UPDATE ~ How Great Your Power

Good Morning Sweet Friends! In this blog yesterday, I promised you a process to help you stay balanced and centered in a new post today….but it did not get written up. I had some unexpected guests yesterday and obligation took my time away. I’m sorry 😦  BUT, I am writing it up today and will post it either later this evening or tomorrow morning. So check back for that something that will help you navigate not only these days ahead, but going forward in your life.

Have a lovely day, remember how powerful you are, and see you later! Blessings!

“Personal power is the ability to stand on your own two feet with a smile on your face in the middle of a universe that contains a million ways to crush you.”  ~ J.Z. Colby

“It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.”  ~ Buddha

“Most powerful is he who has himself in his own power.”  ~ Seneca

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.”  ~ Alice Walker

“By banishing doubt and trusting your intuitive feelings, you clear a space for the power of intention to flow through.”  ~ Wayne Dyer

“If it can be thought, it can be done, a problem can be overcome.”  ~ E. A. Bucchianeri

“But that’s the challenge – to change the circumstance more than it changes you.”  ~ Michael Pollan

from the Desk of MarDrag:

This has been a difficult week for everyone…for many different reasons. Most especially, the tragedy in Newtown, CT is weighing heavily on all our minds and hearts as the victims are laid to rest, one by one, yet so many. It is hard to think about finding any joy in the holiday ahead…..and we may feel guilty for even looking forward to Christmas, when so many are in pain. As if this was not enough, we each have our own personal lives and trials that we are attempting to manage, also while trying to prepare a happy holiday for our loved ones. It is overwhelming, and many of you on the blog have expressed your blue moods and fatigue. And my heart goes out to each and every one of you. I feel your pain. If I could take it away and relieve you, I would. Gladly.

But, since that is not possible, what I will try to do is bolster you, shore you up with words of support and encouragement. I will be a buoy for you to hold on to, a prop for you to lean on, and help bear your load until you are stronger. I will reinforce for you the truth that you are greater than you think you are at this moment, that you do have a wealth of might and vigor to draw upon, even if you don’t see it or feel it right now. It does not mean it is not inside you. You just have to tap the well a little deeper.

But the one thing I want to do most for you…is to remind you that…..your Personal Power is greater than anything your circumstances can throw at you! The mountains before you may look high….but your Power is bigger, taller and far more supreme than any situation the Universe has put in your path. Will we let those circumstances best us? Or rise up to draw on and utilize our Power as it was meant to be used…..as it was given to us. Use your Power to change how you feel about the circumstance even if it is not ready to change in the physical. Stand up to it, collect your energy, and wrap it back around you. It will sustain you. If you give it Power. Don’t give your Power away to the mountain, feeding it to make it bigger. Stand in the face of that mountain and show it how big your Power is. It won’t dare face you down. It will shrink to perspective in the shadow of your authority.

Stay with it. Let your Wiser Self take the wheel. Take long rejuvenating deep breaths. And take a moment when you can to close your eyes and just BE. Let everything else slip away, just for a moment, and give yourself the gift of peace, if just for that moment.

So too, I have a wonderful process to help you maintain and sustain your energy that some of you have asked for. I will be putting it up in Friday’s blog (tomorrow). So check back here for a brilliant way to help yourself stay balanced and centered, and keep those mountains in perspective, through the days ahead. It is from my heart to yours. Now, I send warm thoughts to wrap you in and comfort you. Until tomorrow……..

Love & Blessings!

  1. “…..and we may feel guilty for even looking forward to Christmas, when so many are in pain. ” so true!! i feel so sorry for those families. at the same time i am trying to stay in the present and enjoy it with peace. reading and listening to happy positive comforting things, like this blog. i find that peace, but i just cant help but think back of those families. As you said yesterday, it is too soon. therefore, it is normal to still feel this way. the problem is if we get too down over it. i hope we dont 🙂 Mar, you are doing so much by giving us this place, and also by being strong even though this affects you too. Thanks!

  2. “Mar, you are doing so much by giving us this place, and also by being strong even though this affects you too. Thanks!”

Well said, Cali! I also like the point you made about not getting to down about what happened. It’s hard to do though.

“your Personal Power is greater than anything your circumstances can throw at you!”
    This part really hit me.

Thank for another great blog. Lookng forward to your post tomorrow about staying balanced.

  3. “Let your Wiser Self take the wheel.”
I think I’ll tattoo that on my forehead. 😉

Another great one MarDrag. I read yesterday morning but didn’t make time to comment till now. Just wanted to let you know I’m still kickin’, lol.

    • LOL….I will second that tattoo and get one that says “Dazzle the World With Your Light” on my forehead. Sound good?

I am glad to hear from you and that you are “still kickin'”. Keep that energy going and remember how powerful you really are. You can do this….and do it well. I believe in you!! 😉

      Keep me posted!

  4. I thought I’d share this poem here.

T’WAS 11 Days Before Christmas Poem
    Sandy Hook Elementary School Children

Twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38,
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air,
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say,
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“Where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse,
“This is heaven.” declared a small boy.
“we’re spending Christmas at God’s house.”
When what to their wondering eyes did appear, but Jesus, their Savior,
    the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same,
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
At that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring,
those children all flew into the arms of their King.
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had,
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below,
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence reenter this land!”
May this country be delivered from the hands of fools”,
“I’m taking back My nation. I’m taking back My schools!”
Then He and the children stood up without a sound,
“come now My children, let Me show you around.”
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran,
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT”
