and take a look around you, notice the Magic that happens around you. Focus there…and bring that shining moment of light into your life. String a few of those moments together…and you have changed your life for the better!

Blessings!

Thoughts For The Day

TH 1

“Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” ~ Pope John XXIII

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

What we focus on grows. If we can remember that daily, we can guide our thoughts from what we fear or lack and focus them on our hopes and dreams and the potential that we have…every day…to make a new start or to finish a dream long desired. Do not give up! If we have failed at something, it just means it was not the right thing and the space needs to be cleared so we can begin again, on another dream, and make that happen. The potential to succeed is always there. And if we make that our intent, then the rest will fall away, and we can fulfill those hopes and dreams we so resolutely desire. Let us focus on the possibilities of what can still happen rather than on what has not happened.

TH 2

“Intuition is a sense of knowing how to act spontaneously, without needing to know why.” ~ Sylvia Clare

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

Why? It is a question so frequently asked. Sometimes we receive and answer…and sometimes we are called to move forward without answers or knowledge about why, how, when, or where. It is at these times that we are acting on Intuition and Instinct. Intuition does not need a reason to act…it already knows the reason and the answer. Listen to that Intuitive voice and follow its message. We will likely find the answer to Why on the road to Where.

TH3

“Travelers, there is no path, paths are made by walking.” ~ Antonio Machado

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

This quote caught my attention and made me stop and think. It begs the age old question…”Which came first, the path or the traveler?” There are many who came before us that blazed trails for us to follow, and many to come after us who will walk in our steps, if we are to leave an imprint. But the truth is…if we are to forge our own True Path and live our True Life, then we must create a new path, a path that our own unique and individual steps fit to, for no one can shape a path for us. We can learn from others, watch their steps and emulate them, or study many different paths…but when the time comes, we must walk in our own power and strength and clear the debris around us, shine our Light, and illuminate the path before us to show us the way. There is no other way to find our True Path. So, we must start walking.

Thoughts For The Day

TH 2

“F.E.A.R. has two meanings:
Forget Everything And Run –Or- Face Everything And Rise” ~ Author Unknown

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

This quote is brilliant. We always have a choice whether we listen to Fear and let it limit us, or whether we vanquish its false voice and overcome it. Fear is another of those emotions that only has as much power as we give it. So, do we Run or Rise?

TH 3

“Why do you want to shut out of your life any uneasiness, any misery, since after all you don’t know what work these conditions are doing inside you? Why do you want to persecute yourself with the question of where all this is coming from and where it is going? Since you know, after all, that you are in the midst of transitions and you wished for nothing so much as to change.” ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

How often do we think of change…and ask for it, at times beg for it. But we do not consider the path on the way to change, and what it might bring. We cannot just snap our fingers and magically be changed. We have to go through the process…which sometimes brings discomfort. And then we lament and ask why is this happening and where will it take me. When we were the ones who asked for change in the first place. We must be willing to walk the road of change and embrace the transition it requires for us to get to where we want to go. And thus…it becomes even more important to be as sure as possible about the decisions we make and the changes we ask for.

TH 1

“At times you have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself.” ~ Alan Alda

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

Sometimes in the wilderness of our journey the path is not quite clear, or we struggle with doubts because we cannot always see the way distinctly. But, if we choose to trust our Intuition, that inner wiser voice, then the confidence in our choices grows stronger and we have even more proof that our Intuition leads us always in the right direction. We must be brave in the wilderness of our Intuition and listen to its voice, because it will always lead us out of the dark scary places and into Right Action.

Tuesday Affirmations ~ Logic and Intuition

I have not done an Affirmation Tuesday post for a while, and the cards were calling me this morning, so I took them in my hands, pressed them against my flesh to warm them, and asked them what piece of wisdom they would have us know this day. I shuffled the deck of “Gifts of Affirmations” by Amy Zerner and Monte Fraber and the card that came before me was:

TA 4

Gift of Compassion: “I Blend Intuition and Logic To Guide My Decisions”

Message: “Use this gift when you are having trouble making decisions. Usually, relying completely on either logic or intuition will not produce the most beneficial decisions. Assemble the facts and then review them as you ask the small voice of your intuition to guide you through feelings and hunches. If you are still unsure, it may be best not to decide yet.”

