Weekend Inspiration ~ Respect

Respect 13Good Morning! I hope you are all looking forward to a lovely weekend. Today’s topic was a source of many conversations this past week, as it seems this issue is coming up for many people. It is clear that Respect is suffering in the dynamic our society has taken these days. I do not want to sound preachy here…and go on about how we should Respect ourselves and others…because deep down, we all know this. But it has become increasingly difficult to keep this simple yet powerful concept alive, and in my opinion, it is one of the main reasons we have such strife in the world. We have forgotten how to Respect each other. So…this is just a gentle reminder that…everyone has their path, their troubles, their challenges…and if we can remember that and have Respect for each other…then it makes walking that path so much easier. And, of course, that Respect begins with ourselves. From Self-Respect flows Tolerance, Love, and Acceptance. Give yourself that gift today…and pass it on to others. Blessings!

Thoughts For The Day

TH 1

“What matters is how you feel about yourself, right here and right now, because that’s what determines how you conduct your life here. There’s no time except the present moment, so it’s important to be yourself and live your own truth.” ~ Anita Moorjani

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

There is never a better moment than this one…to seek and live in our own Truth. To be our authentic Self…to find out who we are and live by that knowledge. It is when we go within and uncover that True Self and love and accept that Self unconditionally, that our lives and purpose fall into place. This is the moment. Be Yourself!

TH 2

“If it’s not exactly like you thought it would be, you think it’s a failure. What about the spectrum of colors in between.” ~ Sara Evans

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

In this world of “instant gratification”, I believe the judgment of success or failure has become skewed. If something or someone does not hit instant, major, global, phenomenal, major success status immediately upon launching whatever endeavor is being attempted, then it is deemed a failure. And so…we have pictures and expectations in our minds about how we want our endeavors to go and how we think we should reach our goals. And if the outcome does not look the way we thought it should…then we feel we have failed. But as the quote says…what about all the colors…or levels of success in between. On the color spectrum, there is black and white on either end. One success, one failure. Now…what about all those other colors in between that count for a level of success or completion or lessons learned to do better next time. No color is wasted on that spectrum. So, no moments we spend in our endeavors are wasted either. Take the crayons of life and color your world with ALL the colors of what you have done, achieved, and struggled with…for all those colors make up the entire picture…of YOU.

TH 4

“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you’re going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.” ~ C. JoyBell C.

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

I have written much about Direction in life here on the blog…but I just love the quote above for its simple wisdom and inspiration. I know it is difficult not to know where we are going in life, and we have our goals that we want to reach. But as the quote says…it is when we are “suspended in mid-air” that we find out who we truly are and how much creativity, strength, and courage we have…and we find out just how high we can soar. Until those wings are tested, we stay on the ground. Don’t be afraid to fly into the wind with No Direction! Your wings, and your Inner Wisdom, will know where and how to carry you. Trust! YOU ARE MAGNIFICENT!

From My Heart To Yours

TY 4

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a good holiday weekend, fitting in some recreation as well as rejuvenation and you are feeling rested and ready to go. Or…you partied your hearts out and are running late because you did not get enough sleep. Either way…I hope you had the weekend you wanted and deserved.

Usually, in the beginning of the week, I post a message that gives us a bit of wisdom to take into the week…but today I wanted to do something a little different. I want to make this post…ALL ABOUT YOU…

…and say…THANK YOU! When I first started this blog I was not sure anyone would read it. I had been writing an inspiration page for another blog and was inspired to start my own. I did not even tag the posts at first…I was shy!…so I only had a handful of followers. That’s ok. If the messages reached a few and helped, then the purpose of the words were accomplished. When I finally began tagging the posts and following others, my blog began to grow. I was most excited when stats said I was being read in other countries. Pretty cool.

By no means is my blog an overachiever…but I have reached a couple of milestones I am pleased about…and I want to THANK ALL OF YOU WONDERFUL READERS who take the time out of your busy complicated days to come here and read these words. What is even more amazing and wonderful, is that you let me know they make a difference in your lives. THAT…is the coolest!

TY 1

So the message I send you into the week with is….one of GRATITUDE…My Gratitude…for YOU! I do not know how else to explain this, but…I have somehow been Blessed with a huge heart. It overflows with Love and Compassion for people, all people…and this heart needed to reach out and touch others…and this blog is one way to do that. I hope you feel the Love in the words I write…and know that, it is for you that I write them. When I ask for inspiration for a post, I ask…what do my readers want or need to hear today. And the message flows…and I write…and I hope that it touches whoever reads it.

These are tense and often overwhelming times we live in. It is my deep and profound wish and Life Purpose to help people get through it, to find that place of peace within themselves, to be inspired, or to find comfort from the words I write and the work I do. If I could, I would wrap my arms around each one of you and hold you until all your fears and doubts melted away. Since I can’t physically do that…I try to do it with my words…and I hope you feel that.

