The Power of Manifestation

“When you do what you fear most, then you can do anything.”  ~ Stephen Richards

“When you connect to the silence within you, that is when you can make sense of the disturbance going on around you.”  ~ Stephen Richards

“Our way of thinking creates good or bad outcomes.”  ~ Stephen Richards

“Before you can successfully make friends with others, first you have to become your own friend.”  ~ Stephen Richards

“The highest manifestation in life consists of this; that a being governs its own action.”  ~ St. Thomas Aquinas

“Beauty is a manifestation of secret natural laws that otherwise would have been hidden from us forever.”  ~ Goethe

“All life is the manifestation of spirit, the manifestation of love.”  ~ Morihei Ueshiba

“Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation by holding true to the vision, and often just before the big achievement, comes apparent failure and discouragement.”  ~ Florence Scovel Shinn

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Every day, we experience Manifestation in our lives, whether we are aware of it or not. Mostly, and truthfully, we don’t think about Manifestation that much because our thoughts are more concerned with WHAT we would have Manifest rather than the actual act of Manifestation. But, our very thoughts cause that act to become real and it brings things into our lives that we want…and some that we do not want.

So, our thoughts become crucial when we would consider the Power of Manifestation.

I take, once again, to my ever present and dusty friend, my Oxford American Dictionary, for a definition of this word. It comes as follows:

1) A perceptible, outward, or visible expression; an indication of the existence, reality, or presence of something

2) One of the forms in which someone or something, such as a person, a divine being, or an idea, is revealed.

So, Manifestation is the physical presence of something that comes from within, an expression. An idea, a piece of art, a song, a poem, a building or any manner of thing…but the one common denominator in all things that Manifest is…that they begin with a thought. It begins in the mind…and thus the soul…for our passion and drive would have it so.

That is why it is so important to be aware of our thoughts and be as clear as we can on what we truly want in life. How do we want that expression of our selves to Manifest? We can, most certainly, Manifest things that we do not want or are afraid of because we focus our thoughts too deeply on those things. It is the old adage that what we fear we create. This is why I speak so often about spending our energy in the Now and on the Present so that we can have clarity in what our True Lives are meant to be about. Because, clear or not, we will Manifest what we think about. So, if we are always focused on the past and its issues, we will Manifest those same lessons over and over again, until we learn it or let it go. If we continually focus only on the future and what could be, we never Manifest the possibilities of the present.

So, consider those questions at the end of the recent post, A True Life. Ask yourself what it is you really want to see become genuine and physical and present in your life. And be honest with yourself in answering those questions. If you do not know, give the questions up to Higher Powers and ask for guidance. It will always come.

Then, when you have clarity, focus your mind on that vision…while listening for the feelings that will tell you if this is best and right for you…and know that you have the Power to Manifest that which is True and Right for your life. And that always leads to happiness, peace and freedom.

About Now and The Gift of the Present

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”  ~ Bil Keane

“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”  ~ Mother Theresa

“Real generosity towards the future lies in giving all to the present.” ~ Albert Camus

“It’s being here now that’s important. There’s no past and there’s no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is, ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one.”  ~ George Harrison

“You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking how you’ll escape one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”  ~ John Green

“I have realized that the past and future are real illusions, that they exist in the present, which is what there is and all there is.”  ~ Alan Wilson Watts

“The Future is, of all things, the thing least like eternity. It is the most temporal part of time–for the Past is frozen and no longer flows, and the Present is all lit up with eternal rays.”  ~ C.S. Lewis

“All that is important is this one moment in movement. Make the moment important, vital, and worth living. Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused.”  ~ Martha Graham

from The Desk of MarDrag:

The Past, the Present, and the Future…the three time continuums that take up all our thought and energy on a daily basis. The time frames that fill up our experiences, our thoughts, emotions and souls. We rejoice or have regrets about the Past, we enjoy or worry about the Present, and we have hopes and plans for the Future. But, what about our energy and focus? Where do we put that stream, that flow and how does that affect our quality of life and our progress on the path of our Destiny and Life’s True Purpose? How much does the direction of that focus effect where the strands of our complex and gorgeous tapestries are placed and who/what/when they intertwine with?

