Weekend Inspiration ~ Hitting The Pause Button ~ Repost

P1.jpg

The dawn comes, splashing pink, orange, and purple streaks across the horizon. It is morning, and we are scrunched down in our beds amid the blankets and comfort, dreams frolicking in the misty gossamer threads of slumber. As images flash, the morning light deepens and throws fingers of dusty beams into the room, signaling the time to rise to the day. And then…Beep…Beep…Beep…Beep…Beep…Beep. A foreign sound breaks into our thoughts, insistent, demanding our attention…until we swing a hand over…and Hit The Pause Button.

P2.png

While this scenario may cause us to grumble as we struggle through the mists to come to wakefulness and start the day…there is something to be said about “Hitting The Pause Button”.

I have been talking about this frequently lately, so I thought I would share it here. It is a trick that is helping people to manage and get command of rampant thoughts and energy that have been difficult to manage or change as we spend this gargantuan effort to stay Balanced and Peaceful through these tough, confusing, and frightening times.

Many have told me how hard it has been to get their thoughts in control. Our minds can race and thoughts can take over, going in directions we do not wish them to, causing negative feelings and energy that is also difficult to release or manage. We can also tend to take this out on others in bursts of frustration and anger. So, it occurred to me that we need an “Internal Pause Button”. And that comes in the form of a “Pause Word”.

P3.jpg

When we catch ourselves running intense or negative dialogue in our minds, or crazy thoughts pop up and make us feel uncomfortable, or our patience runs thin and we feel like lashing out at someone or ourselves…we can hit the Pause Button with a Pause Word. Choose a word that is funny and causes a laugh, or a word that brings a smile to our lips. And when we feel our thoughts getting out of control and affecting our mood or causing an impulsive outburst…hit the Pause Word.

For me, it is Jello! Jello is wiggly and funny and cool and delicious. It reminds me of happier times as a child, making fun with friends and colorful, wiggly Jello. It makes me smile and giggle. And, it is random enough to catch my attention. So, when thoughts or stress creep in and I want to change them…I use my Pause Word and say Jello, Jello, Jello, Jello…over and over in my mind (much like the beep of a pause button on a clock), or out loud if I need to…and it breaks right into my thought pattern, stops it, and makes me laugh and smile…reminding me that I have control over my thoughts and I do not have to allow them to get to me, or influence me, or take over my mood.

P4.jpg

I have been giving this little trick to my clients this week, and they are having great success with it. So, give it a try. Once the train of thought that was making you feel bad is broken, it is easier to move your thoughts in a better direction. And it goes a long way in changing the course of your mood when your mind is saying something silly, insisting that you not take those thoughts too seriously…and move on to restore Balance and Peace in your mind with the prayer, process, or technique that works for you.

P6.jpg

Hitting the Pause Button on the clock in the morning gives us a few minutes to collect ourselves, fully waken, and prepare for rising to the day. Hitting the “Pause Word” in our minds also gives us those few minutes to take stock of our thoughts and change their direction…so that we can rise to the day and the challenges we face in a better light, a better mood, and with command of where our thoughts go and the energy they create within us and around us.

So have a good day….and Jello, Jello, Jello!

Thought For The Day ~ Trust In Trust ~ Repost

T2.jpg

“None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we Trust.”  ~ Paul Coelho

T1.jpg

This quote spoke to me, in fact, it hit between the eyes, because it introduced a concept I had not before thought of. It is no secret to any of us, I think, that we all hold some form of Trust issues within us. We would all like to Trust life, people, things, words, ourselves…but in this fast paced and, lately, crazy world, putting our very valuable Trust into any of those things can be risky. And, we can all agree I think, that at one time (or many times), we have been burned and hurt by someone/thing we have Trusted. Each time that happens, it puts a chink in our Trust armor, and we become more and more hesitant to allow it.

T6.jpg

But…if this quote is true…and I believe deep within me it is…then we not only have the “conscious” Trust that we use very day and gauge our lives with…but we have a Natural innate Trust that is always present. Paul Coelho is right…we do not know what will happen in the next moment, or moment to moment, yet we carry on as if we know something we are not completely aware of knowing. That the next moment will come, and bring with it another small piece of our life puzzle that we snap into the picture, and then we move forward again, Trusting the next moment to be there. If we did not have this innate Trust…would we be able to navigate from one moment to the next…Naturally, in this way. Organically. It is our Nature to Trust in Life.

T3.jpg

So, what I am thinking is, we may not be as messed up about Trust as we think we are.

And, consider this…would it be more prudent to put our focus on Trusting our innate Trust…as opposed to focusing on who, what, when, where to Trust. Meaning, we just Trust our Trust to lead us in the right direction. Rather than looking outside of us for validation or permission to Trust, trying to ensure we won’t be hurt…which is near impossible…what if we turn that focus inward and…regardless of the person, circumstance, or thing we are considering to put our Trust in…that we simplyTrust Our Own Trust.

