“Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is.” ~ Albert Camus
“Men go to far greater lengths to avoid what they fear than to obtain what they desire.” ~ Dan Brown
“If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man’s life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.” ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
“There is some kind of a sweet innocence in being human- in not having to be just happy or just sad- in the nature of being able to be both broken and whole, at the same time.” ~ C. Joybell C.
“I’m not in search of sanctity, sacredness, purity; these things are found after this life, not in this life; but in this life I search to be completely human: to feel, to give, to take, to laugh, to get lost, to be found, to dance, to love and to lust, to be so human.” ~ C. Joybell C.
Human nature. The Nature of humans. Our Natural state. What is our “natural state”? We humans are the only animal who is never sure of that. The animal kingdom knows who they are, and they resonate to their natural habitats and live within their natural state. They do not try to be anything other than what they are, naturally, By nature.
We are complex beings, made up of instinct and emotions and rational thinking…and a million other facets…and all those facets tossle and tumble about us each day so that a myriad of prisms of stimulations and reactions imprint themselves on us daily. You see what I am getting at here?
Life is not simple.
But…our Natural State is. You see, I believe that, under all of our ambitions, goals, projections, efforts and accomplishments in this life…there is our Natural State. Which is that of Bliss and Peace.
For, what do we work so hard for, but to carve a place in the world for us to be happy and enjoy our lives. If we allow life’s circumstances, obstacles, disappointments, delays, or disagreements to take us from our Natural State of Bliss and Peace and throw us into turmoil, then we have given over our power to external forces and forgotten of the power of our Natural State that we hold within. By whatever Power we are put here, I believe our true mission is to realize our Bliss and live in Peace. But we allow ourselves to be distracted…and we forget. And we get caught up.
But…the Bliss and Peace does not leave us. It stays within…it is there, always, for us to access. That is why it is so important to seek our True Self…for in that true Self is our core…and at our core is our True Natural State…where we will find that Peace. Find it, explore it, live it.
When, in life, we face difficulty…we must experience it and deal with it…but then…we must always strive to return to our Natural State of Bliss and Peace. Find a way to incorporate that into our daily life, whether it be through meditation or prayer or ritual or by whatever measure brings us Peace. We are in command of how we live this life…and we are meant to live it in Peace. We need to keep reminding ourselves of this until it becomes a habit. And, if every person found their own Natural State of Peace, so too, would that spread out into the world.