We can spend so much time and energy agonizing over the Past and feeling remorse, shame or guilt over things that we did or did not do or goals we did not reach. Energy spent. We worry, struggle and suffer over the Present and which direction to take or what decision to make or try to force things to happen when really, we are confused about what it is that we truly want. Energy spent. And, we obsess about the Future, trying to plan, anticipate, control and guess about what will happen or what we think we want to happen. Energy spent.

So, think of this, what of this current moment? What of the immediate Present…that gift that we are given to experience and delight in? Or learn from and choose from. As John Green says above, we live in the Present lamenting the Past and imagining the Future will be so much better, but we do not see the Present for what it is. Today, this moment…there is nothing like it and never will be. This moment will never come again, and we must remind ourselves to become aware of that, to spend each gift of a moment as if there will never be another, because, in all truth, there will not. And how would we spend that moment in the Now…regretting the Past and looking for the Future? How insignificant and irrelevant that must make the Present feel!

What if we took all the energy we spent mourning the Past and looking to the Future…and spent that energy on the Present? How much more of our life might we know if we spent all that energy here…in the Now?  How better would we recognize our Destiny, discover our Life’s Purpose and gather the right Direction if we put that energy in the Now?

Consider this…all the moments of all our experiences of the Past and all the hopes of our Future collide in this one moment of the Present. It is ALL here Now! Because we have it so in our minds.

So, if we can accept everything in our lives that resides in the Present…that is, recognize that the sum of all we were and will be is what we are Now…then we can find some peace within ourselves and go quiet, and allow the Wiser Voices within us and of the Higher Powers to guide us in our next move. We must accept the Present in order to move away from the Past and into the Future. It is what it is for a reason…and we have made it so. Whatever is happening in our lives Now, good or bad, it is indeed happening and it is because we have chosen or allowed it. Once we truly accept responsibility for this, we can move on.

Think about where you would have your stream of energy and focus flow. Think about those strands of your tapestry and where you would have them placed. It would be a tangled skein to have them placed in the Past as they try to draw the picture of the Present while imagining what they will look like in the Future.

The Present is a gift and the potential and possibilities are endless, if we choose to spend our valued time there. Our Destinies require it, our Life’s Purpose is waiting for our attention, and the Direction is to the Now.

Letting Go and Action vs. Wait

NOTE TO READERS: Apologies….this is a bit of a long one! 🙂

“Patience. So much of this is patience – waiting and thinking and doing things right. So much of all living is patience and thinking.”  ~ Gary Paulsen

from The Desk of MarDrag:

On last week’s posts about Destiny, Life’s Purpose and Direction there were many comments and much discussion, and I love that. It lets me know where your thoughts are about what I write about and if you are interested in the messages. Thank you for your interest and input, and I am glad these posts make you ponder about these matters. One thing that came up last week were thoughts on the concept of “Letting Go” and discerning when to take Action in life or when to be Patient and Wait for what is to come. I have previously written a post about “The Art of Letting Go”….it is in the archives to the right if you would like to read it…but I thought it timely to add some information and dialogue about Letting Go and Action vs. Wait.

First, let’s consider the act of Letting Go, for it is, indeed, an action. We hold on to thoughts, feelings, emotions, ideas, mind pictures, people……hoping that they will all work out the way we want them to, have life happen with them the way we want them to, thinking that this will lead to happiness. Sometimes they do work out and we find joy in them, and sometimes, we are disappointed to find they do not work out.

It is often difficult to Let Go of something we feel passionate about for fear it will leave us, or not return, or not happen in the way we would like. So, there is a certain “Fear” around that thing. And, because Fear often has a false voice, it tells us we should be afraid of what will or will not happen, and so we spend a great deal of energy in concern for the outcome.

But, consider this….if it is THE right and best thing for us, it will come about. Then we need not waste any energy in Fear. But, if we are trying to force something, or cause something to happen that is not best for our lives, it likely will not happen no matter how we try to control or affect the outcome. And further, if we do manage to “make it happen”, we will soon find it does not bring the happiness we counted on it to bring.

That old adage that I am sure you have all heard…”If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was yours. If it doesn’t, it was never yours to have”…applies so profoundly here. It is something we need to remember when we are in the grips of torment over what we want to create or to happen or to have. We must ask ourselves the very question of, “Is this really right for me”, and listen for the answer. It will come from the Wiser Voice within us and from our Higher Powers. And then, we must be honest with ourselves about the answer…and Let It Go. The right thing will happen, and we would be wise to accept that.