TA 1

from The Desk of MarDrag:

This is a wonderful affirmation to follow the post from yesterday about Taking Action. That post spoke about needing to make Decisions and then Take Action, that now is the time. But, we often do not make Decisions because we are unsure what to consider, how to follow through, or what we really want in some cases.

So, if Action is being called for, we should look at the circumstances and facts…organize them and consider the importance of each one. Then bring it all together within us and ask our Inner Voice of Intuition to guide us in making our Decision. We really do have a Wise Self, a Wise Voice in there…and it will answer us and guide us in the right direction. Trust that voice. Even if it tells us now is not the time, and waiting is still upon us.

TA 3

As the affirmation says…we should use both Logic and Intuition to form our Decision and make our choices. They are meant to work together, and offer the best of both worlds. It is this Balance that leads us to operate by Right Action in our lives…that is…by what is Right for us, truly Right.

TA 2

Consider Taking Action…and use Logic and Intuition to aide you in making the Decision that will lead you to Right Action.

Blessings!

Monday Message ~ Grace

This weeks  “Monday Message” comes to us from the animal kingdom. I took to my “Medicine Cards ~ The Discovery of Power Through The Ways of Animals” by Jamie Sams and David Carson…and this is the message that was sent to us:

Swan 1

Swan: “Grace”

Message (paraphrased): “Little Swan flew through Dreamtime, looking for the future. As Swan looked high above Sacred Mountain, she saw the biggest swirling black hole she had ever seen. Dragonfly flew by and Swan stopped him to ask about the black hole. Dragonfly said, “Swan, that is the doorway to other planes of imagination. I have been guardian of the illusion for many moons. If you want to enter there, you would have to earn the right.”

Swan was not so sure she wanted to enter the black hole. She asked Dragonfly what was necessary for her to earn entry. Dragonfly replied, “You must be willing to accept whatever the future holds as it is presented.” Swan looked at her little ugly duckling body and answered, “I won’t fight the currents of the black hole. I will surrender to the flow and trust what I am shown.” Dragonfly was happy with Swan’s answer and began to spin the magic to break the illusion.

Swan reappeared many days later, but now she was graceful, white, and long-necked. Dragonfly was stunned! Swan smiled and said, “I learned to surrender to the power of the Universe and Great Spirit and was taken to where the future lives. Because of my faith and my acceptance, I have been changed. I have learned to accept the state of Grace.”

So it is that we learn to surrender to the Grace of the rhythm of the Universe, and slip into Dreamtime. Swan medicine teaches us to be at one with all planes of consciousness, and to trust in the Universe and Great Spirit’s protection.

Swan ushers in a time of altered states of awareness and of development of your intuitive abilities. And a time of accepting the healing and transformation of your life.

The Swan card is telling you to accept your ability to know what lies ahead. If you are resisting your self-transformation, Relax…it will be easier if you go with the flow. Pay attention to your hunches and your gut knowledge, and honor your female intuitive side.”

stone of grace

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Well, yesterday’s inspiration post was about Acceptance…and here today we have another message about it…and the state of Grace acquired through that Acceptance.

We all face certain “Black Holes” in our lives. Things can happen and the future can “look” uncertain. We can be facing a huge void that frightens us because we do not know what will be presented there. And we resist entering it.

The thing is…is that, within that void can be wonderful things to fill our life up with. In there can be the very things we are looking for, pursuing, or don’t even know we want yet. And we will never find out unless we Relax….go with the flow…and enter the future trusting what we will be shown. We must go into the quiet and discern the rhythm of the Universe…as well as the unique rhythm of our own life…and surrender to it, to the flow. This does not mean we allow “anything” to happen to us…but that we focus on our Intuition to tell us what is right or not right for us.

Swan 3

We all have Intuition. Accept, with Grace, the wisdom of that voice. Accept, with Grace, where your Intuition leads you. And, Accept that you have more wisdom and knowledge about what lies ahead than you think…Trust what that knowledge tells you. Honor your Intuition, your gut instinct, and your female intuitive side.