T7.png

This does not mean we will eliminate pain caused by Trust being broken over something…but it does, to me, give great comfort in that…no matter what happens, I will still have my Natural Trust intact…because I Trust in it. And that really can’t be broken, because it is in my hands and soul, not someone else’s. I haven’t given it away hoping it will be held dear and respected…it never leaves me. I just allow someone/thing else to see it and, hopefully, treat it well.

T8.jpg

I feel like I am hopelessly bereft of wording this properly. Wordsmith that I am, I stumble here to “write it right”. But I hope I have gotten the primary thought across. I Trust that you will understand my rambling…and hope I have conveyed it somewhat succinctly. If not, there is always another moment!

Monday Message ~ Faith In The Future ~ Repost

f1

Good Monday Morning! Once Again, I find myself compelled to re-post this message as so many people lately have been wondering about the current chaos and the future. In my stats, many of you have been accessing this post…so I am re-posting it again today for our Monday Message. May it give you something to take into your week that brings some peace of mind. Hang in there, stick together…and Shine Your Love and Light! Blessings!

~~~~~~
Today I felt the call to seek my “Gifts of Affirmations” cards by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber and see what message they have for us today. As always, the card I pulled speaks to us as we navigate through this awkward and difficult time. The card I pulled was…
Gift of The New:   “I Have Faith In The Future I Cannot See”
Message: “ Use this gift when you are worried or anxious. These feelings are usually caused by our attachment to either a particular outcome or to wanting to know exactly how things are going to turn out. We have the power to change our future. How many of our past worries never came to pass?”
F2.jpg
from The Desk of MarDrag:
With all that is going on in our lives and the world right now, it is hard not to worry and have anxiety. But consider that…so much of that worry is anticipation about what might happen and how we will be able to handle it. We can spin many tales in our minds and hearts about the “worst case scenario”, and then hold on to it, creating deep anxiety and stress. And sometimes, that energy helps to create what we are most afraid of, because that is what is foremost in our minds.
So, consider the act of staying in the moment and not projecting into the future. In this very moment, are you ok? Is what you are worrying about still just a thought, or has it happened? Is there still a chance a solution can be found? Have you worried in the past about something that never happened? Do you worry to the point of damaging your quality of life?
F4.jpg
There is a saying: For every problem there is an equal solution. A problem cannot exist without its counterpart, the solution, or then it would not be a problem. Believe that. Every problem absolutely has an equal solution. It is called the Law of Polarity. There is an opposite side to everything. If a problem exists…then the opposite of it, or solution, must also exist.
Now, focus on the Belief in the solution, instead of just focusing on the problem, and the channels open up so the solution can flow through. That is where the Power is. And in doing this, we eliminate all those moments, hours and days of anxiety and we retain some quality of life as we go through the difficulty.
F3.jpg
Just because we can’t see a solution in the moment…does not mean it is not there. And just because we have a problem(s) does not mean we have to allow it to color every area of our life, or define us, or feel bad about ourselves, or lose our daily dose of joy or peace. Do not give the problem that much Power. Keep your Power for the solution.
F7.png
Have Faith that the future you cannot see contains what you need and desire…and that energy will help to create those things rather than building on the problem. Have Faith that, just as you have done before, you will pass through your difficulty and thrive.
“Ugh” Is OK Too ~ Repost
OK9.jpg
I have been feeling low and drained this week…so I thought this would be a perfect post for Throwback Thursday. I posted this 3 years ago…but it certainly fits for this week too. If you are feeling it also…may these words help you today. Much Love and Blessings!
~~~~~~

A lovely and cherished client asked me to write this blog the other day. We were talking about how most days it is part of our routine to begin the day with Spirit in our hearts and on our minds…and to say our daily prayers or rituals, or whatever name we give them, to draw positive and spiritual energy around us and make the day better because of it. I write a great deal about this here on the blog, and encourage us all to be aware of, and actively manage, our thoughts and actions in a positive direction. I believe that putting focus and attention on these topics every day helps to steer us away from negative thought and energy and retrains us to realize that we have command over what we think and feel…and that we always have a choice about how we direct those thoughts and feelings.

But then…there are…”THOSE” days.

OK3.jpg

The “UGH” days. The days that, no matter how hard we try to bring Spirit into the day, we fail. Or no matter how hard we try to redirect our thoughts, or let go of something that is bothering us, or release anger and hurt, or send Love into the world…it just does not happen. It just won’t happen. It just doesn’t work. And what’s more…we might not want it to. For that day…we just might want to feel cranky, or sad, or frustrated…and no matter what we read, or what someone tells us, or how hard we pray…”it” won’t leave us…and we revel in it and can’t draw ourselves out of it.

