Letting Go 8

A few days a go I wrote a blog about Source…and that, not only is there the Greater Source…but we each of us, individually, have our own Source, just connected to us, and there to fill our lives with what we want, need, and desire. I saw this quote yesterday, and it furthers the idea that…in order to access that Source and open a space for it to flow toward us…and reach us…we must Let Go of anything that we are holding onto….from the past or that is not good for us…so that we can clear a space for that which our Source would give us. If our space is full of what we hold onto that no longer works for us…then there is no room for the amazing things our Source is waiting to send.

Letting Go 6

Do not resist anything! Embrace it all…from the difficulties to the joys…because there is truly something…some nugget of wisdom…in everything that crosses our Life Path. Don’t discard anything as inconsequential. It all has meaning…so if we resist something, it will have to keep repeating itself until we “get the message”. Then it can know it served its purpose and move on…as we let it go too.

Letting Go 4

Source wants to reach us…that is its Life Purpose. Open yourself to the flow. It will be better than OK. It will be magnificent!

Thoughts For The Day

Thoughts 1“You may have a fresh start at any moment you choose, for this thing that we call “failure” is not the falling down, but the staying down.”  ~ Mary Pickford

MarDrag’s Thoughts: I love this quote for its simple truth. We all fall down sometimes in life, or things do not work out as we planned or expected. We are quick to call ourselves failures and become depressed or feel hopeless. But…it is only failure if we fall…and stay down. If we fall and wallow in the muck of misery…we inevitably will get stuck and make it harder to get out of it. If we can look at the falls we have, or the mistakes we make, or the sometimes unfortunate turn things can take as stepping stones to get to where we are meant to go…then we can not fail at all…for all those things contain messages and lessons that, if learned, make us that much more ready to move on to be a success. And…at any moment…we can decide to step out of the muck and have a fresh start. Go ahead…lift your foot…and take the step!

Thoughts 2

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”  ~ Gandhi

MarDrag’s Thoughts: We cannot possibly find happiness, or be happy, if the things we think, say, and do are at odds with each other. If we say one thing but do another…we are not living in truth. Even worse is when we think one way, but say and do another. We are only fooling ourselves in these cases, and render a constant state of confusion, for ourselves and for those around us. Strive for alignment of the mind, heart, soul and body. Be honest, with everyone but most importantly your Self…and you will find Balance…which leads to Harmony.

Thoughts 3

“Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”  ~ Buddha

MarDrag’s Thoughts: In my opinion, we as a society have forgotten to be there for each other…we have forgotten that we are all connected. And even further…we have forgotten that we need each other and need to work together to make this world a better place to live in. It seems it is “every man for himself” today and that there is a fear that if we give something of ourselves, we are giving it away never to see it again, and we fear we will lack. But as Buddha says…Happiness and Kindness never decreases when shared. In fact, I believe it increases when shared. Today…share a little bit of your happiness with someone…and see it grow within and around you. Light that candle.

Thoughts 4

“There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy.”  ~ Ralph Blum

MarDrag’s Thoughts: Be grateful for the gift of your life. Always racing on the next best thing takes a lot of energy and does not guarantee happiness and satisfaction. Be grateful for what you do have. Within that grateful glow is a sense of peace…like you can stop for a moment and enjoy what you have already achieved. Experience the calm and the joy of Gratitude.

Tuesday Affirmations ~ Healing Pain

It is time for Tuesday Affirmations and so I have before me my deck “Gifts of Affirmations” by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber. I splay them out on my desk, run my hands over them, wait for the heat and energy to reach my palm…and then ask for our message for this week. Here is the card that came to my hand:

The Gift of Healing:   “I Am Free Of Pain And Suffering”

Message:Use this gift to remember who you really are. Breathe slowly and deeply as you remember that you are a soul moving onward and upward. You are not your name. You are not what you do. You are not your body. Visualize beautiful birds removing your pain and suffering with their golden beaks and flying away to drop them all in the vast ocean.”

