I knew what I wanted to write for this post, but when I went looking for pictures and quotes to go with it, the ones I found just spoke so completely what I wanted to say that I will let them bring the message. They are in a certain order, so read through…and I hope deep in my heart…that it brings some comfort to you. Many Blessings and So much Love to All!

Good Monday Morning! Once Again, I find myself compelled to re-post this message as so many people lately have been wondering about the current chaos and the future. In my stats, many of you have been accessing this post…so I am re-posting it again today for our Monday Message. May it give you something to take into your week that brings some peace of mind. Hang in there, stick together…and Shine Your Love and Light! Blessings!
Today I felt the call to seek my “Gifts of Affirmations” cards by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber and see what message they have for us today. As always, the card I pulled speaks to us as we navigate through this awkward and difficult time. The card I pulled was…
Gift of The New: “I Have Faith In The Future I Cannot See”
Message: “ Use this gift when you are worried or anxious. These feelings are usually caused by our attachment to either a particular outcome or to wanting to know exactly how things are going to turn out. We have the power to change our future. How many of our past worries never came to pass?”
from The Desk of MarDrag:
With all that is going on in our lives and the world right now, it is hard not to worry and have anxiety. But consider that…so much of that worry is anticipation about what might happen and how we will be able to handle it. We can spin many tales in our minds and hearts about the “worst case scenario”, and then hold on to it, creating deep anxiety and stress. And sometimes, that energy helps to create what we are most afraid of, because that is what is foremost in our minds.
So, consider the act of staying in the moment and not projecting into the future. In this very moment, are you ok? Is what you are worrying about still just a thought, or has it happened? Is there still a chance a solution can be found? Have you worried in the past about something that never happened? Do you worry to the point of damaging your quality of life?
There is a saying: For every problem there is an equal solution. A problem cannot exist without its counterpart, the solution, or then it would not be a problem. Believe that. Every problem absolutely has an equal solution. It is called the Law of Polarity. There is an opposite side to everything. If a problem exists…then the opposite of it, or solution, must also exist.
Now, focus on the Belief in the solution, instead of just focusing on the problem, and the channels open up so the solution can flow through. That is where the Power is. And in doing this, we eliminate all those moments, hours and days of anxiety and we retain some quality of life as we go through the difficulty.
Just because we can’t see a solution in the moment…does not mean it is not there. And just because we have a problem(s) does not mean we have to allow it to color every area of our life, or define us, or feel bad about ourselves, or lose our daily dose of joy or peace. Do not give the problem that much Power. Keep your Power for the solution.
Have Faith that the future you cannot see contains what you need and desire…and that energy will help to create those things rather than building on the problem. Have Faith that, just as you have done before, you will pass through your difficulty and thrive.
I have been feeling low and drained this week…so I thought this would be a perfect post for Throwback Thursday. I posted this 3 years ago…but it certainly fits for this week too. If you are feeling it also…may these words help you today. Much Love and Blessings!
A lovely and cherished client asked me to write this blog the other day. We were talking about how most days it is part of our routine to begin the day with Spirit in our hearts and on our minds…and to say our daily prayers or rituals, or whatever name we give them, to draw positive and spiritual energy around us and make the day better because of it. I write a great deal about this here on the blog, and encourage us all to be aware of, and actively manage, our thoughts and actions in a positive direction. I believe that putting focus and attention on these topics every day helps to steer us away from negative thought and energy and retrains us to realize that we have command over what we think and feel…and that we always have a choice about how we direct those thoughts and feelings.
But then…there are…”THOSE” days.
The “UGH” days. The days that, no matter how hard we try to bring Spirit into the day, we fail. Or no matter how hard we try to redirect our thoughts, or let go of something that is bothering us, or release anger and hurt, or send Love into the world…it just does not happen. It just won’t happen. It just doesn’t work. And what’s more…we might not want it to. For that day…we just might want to feel cranky, or sad, or frustrated…and no matter what we read, or what someone tells us, or how hard we pray…”it” won’t leave us…and we revel in it and can’t draw ourselves out of it.
My client asked me…is that ok? Do I always have to bring it around to positive? Shouldn’t I try harder? Or can I have an “UGH” day?
