“Challenges are what make life interesting; overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” ~ Joshua J. Marine
Ahhhh, Life’s Challenges…a conundrum. Are they good or bad, positive or negative, worth it or too much work? I believe it is all in how we choose to perceive them. We may not like them while they rage, and we may find them difficult to get past…but without Challenges we have nothing to shake us up and encourage us to get more out of life. Or to see just how strong and creative we are. Certainly Challenges make life interesting…but as the quote says…when we overcome them…that is when we can see what meaning our Life truly has.
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” ~ Viktor E. Frankl
This is a powerful quote. It is true that…almost anything we have in life can be taken away, one way or another. But…one thing that cannot be taken from us…is the Power To Choose…and in this case, to choose the attitude with which we approach all that happens to us. It is a gift, a privilege, this freedom…and we should never forget we have it. Because the attitude we choose has everything to do with whether we succeed or not.
“On particularly rough days when I’m sure I can’t possibly endure, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days so far is 100%…and that’s pretty good.” ~ Author Unknown
I LOVE this quote! I have written a bit on this blog about bad days and how to overcome them. And that, if we think about it, those bad moments we have that we think we cannot get past…we do get past them. We live through them, and pass on to the next moment, and the next. We are experts at getting through the tough moments…because we are still here, in this moment, and there is still a choice to be made about what we will do in this moment. Perfect! We are geniuses at enduring rough days. Think about it…and put that in your Self-Confidence and Self-Worthiness basket. The next time you think you “can’t make it”…remember, you have a 100% successful track record at “making it”. And that is genius!
