Thoughts For The Day

TH 1

“For every negative experience that enters our lives, there is an equally positive experience that has or will enter our lives.” ~ MarDrag

“Try to remember this: to live, you need every experience. Some will come in glory and in beauty, and some in pain and what seems like ugliness. Life consists of opposites in balance.” ~ Marion Zimmer Bradley

“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.” ~ Marcus Aurelius

TH 2
from The Desk of MarDrag:

When searching for quotes for today, these appeared together and made a pattern I could not ignore. So I am posting them together, as they follow each other so perfectly.

Experiences…and Balance. It is what Life is made of. But, when we are going through difficult experiences, it is often hard to remember that they are just temporary and that we have equally positive experiences that happen as well. It is called the Law of Polarity, and if we can put this law into practice, it creates a greater Balance in our lives. For it is true that, for every negative experience, there is the exact opposite positive experience that has either already manifested, or is going to come to be. So, we can know that we are never stuck by our experiences…and this helps us to manage through the difficult times. And promotes a Balance that makes our lives easier to enjoy through the good times and deal with the bad times.

TH 3

So too, the last quote fits here because…those very negative experiences that cause us pain impact us by the energy and attention we give them. If we see it as a crisis, then so it is. If we see it as a mere problem to solve, then so it is, and we can get back to Balance more swiftly. As the quote indicates…it is within our own Power of Reaction to decide whether a problem is insurmountable or the level of impact it will have on us. There is no problem without a solution. It is within our Decision and Reaction that it is determined how long or with what difficulty the solution comes.

We are Deciders. Once our Decision is made, life experiences can be managed and balanced with ease. So we must Decide how we choose to look at and react to Life Experiences. And know there is Balance, even when we do not see it.

Weekend Inspiration ~ Spirituality

Spirit 12

“Spirituality is to be found and nurtured in the smallest of daily activities. The Spirituality that feeds the soul and ultimately heals our psychological wounds may be found in those sacred objects that dress themselves in the accoutrements of the ordinary.”  ~ Thomas Moore

This quote is on the post that has been up the last couple of days…and as I have been befuddled with a hazy mind as I have been sick…this quote floated and looped around that haze and caught my attention. It is really very profound to me because…sometimes we can think that Spirituality, or the Spirit in our lives, lives outside of us, or is something we look for outside ourselves. But the Spiritual Path is not something that is “above” our life, or “outside” it to find…it is that blanket of Belief, Oneness, and Power that we lay over our life to rise up from the mundane and connect with the Divine. For it is when we allow the Divine energy, and Spirit by whatever name we call it, to manifest and become one with our Soul, that Understanding, Love, and Harmony can truly become part of us.

Be inspired to look for, and see, Spirit in your life today. It is within you yet all around you too, and in everything you do. And when found and connected to Divine energy, that is when miracles begin to happen. Blessings!

Thoughts For The Day

Thoughts 1

“Kindness is more than deeds. It is an attitude, an expression, a look, a touch. It is anything that lifts another person.”  ~ C. Neil Strait

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Be more than Kind…BE Kindness. The smallest gesture can make the biggest difference in someone’s day, especially our own. Even when we are down or angry, making a gesture of Kindness changes that, it turns the energy around. When we do something to make someone else feel better, a magical thing happens…we feel better too. But most importantly…Random Acts of Kindness can change the world. Let us begin today.

Thoughts 2

“Painful as it may be, a significant emotional event can be the catalystfor choosing a direction that serves us –and those around us – more effectively.”  ~ Louisa May Alcott

from The Desk of MarDrag:

If we can keep in mind that even the most difficult events in our lives can change them in ways we least expect, then there is something positive to gain from them. As we experience the pain or emotions the event creates, we tend to focus on the pain it is causing rather than the cause of the pain itself. If we can step back and look at these events as stepping stones to a change in direction that will benefit us, then we can power through those events with greater clarity and strength…because we know that whatever happens to us, it will lead us always in the right direction to where we are meant to go…not necessarily where we “think” we should go. Pay close attention to the details.

Thoughts 3

“Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.”  ~ Auguste Rodin

from The Desk of MarDrag:

And this quote follows the above quote perfectly. Everything is an experience to be cherished, to learn from, and to grow and move forward from. There is nothing to be wasted if we use our experiences to grow…not just to live through or get through. Embrace it all, and there is not a drop that will be wasted.

Monday Message ~ Feel It

For our Monday Message today, I have chosen a passage from a book I sometimes look through for inspiration. It is called “I Am The Beloved” by Reverend Joy Dial. There are passages in this book that are remarkable in their wisdom, and this one spoke out to me this morning, asking to be the message that sends us into our week. It is about Feelings and Emotions…and here it is, paraphrased:

“If you choose, you have the Power and the Authority to make permanent changes in your physical reality, through a thorough catharsis of feelings that de-fragments the emotional clutter within your system. When you give yourself the opportunity to experience your lifetime of unfelt feelings, then the way is cleared for your experience of the fullness of your being.

Know that karmic energy is not be understood by the intellect, but experienced on a feeling level. If you choose not to experience these feelings, they are projected into a manifest form or situation which will impose the experience upon you, again and again, until you choose to surrender to the experience.