I chuckled…and told her a story. For that very morning, I had an “UGH” moment myself. They do not come often anymore…but they come. And no matter how much I tried to do my Cleansing and Grounding exercise, or to Release what I was feeling and Balance my energy, or to Change my energy flow to Positive…nothing worked. It was not happening. And, it was not going to. Now, I have done this work for a long time, and with all that practice, it usually has tremendous impact on me and my day. I teach this to others as well. But that day…oh my…
So, I Surrendered to it. I gave up trying to make it anything other than what it was, and I allowed myself to Feel “It”. Really Feel it. Let it course through me and make itself known…to have its experience within me…so that it got what it needed, and then I was able to Release it…later. (After doing what we all do and putting it aside during work and obligations).
For that moment though…I closed my eyes and turned my face and my heart and soul to my Higher Powers and said that, perhaps I could not reach the level of Spirituality I normally do that day…but if I could just send out my prayer of Gratitude for all that I have, and ask for Guidance and Support just to get through the day…then would that be good enough. And the answer from above was…Yes, It Is Good Enough. Sometimes we just have to accept that things are the way they are, even if they are not the greatest. And that we can’t always change it at that moment…or be the stellar Spiritual Warrior we usually expect ourselves to be, and are. Some days, our “best” is just to get through it. Some days it is hard to have a positive attitude when you feel like you do not have one more ounce to give. But, just remember, there is always tomorrow.
So on those days when you just can’t pull it all together…know it is OK to be “UGH”. Know it is ok to be exactly where you are at and not to feel bad about it, or inadequate, or like you should be “doing it better” or “making it happen”. Some days…it just doesn’t happen. And…it is…OK.
Take the pressure off…and be who you are today. That IS enough!

TO ALL YOU BE-YOU-TIFUL PEOPLE…
I SEE YOUR LIGHT SHINING TODAY!
BE YOUR MAGNIFICENT SELVES!
I wrote this post a couple of years ago and just reread it today. It struck me as good inspiration to take into the weekend. With all that is going on…we will need to keep our own Balance, in our own live, hearts, and souls so we can ride it out. I hope this post helps in some small way to achieving that. Many Blessings and So Much Love to You All!!
“Your hand opens and closes, opens and closes. If it were always a fist or always stretched open, you would be paralyzed. Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding, the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated as birds’ wings.” ~ Rumi
“You have to maintain a fine balance between hope and despair.” ~ Rohinton Mistry
“What is joy without sorrow? What is success without failure? What is a win without a loss? What is health without illness? You have to experience each if you are to appreciate the other. There is always going to be suffering. It’s how you look at your suffering, how you deal with it that will define you.” ~ Mark Twain
“Life is a balanced system of learning and evolution. Whether pleasure or pain; every situation in your life serves a purpose. It is up to us to recognize what that purpose could be.” ~ Steve Maraboli
from the Desk of MarDrag:
I am quite sure everyone has heard some form of the saying, “Without dark there could be no light, and vice versa.” In his quote above, Mark Twain expands on that saying very eloquently. There are two sides to everything, then. There is a “light” side to everything, and there is also its shadow side. We are beings of light, yet we have our shadow side as well.
In this current crazy world, with so many distractions, disruptions and difficulties, we likely spend most of our time on either side. It has become more and more difficult to find the Balance between the two. Mostly we find ourselves in the height of hope or the depth of despair. Yet the place we would find our happiness and comfort is in the middle ground, the centerline of Balance.
It is a delicate sway to hover in the Balance of life. There are so many things that can tip us over to either side. And, I think, our vision and focus linger at either side, trying to define what we see and determine how to deal with it, good or bad. But, what if we altered our focus to see BOTH sides, to acknowledge that what is before us is a WHOLE of a thing, for surely it must be if it has two sides. Two sides always make a whole. To concede that there is a good side and bad side to everything, a light and dark side, a sun and a moon side…is to recognize that life is not as fragmented as we would perceive it, and, if we strive to recognize the whole of a thing in its entirety……then it would appear logical that in order to see that, we would have to be standing in the center of it, on the fine line of Balance. Right?
So…finding Balance is not so much an Act as it is a Perception. All we really have to do is acknowledge that there are two sides to every situation, difficulty, joy, or pleasure and, rather than dissolve into the ultimate depth of either side of it, we see the thing for its Wholeness and revel in the beauty of the Balance that keeps us steady.
If there is despair in our life, we can acknowledge that there is another side to it, and sway our perception to accept the whole of the picture, gaining the knowledge that there is another side to that despair and if we would like, we could find the Balance of it that would keep us steady until the lighter side is illuminated. By the same token, when hope and happiness are there, know that it has a shadow side, recognize that, to be grateful for its presence so that we are not disappointed when the shadow side appears. Nothing is always good and nothing is always bad. Life moves through different degrees of both.