The other aspect of Letting Go is also an action…to Let Go of all the old dialogue and feelings that no longer work for us and keep us chained to wanting things that are not right for us. The past belongs in the past, and if we can Let Go of it, there will be that much more room for all the amazing things that will enrich our lives to come to us.

Now, above I spoke of the “action” of Letting Go…so this brings us to the other concept coupled here in this post. And that is Action vs. Wait. If we want to create something in our lives or reach a goal we have set or draw in something or someone that we want….do we take Action to “make it happen” and keep our focus and energy on it, or do we Wait and have patience waiting for it to come? It is a fine line to walk…But…

We do BOTH!

If there is some practical Action to take such as sending out resumes for a new job, or being social to meet new people, or preparing paperwork, etc….then we most certainly take Action and do those things in order to aid in and create energy and focus around that thing we want. BUT, at the same time, we Let Go of any attachment to the outcome so that the right thing, the best thing for us has a chance to come through. Like the quote by Fulton J. Sheen above says, “Patience is power. It is not an absence of action, rather it is timing, it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and the right way.”

There is also another saying, “Timing is Everything”. If we push something too hard or try to control it or force it, we stand the chance of ruining the outcome. If we do not take enough Action, we also stand a chance of losing what we want. So…we must be alert to that voice within and to our Higher Powers who guide us in the right direction, and listen to what we ultimately KNOW is the right thing to do. And then be true to that and ourselves.

If you are confused, and the messages are mixed….Don’t Do Anything for the time being! You will “know” when the time is right to Move Forward….and Wait!

A True Life

“Let go of expectations and live the life you were destined for. Peace comes only when we are true to our soul’s nature.”  ~ Unknown Author

“Do not forget that you are who you decided to be.”  ~ Stephanie Cook

“Struggles are required in order to survive in life, because in order to stand up, you have to know what falling down is like.”  ~ Unknown Author

“You all know the saying which is very true: What you resist persists. And I’m sure many of you have already found that out in your life. And then suddenly when you let go of resistance you let go of an attachment to something: I need this to happen in order to be happy; I don’t want what is, I want something else. To be okay with what is, which is the simplicity of this moment, is the beginning of true change.”  ~ Eckhart Tolle

“The universe is a stage on which your mind dances with your body, guided by your heart.”  ~ Yogi Bhajan

“The state of your life is nothing more than a reflection of your state of mind.”  ~ Wayne Dyer

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”  ~ Albert Einstein

from The Desk of MarDrag:

Inspiration this week has been frequent, and focused on a particular topic. That doesn’t happen too often, so when the Higher Powers so profoundly speak, I must listen. So, there is one last message this week on the topic of Destiny and Life Purpose. It is the thing that goes hand in hand with them….A True Life.

It is a deep question to ask of ourselves….if we are living our true life. And more importantly, when we ask that question, we must be completely honest with our answer within our hearts and souls. It does not mean we have to do anything with that answer immediately…just that we allow ourselves to consider the idea.

I said in previous posts this week how important I believe it is becoming to strive to be our authentic selves. To add that positive energy to the world to help balance all the lies and negative energy that abounds. Thoughts, words and actions have Power, so by living our true lives and fulfilling our true purpose, no matter what it is, we contribute to that balance. And the world is terribly out of balance and in trouble right now. Consider that, by changing your life, you change the world too.

Contemplate and ponder the totality and accumulation of your life experiences, for they have led you to this moment. What happens to us is part of our destiny and imperative to our understanding that they lead us to where we are meant to be. Without that, we have no direction. We would meander through life not knowing where we are going or why we are not getting there….or even that there is a There.

We all have a “greater story” than the life story we are living at this moment…unless you are already living your true purpose. Even then, the path grows further. But…with all the difficulties we endure, all the stress we bear, all the negative we tolerate…and even the good things that are a part of our life…..we still have a greater story being woven into that Great Tapestry. And there is a magnificent glow that awaits us when we choose to take up our Torch of Destiny.

Let go. Don’t resist. Let life come to you. Don’t force life, or a door to open. Stand before it and ask if it is the right door. If it is….it will open for you. If it is not, another door nearby will hear you and open to show you the way. Maybe not your way, but the way that is best for you. Sometimes, “my way” is not what is meant to be, but the way that comes turns out to be the “Best” way.