My client asked me…is that ok? Do I always have to bring it around to positive? Shouldn’t I try harder? Or can I have an “UGH” day?

OK2.jpg

I chuckled…and told her a story. For that very morning, I had an “UGH” moment myself. They do not come often anymore…but they come. And no matter how much I tried to do my Cleansing and Grounding exercise, or to Release what I was feeling and Balance my energy, or to Change my energy flow to Positive…nothing worked. It was not happening. And, it was not going to. Now, I have done this work for a long time, and with all that practice, it usually has tremendous impact on me and my day. I teach this to others as well. But that day…oh my…

OK5.jpg

So, I Surrendered to it. I gave up trying to make it anything other than what it was, and I allowed myself to Feel “It”. Really Feel it. Let it course through me and make itself known…to have its experience within me…so that it got what it needed, and then I was able to Release it…later. (After doing what we all do and putting it aside during work and obligations).

OK1.jpg

For that moment though…I closed my eyes and turned my face and my heart and soul to my Higher Powers and said that, perhaps I could not reach the level of Spirituality I normally do that day…but if I could just send out my prayer of Gratitude for all that I have, and ask for Guidance and Support just to get through the day…then would that be good enough. And the answer from above was…Yes, It Is Good Enough. Sometimes we just have to accept that things are the way they are, even if they are not the greatest. And that we can’t always change it at that moment…or be the stellar Spiritual Warrior we usually expect ourselves to be, and are. Some days, our “best” is just to get through it. Some days it is hard to have a positive attitude when you feel like you do not have one more ounce to give. But, just remember, there is always tomorrow.

OK4.jpg

So on those days when you just can’t pull it all together…know it is OK to be “UGH”. Know it is ok to be exactly where you are at and not to feel bad about it, or inadequate, or like you should be “doing it better” or “making it happen”. Some days…it just doesn’t happen. And…it is…OK.

Take the pressure off…and be who you are today. That IS enough!

A Bit About Transition ~ Repost

“Look on every exit as being an entrance somewhere else.” ~ Tom Stoppard

“In the space between chaos and shape there is another chance.”  ~ Jeanette Winterson

“A season of loneliness and isolation is when the caterpillar gets its wings. Remember that next time you feel alone.”  ~ Mandy Hale

T1.jpg

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Transitions. Everyone seems to be going through them on any number of different levels, so I wanted to expound a bit on the subject and the Weekend Post. Transitions seem to be the most difficult part of change and evolving. When we are in Transition, we are smack in the middle of a Change…we have left what is changing behind and we have moved into the tunnel, the middle of the movement, we are “in transit”, and we can no longer see nor are we attached to what we left behind…but we also can not yet see where we are headed, or what the outcome will be. But as one of the quotes from Sunday’s blog says…” all Transitions are composed of an ending, a neutral zone, and a new beginning.” (Walter Bridges). It is the new beginning we sometimes forget is waiting for us.

T2.jpg

Transitions are that time when we hold our breath in anticipation of what will come. Would we spend that time in Fear…or in our Truth and Power as we cultivate the energy that will take us where we want to go. It is in Transition that we have the most Power…because it is that moment, that space between what was created and what is to be created…so it is a chance to find clarity on what we really want to create. It can be a useful time.

T4.jpg

And while we may not be certain something good is going to come, we are equally not certain that something bad is going to come either. We Fear what will happen, yet it has not happened yet, so what use is that Fear? If it happens, we already know we will deal with it. Because we always do. If something wonderful happens, then we have wasted that time spent in Fear of the unknown, when the unkown held something great for us all along.

T5.jpg

In addition, we are contributors to our Destiny, so while outside forces play a part in what occurs in our lives, we too have our inner force, our Power, Choices, and Decisions that can be the factors that sway the direction in which the Transition takes us.

The Oxford American Dictionary tells us the definition of Transition is:

the process of changing from one state or style to another; passage from one form, state, style, or place to another; movement, development, or evolution from one form, stage, or style to another

I like the part that states Transition is a Passage, so that tells us it is not a place we stay. The very root of Transition is Transit…in movement. And a Passage, a Movement, always takes us to somewhere else. It is as if being on a train ride. So, are we riding that train in Fear and Apprehension…or would we spend that time on the train reading, studying, praying, creating, dreaming, and sending our Energy and Power out to be counted in the forming of our destination. It really is all in our Perception of how we see Transition.

T9.jpg

If we are in Transition, then movement has begun and we cannot stop it. But, we can certainly have Power in directing where we are going and what we choose along the way. AND…most importantly…we have a choice about how we spend our time in Transition. Which can be…taking care of ourselves, gaining clarity on where we are going, and focusing our energy in a positive direction.