So, as you move through your life today, know there is one here who is Grateful for your presence on this Earth and knows, without knowing you, how important you are to the Balance of the Tapestry of Life. And know how important you are to me and my little blog…and how much I appreciate you being here.

TY 3

You are Unique…You are Important…You are Appreciated! Know this, beyond any doubt. Doubt does not change this fact, no matter how hard it tries. YOU are MAGNIFICENT!!

TY 2

My Love and Blessings to You!

Weekend Inspiration ~ Recreation

R 2

Happy Three Day Weekend! This is a holiday weekend, and for a lot of folks, it means three sweet days off work. For those who do not get a full weekend off, there is still some room for leisure, as holidays always bring the energy of play and recreation. And these two things are so important on our roads strewn with pebbles and bumps. For…the very reason we work so hard is to have what we want in our leisure time. BUT…we can not forget to take that leisure, or what is all the work for. Recreation rejuvenates us…it brings back the innocence of our youth…and it reminds us that we have a fun, playful side. When we let that side out to frolic, we relieve the stress of our most adult and serious side. And…we create Balance.

So, on this long holiday weekend…Have Fun! Have adventures! Create recreation! Laugh, giggle, and play…and let your worries fade away. You deserve it! Blessings!

Thoughts For The Day

T 1

“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” ~ Henry Ford, Founder of Ford Motor Co.

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

Sometimes it feels like the world is working against us, but we have the power to fly into it, face it, rise above it….and soar.

T 2
“Always know in your heart that you are far bigger than anything that can happen to you.” ~ Dan Zadra, Motivational Author

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

Put things into perspective, realize that things happen, but the scope of the Power of Will and the Soul is far greater than anything else. Focus on your personal power, and it will be there for you.

T 3
“Discouragement is a negative emotion with more than one trick up its dark sleeve. It tricks you into mentally or emotionally dwelling in the very place you want to leave. Drop all such sorrow permanently by daring to see through this deception of the unconscious mind. You have a destination far beyond where you find yourself standing today” ~ Guy Finley, Author and Speaker

MarDrag’s Thoughts:

Remember, there is a bigger picture than just the snapshot you are looking at today. This day, and its difficulties, do not define you as a whole person, or the whole of your life. Tomorrow, you will wake and have another chance to do it differently or make another choice. Trick the trickster of the deception Guy Finley speaks of and see through it, thereby taking all the power away from that negative emotion.

We are all special and unique in our own way, and are an important thread in the tapestry of the universe. Remember how significant you are in that tapestry and how no one can fill the space your thread fills and weaves like you do. No matter what you are going through, or what anyone else says, you are essential to the greater picture and a beautiful thread that completes this gorgeous tapestry.

What Direction Do I Go

I dream very vividly and often. I wish I had a little camera to implant in my mind to record them. I have not written about my dreams in some time….but these past few days I have had some very profound ones. I really believe that dreams give us a glimpse of life on another level and provide information and messages that will help us in “real time”. So I took to my “Dream Cards” by Strephon Kaplan-Williams to bring you a message from the dreamland today. These are lovely cards…and are full of images and messages, including the primary message. I am going to list all of the secondary images and messages too, because they are rather profound, and I do not want us to miss anything. So, bear with a bit more lengthy post!

The card I pulled is:

Direction Dream Card

DIRECTIONGuiding, Destiny, Fulfilling (Central Image – A Bridge crosses a great chasm)

Message: Direction is when we value somewhere or something greater than life itself. Direction is not simply choosing goals and fulfilling them. All goals deceive, whether one is climbing ambition’s ladder, nurturing a family, or championing a major cause of the people. While these need commitment, they do not transcend the specifics of life. The only commitment that gives ultimate purpose is following Source energy to the end of your days, no matter where it leads you. Your Task Is: Ask if you have a purpose so valuable you can commit your life to it.

Secondary Images:

Snake: Only the choosing are chosen, only the chosen are choosing. Seek the source of what challenges you.

Door: Clearing obstacles is the first step in finding purpose. Learn from everything that does not go your way until you no longer want only your way.

Suitcase: The true cost of a journey is to give up what you don’t want to let go of. Hold on tightly, then choose to give.

Cards: Fortunes are not in the cards, but in the choices of life. Choose with certainty and never look back.

Stairs: If one has more than one direction in life, they tend to cancel each other out. For the moment, choose the most central direction.

Dog: To be led means to make anothers direction our own. Give up self-desire and be guided.

Car: To keep moving is not in itself a direction but a distraction. Stop yourself long enough to choose where you are going.

Lightening: The journey combines what happens to us with what we do about it. Act more from inner knowing than anxiety.