Is there something that has been on your mind that you have always wanted to do, but never did because “life” got in the way? Is there something you started but never finished? Is there a flame of thought that you think might serve people but never fanned it because you think it/ you are not good enough? Is there something you have always “known” about yourself, but never took the time to explore and cultivate it? What was it as a child that you yearned to grow up and be? What did you think your life passion was then, and now? What is that one thing that you are sure you are so good at, but don’t choose to do?

These are a few questions to help you ponder…this is the stuff of epiphanies and realizations…..and they can lead us to where we are meant to go. To that True Life we are meant to live. And, to the self-happiness and the betterment of the world should we choose to go….There.

What Direction Go I

Many of you who read frequently here may recall that I dream very vividly and often. I have not written about my dreams in some time….but I have had many. These past few days I have had some very profound dreams…so I took to my “Dream Cards” by Strephon Kaplan-Williams to bring you a message from the dreamland today.

The card I pulled is: (this is interesting considering Tuesdays post on “Destiny”!)

DIRECTION – Guiding, Destiny, Fulfilling (Central Image – A Bridge crosses a great chasm)

Message: Direction is when we value somewhere or something greater than life itself. Direction is not simply choosing goals and fulfilling them. All goals deceive, whether one is climbing ambition’s ladder, nurturing a family, or championing a major cause of the people. While these need commitment, they do not transcend the specifics of life. The only commitment that gives ultimate purpose is following Source energy to the end of your days, no matter where it leads you. Your Task Is: Ask if you have a purpose so valuable you can commit your life to it.

Secondary Images:

Snake: Only the choosing are chosen, only the chosen are choosing. Seek the source of what challenges you.

Door: Clearing obstacles is the first step in finding purpose. Learn from everything that does not go your way until you no longer want only your way.

Suitcase: The true cost of a journey is to give up what you don’t want to let go of. Hold on tightly, then choose to give.

Cards: Fortunes are not in the cards, but in the choices of life. Choose with certainty and never look back.

Stairs: If one has more than one direction in life, they tend to cancel each other out. For the moment, choose the most central direction.

Dog: To be led means to make another’s direction our own. Give up self-desire and be guided.

Car: To keep moving is not in itself a direction but a distraction. Stop yourself long enough to choose where you are going.

Lightening: The journey combines what happens to us with what we do about it. Act more from inner knowing than anxiety.

from The Desk of MarDrag:

So, I find it very profound and interesting that, of all the cards in this deck, this is the one that found its way to my fingers today. There must be “something in the air” regarding Destiny and our Purpose in life. I was inspired to write Tuesday’s post on Destiny rather than do the Affirmation Cards I usually do. So, the Universe is offering us a message to take to heart, to consider, and to ponder.

From the symbols and notations on this card, I gather that it is becoming more important for us to take a look at where our lives are and where they are going, and strive to follow our Destinies and find our true Purposes. The world needs that of us right now. Everything is in bad shape. But, we can all contribute to making it better, simply by following that Destiny and living our true lives….because just by doing that, we add to the balance of the energy that needs to be righted. This is THE best thing we can do right now, to be who we are truly supposed to be and do what we are meant to do with our lives. No matter what it is or how big or small….if we are in balance in our own little corners, then all those cells of balance touch, connect and merge and create a larger balance that helps offset the negative. I cannot help but feel these messages hold great weight.

The Central Image speaks of following Source energy no matter where it leads. (And that “Source” is whatever it means to YOU).  And….that our true Purpose is one that is so valuable to us that we commit our life to it. What could that be…to YOU? Seek the source of what challenges you, and find out.

I love the line, “Learn from everything that does not go your way until you no longer want only your way” because it reminds us that, while our individual tapestry is busily being woven, there is still the greater picture to be considered, and how our tapestry fits into that Great Tapestry. Perhaps now, more than ever, we need to reflect on this. And there are lessons to be learned from that which does not go our way from which we sill see, there is another way.

The rest of the messages tell us to slow down, stop even, to listen and pay attention so we can choose with clarity where we are going, instead of tumbling head on into the future. Let go of old tethers that keep you stuck, ask for guidance and it will come, then choose a direction and know that you will be guided by your inner wisdom and knowing. It is time to trust that Wiser Self within us all and act from Inner Knowing rather than Anxiety. Fear, Guilt and Anxiety lead us nowhere….but Inner Wisdom and Knowing…..which we ALL have….leads us always in the right….Direction.