The experience and release of blocked energy expressing through you as sadness or despair, empowers you to also let go of narrow-minded misconceptions. Letting go of this energy leaves you with a tolerance and compassion that foreshadows all old opinions or judgments.

The energy you discharge fulfills hereditary karmic handicaps, leaving you free to experience the elegance you know as your True Self.”

Feel 1

from The Desk of MarDrag:

My post yesterday was about Personal Power. Now today, we have a message that tells us not only do we have Power…but we also have Authority over our lives. With Power and Authority, we have command of our lives and spaces and we can change our reality. But that change does not only come from the intellect from which ideas spring. It also comes from Feeling the energy that is the springboard for those ideas.

Feel 2

Now, if we deny our Feelings, about anything, including ideas, people, emotions, pain, suffering, joy, happiness…then we deny a part of ourselves that we are meant to experience, and we stuff those Feelings, creating a cluttered pile of emotion that has no outlet. With no outlet, and therefore no relief through experience, those cluttered crammed Feelings will manifest in some form, in order to be experienced, and will continue to manifest until we embrace the Feelings and the experience necessary for their release. (How many times do we ask ourselves why we are going through something…again?!)

In other words…Experience Everything…Feel Everything. It is a part of our lives for a reason, and we are meant to live it. There is a saying that the only way to “get over” feeling something…is to go through it. To Feel it with every fiber of our being for all it is worth. To squeeze every drop of energy out of our experiences…both good and bad…and then we will know the fullness of our being.

Feel 3

And so too, as we move through the experience and Feelings, we release any blocked energy and open the flow of our life, empowering us to let go of misconceptions, opinions, and judgments that hold us back. Leaving us with more tolerance and compassion, for ourselves as well as others.

Feel 4

Don’t hide. Live life to the fullest. Feel Life. And, if there are Feelings within you that have been denied and have not had their experience, let them out, Feel them, then let them go. The energy you let go of clears your karmic path of old experiences and leaves you clean and open for new experiences that will lead you to a deeper relationship with your True Self.

Life Is A Purpose

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us.” ~Helen Keller

“Every choice before you represents the universe inviting you to remember who you are and what you want.” ~Alan Cohen

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

“The path to our destination is not always a straight one. We go down the wrong road, we get lost, we turn back. Maybe it doesn’t matter which road we embark on. Maybe what matters is that we embark.”  ~Barbara Hall

“You will recognize your own path when you come upon it, because you will suddenly have all the energy and imagination you will ever need.”  ~Jerry Gillies

“The end is not the reward; the path you take, the emotions that course through you as you grasp life – that is the reward.” ~Jamie Magee

from the Desk of MarDrag:

What is Life’s Purpose? That is such a big question for all of us, one that we spend our entire lives pondering. We have such questions and considerations. Is it something we are? Is it something we do? Is it something we find one day and live happily ever after? Is it something we never find and search for forever? Is it something “out there” or something “within”? This is a subject that masters, philosophers, geniuses and brilliant minds have discussed and debated for millenniums. And we mere folk have struggled to understand it too, in our own ways.

I, too, have contemplated this question for most of my life. I used to think that, if I could just find my life’s purpose, the reason I am here on this earth, then I would finally be happy, content. Meanwhile, as I was searching and contemplating….I lived a lot of life. I survived my childhood (LOL), I grew into an adult, chose my career, had a family, and watched them grow. I had some great successes, as well as some great failures. I made mistakes, and learned great lessons from them. I took care of others. I walked a spiritual path, studied and learned a great deal. Had some deep and earth shattering moments of revelation.

And still I asked….what is my purpose?

Not too long ago, I realized something that changed my perception. I realized that my life’s purpose….was to live my life. Exactly how I was living it, am living it, and will live it, until I am here no longer.

Purpose 1

Every experience I had or will have, every movement, every choice or decision, every action or task, every thought and emotion ….is the purpose of my life. Everything I have done, thought or felt has led me to this moment…..and will continue to lead me where I am meant to go. It all counts, even when we think it is meaningless, difficult or painful. This doesn’t mean we do not strive for a good/better life, or to make a contribution, or do something meaningful with our lives. It means that….just in the act of striving…is our purpose. There is significance in everything we do. One day, our purpose may be just to get through a difficult day. Another day it may be to smile at someone, or perform a random act of kindness and make their day a better one. Another may be to create the next life changing invention. Or to write a best seller. Or do something to change the world. Or it could just be to be the best you at what you do that day, be it work, caretaking or even doing nothing at all. But to do it with all your might.

Purpose 3

The thing is….each day we wake, we get to say, I have purpose today. We get to give our lives purpose, rather than ask what is that purpose. Purpose is not the destination, but the journey, and all we experience, feel and share while traveling. From this, we gather all the imagination and energy we need to walk our walk. Our threads that weave the larger picture of the tapestry of this universe are full of purpose in that, without our thread, weaving in exactly the way it winds through the tapestry, makes the picture it’s perfect self. It would not look the way it does, it would not be the gorgeous tapestry that it is….if not for our own threads, running through it, in their own way….on purpose.

Purpose 2

“Life is a fairy tale. Live it with wonder and amazement.”  ~Welwyn Wilton Katz