Embracing the Whole is what will keep us in Balance…all the while reminding us that life is moving all the time and we will sway to one side or the other, but we do not have to lose our Balance, and we never need be broken apart, or left adrift. If we make Balance the point of our focus, our vision will cast wide and we will see life for ALL of its possibilities…and we will not get lost…or lose our Balance.
A few weeks ago I wrote a blog about doing a “Daily Bucket List” to help keep our focus on our own lives, worlds, possibilities, and actions to help us through this difficult time. So today…I am posting my “Monday Bucket List”. What is on your “Daily Bucket List” today? Whatever it is, I hope it makes you happy and positive because that will help the world too. Blessings!
#1 ~ Repeat my mantra when negative or worrying thoughts take over my mind: “No more fight, Peace, Love, and Light” over and over until I have Peace of Mind.
#2 ~ Focus my thoughts to send out Positive Energy to the everyone and the world instead of angry, negative energy.
#3 ~ Tell a joke to make people laugh and feel good.
Wishing you all a wonderful, Peaceful Monday full of Love and good thoughts!
I posted this blog two years ago and then ran across it again today. It seems very fitting for this time, this weekend…so I leave it for you…to remember what lives inside each of us…ready to be tapped…no matter what is going on around us. May these words offer some comfort and inspiration. Blessings!
“You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” ~ Marcus Aurelius
“Courage isn’t having the strength to go on – it is going on when you don’t have strength.” ~ Napoleon
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” ~ Corrie Boom
“Don’t be afraid of your fears. They’re not there to scare you. They’re there to let you know that something is worth it.” ~ C. JoyBell C.
“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
from The Desk of MarDrag:
This is a very unsettled and tough time we are going through. There is much in our own lives to handle, and the view of world events is troubling. We are all trying to carve out a corner of this world for ourselves, to follow our dreams and passions, and to find happiness and peace. It has not been easy, and I am hearing a great deal about how tired and discouraged many of us are. So, today’s post speaks to this…and it is the deepest desire of my heart and soul that these words will help in some small way.
I titled the blog “The Core Of Our Strength” because I want to talk about where Strength comes from. We hear that word bandied about a lot. It is written about, and told to us with good intentions, to help us remember how Strong we are and that we can get through anything, if we just believe in our Strength. But, when we feel discouraged, we may wonder where to gather that Strength, as it seems we may run out of it.
But…you see…we never will run out of it.
Why? Because Strength comes from our Core, our most inner Self. That Core place, that Center, that houses all the things we need to manage our life.
And at our Core…is our Spiritual Warrior…our Warrior Energy. This is that Core, that place so deep down inside us that there is no end to it. Our Core is like the Core of the Earth…forever burning bright, hot, and full of Power and Energy. It is the layers of worry, doubt, and fear that we throw on top of our Core Strength that dampens the flame.
The one thing that is always steady, always there, and always exactly what it is…is our Core Self, our True Self, our Inner Warrior…that never changes and never gives up. Even as circumstances can change around us…and we can change our minds, or our thoughts, or our behavior…our Core Self stays steadfast. And that is to be celebrated.
This is why it is so important, especially now, to get in touch with our True Self, our Core Self…and cultivate it. Acknowledge it, and hear the truth that Self has to tell us. It is THE ONE thing we can ALWAYS count on…the steady heartbeat of our Core Self, our Core Strength. It never leaves us. Our Core Self will never abandon us, or run out of Strength. It is built in to us, for the purpose of holding us steady. That is what a Core does…it holds what is around it steady. It is the foundation, the rock solid axis on which we spin. So…our Core Strength can never forsake us…and we should trust it and rely on it. Believe in it…and believe in ourselves.
In the Core of an apple are the seeds from which it grows. So too, the seeds of what we want to grow in our lives are within us, at our Core…where the soil of Strength keeps them protected and nurtured. Reach in, reach down deep and find those seeds. Find the flame of that Core Self, that Core Strength, and bring it to the surface. Look at these illustrations of the apple and the Earth and see yourself in the reflection. You are whole, like the globe and the fruit, with a Core inside that holds you stable and secure. Know that. Believe it. See it. And let your Strength flow through, replenishing and sparking your motivation.
The Wheel IS turning.
Have Hope and Faith. Love and Be Loved. And strike your best Warrior pose in Strength.