T6.jpg

Transitions can be a bumpy ride…but they can also be full of useful and empowering action, even if that action is to sit back and wait for the train to arrive at the next station. We do not have to dread Transition, it can be exciting and thrilling if we see it as the time of the caterpillar in its cocoon, just before it breaks free and morphs into a beautiful Butterfly…and begins a whole new life.

Weekend Inspiration ~ Random Acts of Kindness ~ Repost

K2.jpg

I actually wrote and posted this blog a few years ago. It is interesting that I came across it today…as now, more than ever, we need to remember to do this. I KNOW IT IS HARD…especially with so much negative energy and people being hateful. But…in the face of that…Love and Kindness is what we want, so we must continue to live by it…even when it the hardest ever to do. May you all have a weekend full of Kindness and Love. I send some to you from the depth of my humble Heart and Soul. So Many Blessings to You All!

~~~~~~
The world we live in at the moment can be a worrisome, frightening, and confusing place. We can be unsure how to deal with it, and so, put our heads down and do not look up too much, for fear of what we will see. We shake our heads and wonder…how did we get here? And what can we do to change it?
Though a small thing…Random Acts of Kindness can remind us that there is good to be had in this world, and that we can be the ones to keep that good alive. We can stare down this craziness, stand up to it, and prove it will not change what is natural and inherent in us all…Kindness.
K4.jpg
Think about that as you go on with your day. And do Random Acts of Kindness…just to share good energy. Some of the things I like to do is…pay for the person’s meal behind me in the take out line. Or wish a stranger a good day. Ask a neighbor if they need help with something. Or visit a home for the elderly just to spread Kindness. Another thing I do is tape a dollar bill on the back of diaper packages at the store with a “wishing you abundance” message on them. Open the door for someone, help carry packages, clean out your closet and give the clothes to a shelter, hug someone. Leave an encouraging note. Thank someone.  If you think about it…there are many ways to do Random Acts of Kindness.
K5.jpg
If you think about it.
K3.jpg
I know the comment on the picture above is a lofty one…and maybe overly optimistic. But…what if it is true? What if, by chance, it would work? Shouldn’t we at least try?
K6.jpg
And one of the best parts is…we can feel good knowing we made someone smile, or brightened their day with a surprise. And just think…we make that other saying, “Live each day as if something wonderful is about to happen”, come true for someone. How cool is that? All that energy comes back to us at some point too. So we are winners all around.
That has got to put some good energy out there to combat the rest of the murk. I Believe it. I’m stubborn like that!
Finding Comfort ~ Repost
“Never underestimate how much assistance, how much satisfaction, how much comfort, how much soul and transcendence there might be in a well-made taco and a cold bottle of beer.” ~ Tom Robbins
“The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” ~ Maya Angelou
“As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful. They are the things that fill our lives with comfort and our hearts with gladness — just the pure air to breathe and the strength to breath it; just warmth and shelter and home folks; just plain food that gives us strength; the bright sunshine on a cold day; and a cool breeze when the day is warm.” ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder
“Dream about things that envelop your being like a comfortable blanket.”  ~ T. Devour
C2.jpg
from The Desk of MarDrag:
I had a long, busy, activity filled day the other day and when I finally completed everything and could take a break and a breather, I looked to find some relaxation and comfort. So I gathered an ice cold bottle of water, a snack, and a chocolate and climbed the stairs to my loft, where all my treasures, books, and my desk are located. Also in this lovely space is my favorite purple reading chair. It is an indulgence of plush material and sits deep. It has a matching ottoman perfect for resting tired feet. I keep a small table next to the chair, which is positioned in the middle of the loft, and I placed my food and beverage there. I lit a stick of incense, lit several candles, and turned to my chair. I sat down, deliberately scooting into its depths to find the exact right position, pushing and plumping the cushions with my body to fit it most comfortably. I propped my feet upon the ottoman, and took several long, deep, core breaths. This…I thought…is absolute Comfort.
This…I also thought…is what we need to strive to find a few moments for ourselves every day. I know, it is difficult to find the time. And some would say they cannot find Comfort in their life right now, that there is too much turbulence.
C4.jpg
But…there are those simple, quiet things, as simple as a favorite chair, that can make those moments of Comfort for us. And it is those moments when we allow ourselves some Comfort that keep us going, nurtured, and replenished.
C5.jpg
So, whatever Comfort means to you…allow yourself to find it among the stressful minutes of your day. Comfort can come in many ways or from many things or people…it matters not where it comes from…but that it comes to be a natural part of our lives, our days. Especially now, gather Comfort to you and give yourself that gift. It makes such a difference…and you deserve it!
C3.png
And…may you find a bit of Comfort from your visit here. Know that Love and Warmth are wrapped around you with every click to the blog!