Be as the Swan and enter the black holes with Grace and Acceptance…go with the flow…and you will come out of it with more Wisdom and Beauty than you ever thought you had.

Blessings!

The Intuitive Guide

Intuition 1

from The Desk of MarDrag:

This quote caught my attention a while back and I have been meaning to write a post about it. It seems timely, what with Change coming, and an open, blank space to fill up with whatever we want to create. So…it stands to reason that Intuition would be an especially important tool at this time.

For Intuition is an impeccable guide. We ask all the time for guidance and help to understand the circumstances in our lives. And we often need assistance to get from one place to another as well. Generally, we look to and ask those outside ourselves for this guidance and help…and we forego or forget this loyal, worthy, all knowing voice within us called Intuition. And the thing is…it is THE best friend we will ever have…and it gives THE best advice and answers we could ever hope to get from anyone or anything else.

But most importantly…and as the quote says so eloquently…Intuition guides us to the thoughts that initiate creativity. When we have a burst of Intuition, and listen to it, new thoughts and ideas spark, and the flame of creativity is fanned into a roaring fire that burns away doubt and infuses us with the heat of potential and possibilities…that we may not have seen or thought of before.

So…I have a little challenge for you. Just for today, in every choice or decision you have to make today…use your Intuition. Use that wise inner voice for every task you undertake. Even when ordering your lunch…ask your Intuition what is best for you to eat for your health today. Experiment with “going with your gut”. How many times was that voice, that Intuition, on the mark when you used it? How much better did things turn out for having listened to your own inner wisdom? Or, if they did not turn out “better” due to other factors…was it still “right” that you listened to your own voice…even if you had to go another way?

Intuition 2

Practice using your Intuition. The more you use it, the stronger and more confident it gets…and the more you benefit. No one knows better what is best for you. Believe in that inner voice. It comes in Peace.

Blessings!

Thought For The Day

Good Morning! I have another repost ready for you all today. I am doing well, but could not get a post written and I just can’t leave you without something to read today. This post is one that I really liked and I hope you find a good message within it. I will be back up full force in the next day or two. Blessings To You All!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At times, I look for inspiration in the many books, tools and other things I find wisdom in, and one of those is the book I have quoted from here before, “I Am The Beloved”, by Rev. Joy Dial. There are some wonderful messages within these pages and one of them I share with you below: (paraphrased)
“You are dearly beloved, and your purpose is mighty. When sorrow overshadows commitment to your soul’s intention, you are compelled to experience the sadness that eclipses your vision. Appreciate your feelings and savor the Truth that IS your inner being. Have the courage to risk the catharsis that mourning brings, and to know the wealth of joy within your Self.
You are the sum and substance of all that has come before you. You are the foundation of that which will come after you. The Truth that you experience is the Truth you know and teach. Conscious awareness is only mental stimulation unless you FEEL your knowledge of the Truth through your heart. When you undergo the full intensity of your feeling experience, that gives a profound depth of awareness and perception that intellect alone cannot provide. Trust your natural feelings. They are your experience of Truth.”
Feel 2
from the Desk of MarDrag:
This passage struck me for a measure of reasons. First, its’ Truth, and then, because it speaks to Feelings and how we should acknowledge them, not deny them, and explore them. I have been doing some work with people recently that has had this common thread…we need to remember it is ok, and necessary, to FEEL.
We have become good Thinkers…and that is a positive thing. But with all that thinking and inventing new technologies and distractions…we have ventured away from the one thing we can always know and trust…our Feelings. We have also become an over-medicated society, with many different substances that pad our emotions and diminish what we Feel so that we can function better…or so we are told.
But the fact is…we are Human Beings, unique in the make up that makes us thinking, acting and Feeling beings. We have, for some reason, become afraid to Feel too much. We have become hesitant to allow our emotions to swell and ebb and flow. We have been told that a flat existence is better and have been mis-lead into thinking that is some type of Balance. When indeed, it is not.
Feel 3
The first paragraph above tells us we are loved, and we have a Purpose. Within that Purpose is not always constant joy. Sometimes, there is sorrow. And when it starts to over shadow our intentions, the best way to get over it…is Through it. To Feel it, in all its intensity. To “have the courage to risk/face the catharsis that mourning/sadness brings” so that we can know that wealth of joy when we pass through it.
The second paragraph says something I have mentioned here before…in my words…”that we are living now what we created from our past (the sum and substance of what has come before you) and that we are, in the now, creating what our future will be (the foundation of that which will come after). And I believe this wholeheartedly. That we must be mindful, starting now, of what we bring forward from the past, how we apply it to the present, and what we do now that will affect and build our future. This knowledge is important, but just knowing it is not enough. We must also FEEL it, in every fiber of our being. Feel the Truth of it.
Feel 4
The next statement above; Conscious awareness is only mental stimulation unless you FEEL your knowledge of the Truth through your heart, is so incredibly profound. It states that, we must connect our minds to our hearts for it all to be real. It is not enough just to Think it…we must Feel it, in our Hearts…or it is reduced just to mental stimulation. Intellect alone cannot provide full awareness.
In order to know the entirely of our Wholeness and of our vast Capabilities…we must Think AND Feel those thoughts. We must not be afraid we will break, or fail, or not be able to “handle” it. There is nothing that we as Humans and Spiritual Warriors cannot face and work through.
Feel 5
But it is our Feelings, our Intuitions…that tell us the secrets we need to know to apply our Intellect. It is the “gut feeling” you get when you know something is right, or wrong. Don’t mask those feelings with denial, distraction, or medication. Choose to Feel…and know that you are truly alive. And the rewards for embracing all the aspects of our Being are limitless!
Blessings!
Tuesday Affirmations ~ Perseverance
I have been a bit under the weather the last couple of days and did not get a new post written for today. But…it is Affirmation Tuesday, and I did not want to let you down…so I am posting something I wrote a while back that seemed good to bring back, especially with the energy changing this week. I hope you find something worthwhile in it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It is “Affirmation Tuesday”, and I sit and shuffle my “Gifts of Affirmations” cards by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber, feeling the warmth of my hands infuse them as I fan them out before be on the desk. Waving my hand above them, I close my eyes and let my left hand drift and hover over them as it dips, and chooses the card for today, which is:

The Gift of Perseverance: “I Accomplish Anything I Put My Mind To”

Message: “Use this gift when you doubt your intelligence, your memory, or your ability to achieve your goals. Your situation is largely the result of how well you blend your logical and intuitive faculties to direct your actions. Several times a day, focus with relaxed concentration on the mental image of something you would like to see come into being.”

P 1

from the Desk of MarDrag:

The word “Accomplish” seems like a big word, does it not? It encompasses so many things, large and small. We move through our lives with the dialogue that we must accomplish many things….from as small as washing the dishes to as big as establishing careers or caring for family. The array and difficulty of the things we must accomplish can be overwhelming at times, and when we have trouble accomplishing all that we think we should, we can begin to doubt ourselves, our intelligence, and our abilities.  And then, we have a harder time “putting our mind to it”.

In the affirmation above, it talks about blending our logical and intuitive faculties to direct our actions and achieve our goals. I like this, because it indicates that we do not have to rely completely on only one ability that we have. Some people are more logical, some more intuitive…but we all have both faculties within us. The more we use them, the stronger they will become. And using them both at the same time would double our chances to accomplish what we put our mind to.

P 3Also, there are the obvious practical actions we must take to achieve something, but, as I speak a great deal about here on the blog, there is also the intuitive voice that guides us that we must listen to as well. It is, many times, our intuition that leads us to something we would not have thought of practically. In either area, we could look at a situation and say it can’t be done….but put those two faculties together, and we are unstoppable!

P 4

So, as the affirmation says, today, and several times a day, think of something you would like to see come into being. Every action begins with a thought! Create a mental image of it and hold it there as you go through your day. Your intuitive voice will tell you what actions to take to make it happen. Relaxed concentration allows you to go about your other obligations for the day while calmly holding this mental image until you are ready to put into action.

Ease into the idea of “Accomplishment”, using your logical and intuitive natures, persevere, and be amazed at what you can make happen!

Blessings!