Pain 1

from The Desk of MarDrag:

I love the first sentence in this affirmation…”…remember who you really are”. We have so much input in our lives, and so many things we have to manage and that happens to us. Sometimes…when we have a lot coming at us…we forget and start to listen to all those voices outside us that tell us things about ourselves, whether they be true or not. We listen to those voices and we begin to believe what they say…and we lose sight of our true self…and turn our ear away from our own inner voices. Our perceptions can become muddled, and we have trouble separating what is true, real, or our own thoughts. From this confusion…is born Pain and Suffering.

I believe pain in the physical body evolves from not being at ease with ourselves and our lives. Disease is just that…dis – ease…not at ease with the Self. It is my belief that pain is the physical manifestation of inner conflict, unhappiness, and a severe outlook on ourselves. It builds, looking for an outlet, and not finding one, uses the body as a vehicle to process through. I, myself, became ill years ago, because of this very reason. As I was going though it all, and my subsequent healing, I became acutely aware of the truth of that. That knowledge helped me heal and get well.

We are here to live this gift of life in happiness and harmony…and when we forget that that is who we are really meant to be…it causes pain. But, as the affirmation says…we are not our name, our jobs, our possessions, our fears or doubts, our troubles. We are Souls, given the gift of life to enjoy and learn and evolve through. We have command over the physical…we just forget that we do.

Pain 2

If you are experiencing pain…seek to find the source of it…not just the physical source, but the soul source…and whether it be birds with golden beaks (as above) or a rushing river, a bright white light, or heat and fire…direct it to take the pain from you and cast it away. It is well known that visualization is powerful…mind over matter…and if you believe you can…you will be able to let go of pain. But too, make sure to work on the issue that caused it and find resolution and completion so it does not continue to manifest within you as pain. (And, of course, seek medical attention where needed.)

It can be done. Keep reminding yourself you are a whole, healthy, balanced soul until you believe it again. Our bodies believe what we tell them. What would you decide that to be?

A Journey Traveled

“Life is short, and we do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who travel with us, so be quick to love and make haste to be kind.”  ~ Henri-Frederic Amiel

“It’s not so much the journey that’s important; as is the way that we treat those we encounter and those around us, along the way.”   ~ Jeremy Aldana

“If life is a journey then let my soul travel and share your pain.”  ~ Santosh Kalwar

“The journey is the treasure.”  ~ Lloyd Alexander

from The Desk of MarDrag:

During my time away this past week, in which I contemplated, pondered, read, wrote, meditated and rejuvenated…I had some marvelous moments of clarity, healing, and receiving profound messages. One of them I wrote about in the last blog. This that I am going to write about now was another such moment.

Journey 1

I believe in the Journey. I believe that there is purpose in the Journey. I believe we should be acutely aware of the Journey, so we do not miss a drop of it, for every moment of it is important and has meaning. Sometimes, more meaning and purpose than the destination. It does not always matter as much where we are going…but how we get there. We should not be in too much of a rush to get from point A to point Z…and miss all the letters in between…for there is substance to be had there…lessons to learn and messages to receive. It is important to be aware of every step we take…to know them so we do not have to repeat them. My belief in this runs deep, and so I make it a purpose in my life to examine each step and glean what is necessary from it so that I may move on to the next step cleanly and clearly. I am not always successful! But it is my intention!

Journey 4

It is so, too, with the people that travel on the Journey with us…and those who we travel with as well. Some people come into our lives for a great length of the Journey…some for short periods. We enter other people’s lives in the same way. Sometimes we stay long with them through their Journey, sometimes it is only for a short while. But…no matter the length of time, it all has profound meaning and impact on our lives, our Journeys. And whether it be a positive or negative influence…we should embrace those that we walk with for a time…and take the gift of their impact as an experience necessary to our growth. It is my belief that people are put in our path for a reason, for both parties, and that there is a greater reason than the one we may only see with our eyes. We should look, then, with our hearts.