Direction 3from The Desk of MarDrag:
The Central Image, the Bridge, speaks of following Source energy no matter where it leads. (that “Source” is whatever it means to YOU). And….that our true Purpose is one that is so valuable to us that we commit our life to it. What could that be…to You? Seek the source of what challenges you, and find out. It is more important now than ever that we seek our True Self within and allow ourselves to be guided by that True Self.

Direction 9

And we can only be guided when we let go of everything that keeps us tethered to the past, or keeps us judging and questioning what our Direction is. “Give up self-desire and be guided” tells us to let go of the expectations we have for “needing and having” to know and be in control of our Direction. It is when we stop for a moment, listen to inner wisdom, and trust that voice, that we are guided by right action and our Direction becomes clear. The Direction we are pushing in is not always the “right” direction, and guidance will help us see if that is so.

Direction 4

I love the line, “Learn from everything that does not go your way until you no longer want only your way” because it reminds us that, while our individual tapestry is busily being woven, there is still the greater picture to be considered, and how our tapestry fits into that Great Tapestry. Perhaps now, more than ever, we need to reflect on this. And there are lessons to be learned from that which does not go our way from which we will see, there may be another way. Our way is not always the better way or the right way. And…it is ok if it is not. We should not expect ourselves to know the way all the time. Sometimes, it is ok to not know and it is necessary to listen and be led by the guidance of our inner wisdom as well as our Higher Power (whatever that means to us).

Direction 8

The rest of the messages tell us to slow down, stop even, to listen and pay attention so we can choose with clarity where we are going, instead of tumbling head on into the future. Let go of old habits and fears that keep us stuck, ask for guidance and it will come, then choose a Direction and know that we will be guided by our inner wisdom and knowing. It is time to trust that Wiser Self within us all and act from Inner Knowing rather than Anxiety. Fear, Guilt and Anxiety lead us nowhere…but Inner Wisdom and Knowing…which we ALL have…leads us always in the right….Direction.

Monday Message ~ Scrutinize

Good Morning…and welcome to the start of another week. Today, to garner our message of wisdom to take us into the week, we seek the insight and knowledge of the animal kingdom. And so, I enlist my cards and book of “The Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals” by Jamie Sams and David Carson. The creature that steps forward today and offers its message is:

Free Cartoon Mouse Clipart Illustration

Mouse:   “Scrutinize, Focus, Pay Attention, Honor Your Perceptions”

Message (paraphrased): “Mouse says, “I will touch everything with my whiskers in order to know it.” Paradoxically, this is both a great power and a great weakness. It is good medicine to see things up close. It is good medicine to pay attention to detail, but it is bad medicine to chew every little thing to pieces.

So-called civilization is a highly complex set of components which calls for more and more organizational skills and scrutiny. Things that might seem insignificant to others take on enormous importance to Mouse.

You should try to see a larger picture than the one staring you in the face. Develop a largesse of spirit. Try to become aware of the Dance of Life. Realize that even though you may be in Los Angeles, there is also a New York, a moon, a solar system, a galaxy, and an infinite universe.

Mouse medicine is telling you to scrutinize. Look at yourself and others carefully. And then strive to see beyond just what you see before you. There may be a greater meaning. Remember that all good things come to those who are willing to work toward wholeness. Little Mouse needs to see the big picture, but also assimilate the information the picture gives a little at a time. You can be overwhelmed if you forget to take it step by step. Slow down and stop chasing your tail or being confused by the maze and start observing the details of your present pathway.”

Mouse 2

from The Desk of MarDrag:

So this message from Mouse is two-fold ~ Scrutinize and look closely…But do not move too fast or obsess on those details or we may become confused. Take it all step by step. Do not run through the maze of life favoring either side. Find the Balance.

Mouse is a small creature that lives very close to the ground. It has long whiskers that touch things and warn Mouse. It runs with its nose close to the ground, hearing and seeing every little thing. It scrutinizes its surroundings before it moves.

But…because Mouse lives so close to the ground, it has a difficult time seeing the bigger world around it. Mouse needs to look up now and again to get a better perspective. Mouse becomes confused in its maze because it is only looking at the ground right in front of it instead of the larger path before it.

Too much of either way does not make an easy path to finding our way out of the maze and to the big cheese.

Mouse 4

So, while we fine tune our focus to look at all of the crumbs in our path for signs, messages, and guidance…we must also be aware that there is the rest of the world around us that counts…and that there are greater forces at work too. Finding the Balance of both points will help us make those decisions and choices that lead us to Right Action, and doing the best for ourselves and those around us. Then we will not get stuck in a corner while smelling the delicious cheese we cannot get to.

Mouse 3Be like Mouse and Scrutinize and notice details, but do not spend so much time on those details that you lose sight of the bigger picture.
