The Beauty of Renewal

“Life is the principle of self-renewal, it is constantly renewing and remaking and changing and transfiguring itself, it is infinitely beyond your or my obtuse theories about it.”  ~ Boris Pasternak

“God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume.”  ~ Vance Havner

“Every single cell in the human body replaces itself over a period of seven years. That means there’s not even the smallest part of you now that was part of you seven years ago.”  ~ Steven Hall

“Renewal requires opening yourself up to new ways of thinking and feeling.”  ~ Deborah Day

“Renewal. The goodness of God coming down like dew.”  ~ Elizabeth Goudge

“Never judge yourself so harshly that you never arise from the ashes of life.”  ~ Shawntel Jefferson

“I realized, it is not the time that heals, but what we do within that time that creates positive change.”  ~ Diane Dettman

“The first day of spring, the vernal equinox—the season of renewal when the earth sheds its winter cloak, flowers bloom, and the heart feels as though everything is once again imaginable.” ~ Galen Watson

from The Desk of MarDrag:

The season of Renewal has come. The snow on the earth is melting, the ice turning to liquid. The rays of the sun that for months have been hidden, or their warmth timid, are gathering heat and shining brighter in the sky. The clouds are parting for the sun and turning from their moisture heavy and laden selves to fluffy, light, white cotton balls that flit across an ever deepening blue sky. The miracle of the rebirth of nature is upon us as we see the tiny shoots of green burst forth from the damp soil and spots of color erupt among the fields as buds begin to break out of their brown and cold blankets to surge forth and bloom.

The months of hibernation and going within are giving way to the months of rebirth. It is the time to plant seeds, to feed and water them, and watch them grow and manifest into their true selves. Such a small thing, a seed. Not much to look at as it is. Tiny, brown and with a hard outer shell they are, and if we did not know it, one would think there was not much to be had from a seemingly insignificant infinitesimal thing. But, the potential for growth and beauty and service to burst forth from the seed is infinite…and so many things spring from the seed to add beauty to the earth, to feed us, to serve a purpose and to perpetuate growth through out all the seasons.

Growing Seeds 1

We are like that seed we humans. Some might look at us and see us as small and insignificant. Some of us look at ourselves in that way and do not see our potential. But, like the seed, there is a mighty force of life within us, the cycle of life that connects us to the heavens and to the earth…and in between is all the promise and possibilities of what we can grow into. We may have tough outer shells as well, and it may take time to gestate what lies within those shells…but if we nurture ourselves, find the positive energy as food to feed us, drink of the waters of our true paths…we too will spring forth from the seed of our True Selves and blossom into our Destinies.

In the radiant glow of the spring light, our hearts lift, and we can imagine once again. The darkness lifts and we can breathe again, feel the light and the air and the energy flow through our minds, hearts and souls again. The feeling that anything is possible flutters through our awareness like the breath of a spring breeze, and we think, perhaps, that we might, just maybe, try something new.

Because we are Renewed.

Just like the earth, we are renewed. And this is the moment of the miracle of opportunity to consider what we want the rest of our lives to look like. What is our True Life, what is our Destiny, what is that thing we know we are meant to do. How can we be of service to the earth and to others to replenish the nurturing and the energy we have received from which we grow. How can we contribute to the Cycle of Life and help others grow.

Tree of Life 1

Shed the dusk of the winter of your soul. Open yourself to the beauty of the seed that lies within you. And know that if you nurture and feed yourself with love and light, you will burst forth from that seed and grow into that magnificent being that you already are, deep within, and the world will be that much of a better place for having you in your True Self and on your True Path.

Be Renewed!

Blessings!

  1. Good morning, back to my rutine. Hopefully with a better attitude and better results. Of course it will take some actions from me to make it happen, keeping a positive attitude, do the work well, and know that I am not insignificant.
This renewal blog is a good one, tom keep it in mind. Thank you!

Have a nice day everyone 🙂

  2. OT – You might not hear from me for a few days. Cousin-in-law/bff’s husband is in last days so I’m leaving first thing tomorrrow for Louisiana.
Also my mom is back in the hospital since saturday. They removed 2.7 liters of fluid this morning and my brother says she’s feeling perkier already but we won’t really know anything for a couple of days. So there’s a possibility I’ll be going straight to Florida after Louisiana.
I’ll check in when I can…..hugs to all!