Journey 6

I looked back, this week, at all the people I have shared my Journey with through the years, and whether there were bits of anguish still alive for some of them…I took them all and wrapped them in a circle of Love and Blessed them…for it is only harmful to me to house them any other way. My Love is for the imprint they have left on me, because I have grown and because of them I become a better Me. And, then, my Journey is full and ripe.

So…to all those who have been and will be part of my Journey…Bless You!…and I hold you dear in my heart. Whether you bring me joy or sadness…I choose the Power of the Positive and wrap Love around you. And…to those whose Journey I have joined and walked a bit with…I hope you can look at our time together as Positive too, and I hope that the imprint I have made on your life is a vibrant one. That is always my intention…to walk with Love and to shine it on you.

Journey 7

Our Journey’s are paved with many variations of events, people, and lessons. But it is we who hold the Power to determine how those would affect our lives. Rise up…and look through the heart…for it is the Love within that makes the Journey a Blessing.

Our Source For This Life

I have been out of my office this week, taking some necessary time for myself, a break to rejuvenate and reconnect with myself. I do not do this very often…certainly not often enough…but that is a condition of this current age, is it not? We are busy and our lives are full of a great many things to manage. But…I write and teach about taking time for oneself…and so, I took myself at my own word…and arranged some time for me.

As I was spending time in Meditation, something very profound came over me, and I wanted to share it.

We are all called daily to give of ourselves…and though we likely do not do so enough…we should remember to give back to ourselves and do/think those things that fill us back up and Rejuvenate us…so we do not become overwhelmed, depleted, and ultimately empty. As I was doing these things for myself, one of them being Meditation, a new clarity started to open up about WHAT it is that we fill ourselves with. We all have our personal interests and spiritual food…but I began to ask a different question. From where does that come?

Source 1

And the answer that came booming over me while deep in Meditation was…SOURCE. Our Source. Our own individual Source. That is…we as separate individual beings have a Source…our own direct Source. We learn about THE Source…whatever that means to each one of us, whether it be God, Goddess, Higher Powers, Universe, Earth, Spirit, etc…or all of the above! But in this Meditation…the meaning of Source presented itself in an absolute condensed focus…and I was shown my own individual line of Source…that was my connection and only mine. In other words, we pray to and draw from the Greater Source…but there is also our own personal Source, just for this life. Every being has their own unique Source, the point of energy where we begin and end. That line of Source is only for that individual, for that life and that life alone…and it is what feeds us.

So, when we look to be Rejuvenated…whether we can “get away” or not…all we need do is call to “Our Source” to flow into us and fill us up. The “doing” of that which revitalizes us is a pleasure, and we need to do that…but, it is the opening up to our own particular line of Source that truly fills us…and we need nothing, no one, and nowhere to access it.

I feel like I am hopelessly stumbling on the words to convey these thoughts…excruciating for a writer! So let me try a visual with an analogy! The Earth is filled with people, the sky with stars.

Source 4

For every person on the planet, there is a star in the heavens that is their own individual point of light. Visualize that there is a thread connecting each person to each star.

Source 3

The threads run smoothly through the heavens, never getting tangled, because at the Source, there is always balance and harmony. Through that thread runs our energy, vitality, spiritual nourishment. Our star is our own star, and feeds no one but us. The Greater Source feeds everyone, including our own star/source…but this one particular star…is just for us. Our own Source…always ready and full to send us what we need. It is never depleted. It can never be broken. And it will never leave us or fail us. And it knows exactly what we need. We need not fear to Trust it.

So…we have prayed or asked or begged of the Greater Source, and we all have, with differing results. But think of the possibilities once we realize, in absolute Knowing, that our own line of Source is there too. It confirms our place in the world, the universe. Even if we are lost within ourselves…our place in the universe is not lost. So we are always connected to and anchored in…our Source.

Source 5

Just as Nature is the Greater Source for a river…it still springs forth from it’s own Source point of rock, stream, or pond, etc. And so too…though we are all part of and can draw on the Greater Source…we still have our own individual Source of this one Life we have to live. Perhaps it is time to remember and become more aware of and reclaim that Source. For that Source embodies our Destiny, our True Life Purpose, and the Essence of who we Truly Are.

Call to that Source, Receive the flow, and see what happens.

A Life To Live

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.

Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”

Taking Steps One At A Time

This picture caught my attention yesterday when I was looking for something else, and I was struck by the message I saw here. Life is full of small to large challenges, events, obligations and hopes that we take steps on every day. We may just be starting at the bottom of the stairs, or we may be in the middle wondering if we should continue….and sometimes we get to the top and can claim victory.

But this picture reminded me that, everything is a step by step process, and we always have to begin at the bottom and complete the steps, the process, to get to the top of those stairs where completion, success or victory await us.

So, if you are on a journey on the “staircase of life” and if you are challenged and wondering if you should continue, or discouraged because the end is not in sight for you…just remember that the next step on the staircase is so close…it is right there, waiting for you to “step up” to it and when you do…it elevates you and gives you courage when you find that you can really do it.

Reaching that next step is such an accomplishment, so acknowledge yourself for getting there and be proud of your progress. Then look up, and know the next step is there to receive and support you…and when you get to the top you can raise your arms and dance the happy dance that you believed in yourself and your “staircase of life” enough to keep going.

It may look like a trudge up those stairs, but with each step conquered you gather energy and confidence to keep going…and the top of the stairs is really there, waiting with success and victory. What an achievement! Well done!

Rune For A Monday

Welcome Back to Monday! I hope everyone had a lovely long holiday weekend! After time off and celebration…it is difficult to get back into the flow of “regular” life…so to start our Monday off this week, I was drawn to pulling a Rune (from my set and book by Ralph Blum)…and here is the symbol that presented itself with its message for the week:

Laguz: Flow, Water, That Which Conducts

Message: “Unseen powers are active here, creative and fertile powers of Nature. The attributes of this Rune are water, fluidity, the ebb and flow of tides and emotions, of careers and relationships. Laguz fulfills our need to immerse ourselves in the experience of living…without having to evaluate or understand. It speaks to the desire for comfort and the satisfaction of emotional needs, to the lunar side of our nature. For while the sun strives for differentiation, the moon draws us toward unity and merging.

This Rune often signals a time for cleansing: for revaluing, reorganizing, realigning. A Rune of deep knowing, Laguz may call you to study spiritual matters in readiness for self-transformation. Success now lies in contacting your intuitive knowing, in attuning to your rhythms. A Rune of the Self relating rightly to the Self, Laguz signifies what alchemists called the conjunctio, or sacred marriage. In fairy tales, it is the end where the hero and heroine live happily ever after.”

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Well…there is most definitely a pattern emerging from the messages we have sought these past couple of weeks. This is the third in as many weeks that speak about Cleansing, Water, and Flow. I think a tide is turning…and we are being counseled to “go with the flow”…instead of against it. Laguz talks about the ebb and flow of life…as well as the active forces around us…and tells us to become as fluid as the water.

There may be changes or upheavals in our lives right now…but Laguz says we are not being called to evaluate them or understand them (just yet)…but to flow with them as they merge into our lives. Rather than trying to understand all that is going on, or change it…we should spend our energy on examining what holds value to us, and reorganizing our priorities. It calls on us to be in contact with our intuitive side…listening to that Inner Wiser Voice…and turning to the study of the spiritual aspect of life so that we may be in better touch with the Self. When the Self “relates rightly” with the Self…a deeper connection with our Spirit, Truth, and Power is created. A unity occurs…within and with the Self. It is in that unity that we find exactly what we desire to fulfill our needs.

Laguz River

Cleansing, water, tears and flow are the message here…so continue to cleanse yourself of negative energy and thought…rinse them away in the water…allow the cleansing tears to come…and go with the flow of what is happening (for now)…until the energy transforms…as it always does. Seek answers in the spiritual realm…because understanding in the physical is not within our grasp at the moment.

We are being called to Trust our paths…and the Wisdom of God and the Higher Powers and the Universe…and to take care of our own rhythms that guide us on that path. Be Present, See to our needs…and all, in the end, will be well.
